@ Mandem12... Reading the first 2 pages get me irritated by the closed minded comment of most Nairalanders. This is 21st century and it's high time we dismiss any tradition and religious beliefs that keeps us moving in circles. The pretty fact is that strong humans have break from old religion and tradition belief some of which were killing of twins, abolishing slave trade, marrying outside your tribe, stopping female mutation and more. Breaking from bonds of old fagot belief is the best way to help humanity. If not you will just tossed according to their wishes. Some folks here has phobia of quoting Bible or Quran verses quicker and most doesn't relate. You can't tell me God allow Adam & Eve and their children to practice incent and that God allow Abram to marry his step sisters Serah yet you claim God allowed it because the population of the world was small but He disliked it now. Where do we place your God is the same, today and forever. That just shows all stories in your Holybook don't add up and were mere inventions of the Iron age men that have no clue of the world they lived in creating stories more of fables. A critical thinking of the Genesis story shows every human on earth practise incent because it stated from the root of Adam it just depends on the degree of incent they indulged in. @op my advise for you is this; If your wife is willing to stand by you go for check up see if you are compatible blood group and genotype. In as much as she's isn't your immediate blood sister and step sister you are fine bro. The only challenge is how well you are financially buoyant. Sometimes challenges might arise so, don't never think is because of the consequences you were told would happen. It's natural. Make the right decision now and break free from cultural and mental slavery. Let me give you this story of a close friend... As at 10 years old her parent were informed from village that they have to bring her for rituals and her hair will be cut off. Her father has taken the challenges not to yield to their tradition but the mother insist for fear of consequences. The village people threaten her parent with death which makes the mother scared not to lose her daughter but the father stood his ground. Few month then she fell sick and every suspicious points to the threat of the village people. Village people still persist they must bring her for ritual as its their tradition. But with good medical care she became healthy and continue schooling with us. More than 10 years now she wasn't taken for any ritual and she's alive. Her immediate sister never go for any ritual and they are living fine. So speak to your parent to rewire their thoughts and educate them on some traditional heritage that isn't necessary because if you didn't break it another will. #Thinkwise Mandem12 |

It's is only in Nigeria that the amount of wealth pastors milked from their poor members has become a yard stick for God's blessings. Google Search Top 10 richest pastors as at 2018 and you won't be surprised how Nigerian pastors takes lead. Note that in practice these pastors control very much more wealth than is disclosed here. 1. Bishop David Oyedepo, Nigeria Net Worth – $150 MillionI'm not surprised since pastorprenure as taken over Nigeria. Their members are drowning in the ocean of poverty and you see then boarding private jet. The only watchword they tell their members is your reward is in heaven. Wake up if you're asleep |
MY INTROVERSION IS A BLESSING IN DISGUSSED (My Experience) I have finally went through all the post from 1 to end at interval of 3 and I found out that we all have common trait. I wish I can meet some of you one and one but unfortunately, we are distance and spaces apart but nevertheless, we have a common platform where we can share our taught. Don’t be saddening about you being introverted. There are encouraging comments here which shows you aren’t alone. Look beyond those bad traits and you will see the good trait of being introverted. Introverts are always a great listeners. I still remember during University days, especially during lab I hardly ask questions because I listen attentively whereas most of my extrovert talkative peers can ask same question again and again without still gasping. There was once an instance during the lab, the lab instructor directs us on how to go about some laboratory experiment and left us to continue. After grouping us, shortly an argument broke out in my group. I told them about what I heard but some just ignore, some even said I don’t even talk or ask question. Well I realized that we weren’t going to do anything if we continue with the argument. Everyone except one other guy abandoned the setup and seek elsewhere to dub. I knew some few things about the experiment, I do the needful and I just move on fill my sheet with my observations and plot my graph ahead. Few minute to submission they came back rushing to ask what I have told them earlier but it was late. There are other experiences maybe I will share later. Introverts are best people to confide with . I used to wonder why the pastor, or teacher always focus more on me during sermon or teaching especially in small gathering. I realized introverts are more focused and less distracted during conversation and always willing to hear out. Most time, peers just come to me for random talk about anything, I might not be interested but I try to give a listening hear about their bant. It happens to me most time and on of such was on a quite night I was alone and decided to go get fresh air around the park during uni days. Of course, there are some noise makers there which I ignored. Few minutes later, a random girl who sat at a corner came to me telling me how she detest how to environment is literally annoying and so on. She must have observed me from