Business › Re: Shehu Sani: Shoprite Exit Will Help Local Supermarkets To Grow, They Can Go by Profayo: 5:31am On Aug 04, 2020 |
Odidigboigbo: when last did you take your family or GF to "Iya Biliki store" for shopping? The bitter truth is that most of us especially our so called elites that have access to big supermarkets, (ShopRite, SPAR, etc), prefer to patronised those "big supermarkets" in the spense of our local supermarkets and you expect them to grow. My town doesn't have shoprite so I patroize local stores. 99% of Nigerians don't patronize shoprite on regular basis.Only 8 states in Nigeria has shoprite, that's less than a quater of Nigerian states.I must think by now the local stores in those states without shoprite must be very big now, but no, the biggest local stores are still the ones in states with Shoprite. https://www.shoprite.com.ng/about-us.html |