afar and deduced I will be willing to hear. I just have to confide with her to avoid hurting feelings. Introverts are great thinker and have better creative minds . Introverts spend most of their time on reading, watching movie, learning skills, writing and other sort of thing that are usually uncommon among peers. This enhances them to develop a great mind and better thinker. Which is why most people usually misunderstood them. The reality is that we are all unique and we can’t be everything the society want you to be. Every time spent with you self you realized new thing and is a matter of time when the society will need people like you. So don’t be discouraged when you don’t always fit into every situation. Introversion is a gradual process and as you grow older you overcome some thing you can handle which may be shyness which gradually fades away. Feel free to share your opinion with others without worrying what if and in reality both introvert and extrovert have fears which might be different. Until you try out something, you never can tell how good you’re. In summary worry less about things you can’t control and bad trait it is a gradually process and you will overcome it as you grow. Let me share this experience with you guys. During my days in campus I hardly go for any outing. I prefer to read alone, walk alone, and play computer game alone. I can go for weeks without calling anyone. Sometimes, I subscribe 3X bonus with my network and never use it until it expiries . Before I post anything I think about it until I won’t feel the need to post it. If there is any need to take picture, I will auto time and place my phone at any convenient area and capture myself . I hardly contribute to any bant with my roommates. People that hardly know me quick to judge and the most common attribute is proudness. Like Practically do everything myself. A friend of mine that understands my personality always encouraged me until I agreed go to a mini get together with him only once. I summoned courage but I have lot of what if in my mind. We got there and I experience what never happened to me before. I never believed I would survive. I felt like I was melting. We were 7 pairs in male and female. I was practically paired with a girl although more outspoken than me. I could not maintained eye contact at some point. We played lots of games some of which were asking your partner random questions in secret and then later will be called upon and ask any random question and your answers must tally with the answers your partner wrote on paper. I did well on the other end. Another game is you will be given a character and you have to portrait it or act it in front of everybody and your partner must guess the character. I remembered I was given a “cleaner” and I acted it well picking dirt throwing it in dustbin, dusting the table . She got it right of course after like 3 to 4 attempt but I always fail her maybe I never understands her moves. Imagine when they ask me what was your greatest fear?; and I saw my partner already penning the answer on paper and telling me I must say what I told her. I can’t bring myself to tell them “my fear is that I can’t talk to girl ” of all fears in the world. I would have entered ground if I could but yea I survive it and it was fun indeed. That little experience sharpen me a bit but I wouldn’t trade my introvert self for something else. So never feel challenged about it you will get better and if you have any introvert around you cherish them and I believe you should understand them better. |

Sars again! What a pathetic ordeal. Why do sars carry guns in the city for what exactly. I think government should substitute that gun with kondo. Few years back, I remembered some sars crew came to our abode pointing guns at us telling us "I will shoot you" is that supposed to be a threat? Some even carry gun to match with their cloth feeling fly like commando. All they could do is to harass young boys defrauding them of their money. If they want to prove their power, Sambisa forest is there and Boko Haram will be smiling to give then welcoming party for all I care, they should stop harassing people especially young boys. www.nairaland.com/attachments/8760542_c36020190213202152830_jpeg66a124690018002bada96e06fc4c3c79 |
Op just keep searching I hope you found the lady you are compatible with. The crises you might experience during searching for AA is nothing compared to marring incompatible lady and giving birth to SS and other with sickle cell. Beside most people never knew what genotype means and some don't even know theirs. I used to claim AA since it is the only genotype I grew up to know until I went for medical check up for admission and found out that my genotype was AC . Did few research on Google and found out that the best partner for me should be AA. genotype. |

He better compile with NURTW terms if he want a peaceful governance. For those of you making noise about how crazy Agberos and their chairmen can be don't forget they are better and respectable guys among them that abide to law and seek for unity. It's the same job some even use to send their children to higher institute and making big impact. Even if majority didn't go higher institute, yet they are more educated street wise than most of you. Watch how you address them because for different folk different stroke NURTW... The craziest job in Nigeria... Those Agberos and their chairman can decide to beat a driver or deflate his tyres... |

Seeing this video makes me feel sick. See what religion of peace has created. Beheading someone and justifying it with some crappy verses from their holy book. Now, we hardly identify BH any longer for all I care they might be our next house neighbour. Boko Haram is worse than Ebola and Corona virus but together!!! Our country is sick of BH and need cure as fast as possible. |
I hope all is well @ JacksonMS. I went through all your posts hear and I realised how you have professed negative words about yourself. Being introverted is not a disorder. You're not just the only one with this trait, there are other people here even if you don't meet them physically but from their experiences, we all have familiar experiences. You already know who you are and there's no doubt as an introvert we do understand other people's physiological nature better even if only few can understands ours. Either way, you can develop and make the best out of it. I personally, I'm introverted in nature and mostly talk less, more of listening. Thinks alot and keep to myself especially if the situations brings unpleasant discussion I disagree with. I would rather keep myself busy than get involved in gossip about people around just to feel among. Yet, if it's one on one interaction, rather than making the person feel absurd, I give little smile and that help. People can misunderstood your personality but another trick is don't try to fitting into their personality. You might ended up making mess out of it. While growing up among peers, I just suddenly started withdrawing from the crowd all to myself, sometimes asked why am I weird this way, but in between, I developed myself and spend more time alone, not necessary following crowd. But right now, I have learn to love myself the way I am before I can try loving another person. There might be some time I feel lonely and depressed, It's is normal for human being to feel that way, even the outgoing ones you always secretly admire do feel alone and depressed, but you wouldn't know until maybe you have some hearth warming discussion. I have experienced this; I though I was feeling depressed and wishing to be my outgoing friend until they come to me expressing their deep thought telling me how depressed they were. That alone made me have a rethink. So if you are depressed, talk to someone you are can confined with, try listen to message/music or think about the positive thing around you and feed yourself with positive vibes or take a walk within your neighbour. You made mention of not having a soul mate. In that case while looking for one, try as well to increase your own self esteem. You've got many hidden potential and moving along with like minds can sharpen and bring it up. I don't know the environment you stay, but if there are quite number of people around, you can try get involved with any activities you seem interested in. That can help a the long run. cheer. |

Happy Sunday my people. Hope you guys are doing well |
Wonders shall never end. This is the problem with Nigerian's. They should gather and dress in black to pray over what... What a waste of human quality time and energy. They better use the time to back up their claims, file them and utilize a good lawyer to defend them. . |
Okay... You mean Restitution to the pastor. Christians especially in Nigeria has gone astray especially in the era of pastorprenures. People no longer worship God but their pastors. They swallow every word the pastor says without reasoning. They wouldn't mind doing what is against their Bible teaching as long as their pastors accepts them every Sunday... So, are there truly MEN OF GOD or GOD OF MEN..., what should we tag this ordeal is it been FAITHFUL or FAITH FOOLS... they condemned the worldly HIP POP CRAZY while HYPOCRISY is the order of the day and yet they claimed they obey the 10 COMMANDMENTS which says I am the LORD thy God, your daddy G.O and anointed pastor! |
FINDING HUMANITY Another article here below. A very touching story that perfectly describes my state of mind and after reading through it, I had a rethink on how I have neglected loved ones , friends and family without checking up either texting or calling. You might not necessary have much money to give them, but just a little "Hi greetings" goes a long way! It's another Saturday morning and so I get along with my normal routine: got my sunglasses, face cap, headphones and running shoes. Today, I plan to run 20km listening to calm mediation music; not just to keep me at peace and in pace, but to lock out all these other people trying to make small talk. I need this alone time to drown all the usual city clutter and detox from the contamination I have to face driving to work daily. The stress levels, pollution, noise, traffic are enough to send you to an early grave, so today, as usual, I find a way to block it all out for my well being. The first 30minutes passed by blissfully and then, a cyclist was almost brushed off the road by an on-coming car and in his maneuver to avoid a collision, obstructed my path and forced me to jump across a drainage. In landing, I sprained my ankle. Just a mild sprain, but it meant I had to walk, instead of run, walk. Minor inconvenience. That walk home changed my life! First, in crossing the drainage back to the road, I noticed it was filled and clogged with plastic and full of infected, algae filled water; it emitted a nauseating stench. How did I never notice before now? I thought the drainage was the worst sight to behold, but after my first few painful steps, I had to take off my sunglasses…a man was attempting to filter a bottle of water from this same gutter. I had to engage him in a conversation to find out what he wanted to do with it. He had a small plastic bag with a comb, toothbrush and one t-shirt and apparently, that was everything he owned. He smiled at me and asked why I wasn’t wearing the red running shoes? I was shocked! How could he know? He saw my shock and added, “You wear the red one only on the first Saturdays, why not today?” I jog past this man every week, he knows my routine, what I wear, my pace and even what time I pass each way and I never, never, not once, took notice of him. I never felt so little. In the midst of a poor, wretched, homeless man, I learnt to be my brother’s keeper. I continued my walk but now, in deep contemplation, no sunglasses, no music – this time, I wanted to smell the air, feel the road, hear the noise and most important, I wanted to see more humans for I had already accepted, I was not one. I walked past 2 men witch amputations sitting in the dirt next to a popular food joint and I watched them stretch their hand out to beg everyone that passed. It was early and they had both made N125 already and they said it was a good start coos they normally got about 4-500 per day. I asked if they had eaten and they both burst into laughter and said, “today no be chop day, na tomorrow we go chop”. It took me a few seconds to process what they said and when it hit me, it hit me hard. Abu and Abdulahi walked, very uncomfortably, into the food joint and we ordered food and ate together. Honestly, I felt lighter after the meal and though I didn’t have much on me, I emptied my pockets to them. On my street, I noticed that an abandoned car, which I had always seen but never took notice of, had its rear window down and I caught a glimpse of a tiny hand protruding, I went close to find a lady and a baby that, based on size, couldn’t have been more than 18months. What on earth is she doing in an abandoned car? I limped to her and again, started a conversation and first shock was that the little girl wasn’t 18months but a very malnourished, under weight 4 year old. The lady had lost everything and this abandoned car was the only shelter she had and the dustbin across the road was her only source of food. She somehow, hadn’t been able to bring her self to beg and she said she prayed every night that death would come for her and her baby. In all this, I got a wild thought, “if all these people are in my path daily and I am too numbed by my own insignificant worries to even notice them, how about those in hospital?” I got home took a quick shower and rushed to the nearest government hospital. I honestly can’t tell you I knew what I was going to do there, but I went nonetheless. As I looked for the ward, it started to rain, but I didn’t care because a man, late 30s, walked up to me, carrying frail looking woman who looked 70 but was his wife aged 29. He needed money for a blood test before treatment could commence and he didn’t have. She looked gravely ill and I was about to say I didn’t have enough cash (I assumed she needed a lot of money for complicated tests) but he cut me short saying “I have N700, I need only N3,450). I froze. Under the rain. Life and death separated by less than the equivalent of $10…less than a shot of my favorite whiskey. I left the hospital 3 hours later, after paying bills for half a dozen that I could find. I saved 6 lives today. 6 humans will live to die another day because of me today. And it cost me less than that the tyre I replaced on my car yesterday. 6 lives. I blame the government for a lot of the ills in our society, like refusing to create a social safety net, refusing to plan and spend adequately on healthcare and education, abandoning the poor, homeless, maimed, old, widows, orphans; our government has a job and they are not living up to it. I don’t think government understand the plight of the people and I do not think the see that an between epidemic, food crisis and poverty, we can be walking into a major disaster. But today, I look at the man in the mirror and we have agreed that we will take more responsibility for our environment, our friends like Abu and Abdulahi, the homeless like Mary and baby Chinonso, the sick like Gbenga’s wife. I frequent the hospital now and though I can never help everyone, I hope one day, I can get everyone I know to help someone I woke up this Saturday morning for my normal routine; my sunglasses, face cap, headphones and running shoes. I woke up this Saturday morning and in trying to lock out the world, thinking of just myself and my misfortune, a sprained ankle, opened my eyes, my mind and my heart. I woke up this Saturday morning an ordinary man; I go to bed today, hopefully, as a human being! http://acandleonahill.com/2019/11/01/finding-humanity/ |
Amujale:I've checked the link neither am I in support of Abrahamic religion. But if we were to move on, something has to replace and fill the gap of religion. What do you possibly think it could be? |
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS Specifically the second commandment says Do not keep no graven images or likenesses, except of Jesus, Mary, Yahweh and the Saints. Am I right or right? If Jesus truly existed, I would love to be around him. Why? He's compassionate, never judge sinner of his time, he moves closer to them unlike our modern Christians. He preach about loving one another and shows it, he condemned those Pharisees of his time which are likely the modern MOG, He saw the wrong doing in the temple about selling goods and commodity but today churches do more than that they now exchange with pos. Should it be called church or enterprises? Most of his teaching where not accepted in his era even in Roman Empire. Jesus with such a personality would have speak against slavery but early writer that were influenced by politics would have removed most of his generosity teaching especially about slavery and equality of men and women. He was so generous that he doesn't dress to show and hardly did the authority recognized him and out of the blues people that had no encounter with Jesus write about his and coined new religion around his name some century after his death. For the sake of choosing image I would have love to see the black Jesus is today churches in Nigeria. That should send a deeper signal |
