Oga080666419419:
do you think it was generated with lazy yoouths crowding all betting centers in Oyo and Ogun States.

Lagos is a no man's land.
May I also add that the S/West is the most economically viable region of the country and even if Ibos built it all, you have to also know it won't have been possible if the S/West Yoruba didn't provide an enabler in the form of sagacious administrative ability, peace and tranquility. There are Ibos in Kano and Sokoto why haven't those places become more successful economically than the S/West?

Like they say, if it ain't one thing it's the other.

Lagos will be accepted to be a no man's land when Enugu and/or Anambra becomes one.

Get your facts right please!

CareerRe: What Is The Best Way To Handle A Randy Boss Without Losing Your Job? by proffc: 5:56pm On Jul 09, 2017
shinarlaura:
In this part of the world where corporate laws are hardly enforced, getting lustful advances from that male boss of yours (especially if you're physically attractive) is something that wouldn't be so new to you.

One thing I've come to observe is that most of the male bosses/employers who are fond of this shameful act are often married with kids. They don't try to hide it from you; they always show that all they want is just to sleep with the person and move onto the next. While some ladies fall for this, others do not.

Some of the victims of this act of predation are merely desperate to keep or secure their jobs; they are needy and are ready to work to support themselves and their loved ones, whereas some ladies are simply promiscuous, fun-seeking, greedy and money-blinded and wouldn’t mind going down with this kind of men.

Personally, I left my previous job because I didn't heed to my ex-boss' advances, and he started making frustrating moves till I couldn't bare it anymore, I left without getting paid for 2 months of work. Now it seems that my present boss is following the same path.

What is the best way to handle a randy boss without losing a job? If you have had such experience, 8how did you handle it? Please contribute.

A lot of negative forces was at work and the APC had their hands in it.
I rather bookmark you till federal elections come up in 2019.then I will remind this comment
I hear you. You must have come in from Frankfurt or America - in Fela's voice - otherwise you will know that there was overwhelming support against GEJ and it was no fault of the people but due to his gross ineptitude and rudderless navigation.

It will be a miracle indeed if an opposition usurps APC in the next election, not with Osinbajo as A.P and all these jegudu-jera politicians deflecting.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Commissions Ojodu Berger Pedestrian Bridge As It Wears New Look by proffc: 9:02am On May 16, 2017
NothingDoMe:
Lagos was foremost developed because it was the capital of Nigeria for many years until the betrayers sold their birthright to the north.

So don't make noise in this place.
No, Lagos is what it is because of the keen administrative capabilities of the Yoruba people (I'm not playing a tribe card here before bigots start their nonsense, since we may as well agree that all tribes have their strengths).

I will now tell you why I think so:
Before the war, Ibadan (the capital of the then Western Region) was more populated than Lagos, that is if it wasn't the most populous in Nigeria at the time (evidence why this was is still evident in Ibadan today, the estates -Oluyole, Bodija & Agodi quickly comes to mind -, Dugbe, Ring-road etc). Ibadan was what it was because of Yoruba civil servants ditto Lagos.

So yes, Lagos benefited from being a capital. But to now solely put the greatness of Lagos today on that singular reason will be doing injustice to logical reasoning and conclusion.

Use paystack for its ease, if you want to do the dirty job and have some cash to spare then use interswitch directly - cheaper if you use interswitch through gtb though.
RomanceRe: Why Do Ladies Leave Their Things Behind In A Guy's House? by proffc: 5:19am On May 01, 2017
PaperLace:
My point has been made, it's not about the space it contains but the monotony of packing same things to a house you visit regularly (that's me speaking for some chicks in a relationship they consider serious not random girls).

Whatsoever reason or conspiracy theory you come up with, is up to you. Different strokes for different folks. I am sure some ladies can relate to that reason, but some men would stick to that which strokes their ego (marking territory).
This is true.

BusinessRe: Afdb President Predicts Dangote Will Become Largest World Rice Exporter by proffc: 1:08pm On Apr 18, 2017
IamaNigerianGuy:
I disagree with parts of your conclusion.

It is actually efficient, farsighted and knowledgeable government regulation that grows economies . Examples of successful and highly regulated economies are USA, GB, Australia, the EU, China. All economies in the world with weak regulation are poor.

Rockefeller and the early 'robber barons' of 19th century America grew large businesses alright but also did a lot through their monopolies to destroy competitors and set back innovation in America by decades.
This was why at the earliest opportunity, the monopolies they created were dismantled by government.

Dangote is the Rockefeller of Nigeria. He runs monopolies and uses the power of government to further his business.

If you study his antecedents in the 80's and 90's, his scrapes with the NSE, how he runs his business now paying peanuts and employing Indians over Nigerians, etc you will come to realize he is not as spotless as he looks.
I haven't said Dangote is spotless - far from it, Infact, who amongst us can claim to be? You also inadvertently confirmed my point about Govt. being regulators meaning we said the same thing in a different way.

In all, you made a good point. I just hope you're not prejudiced against Dangote. Business isn't for the faint hearted you know wink

If he is in the government's good book and has enough money to make mistakes, he can take over any market.
You can clap over it but hey, its not overtly healthy for our economy in the long run.
I love him though but hey, that dude hold our government for blokos!
Thank God he's a Nigerian. He might seem to be running a monopoly today, but we need more 'monopolies' run by private individuals and not Government and this is why. Over time they will get more efficient, they will employ a lot of smart intelligent people who, deepen the transfer of technology, his staff will understand the technology and transfer that knowledge to the rest of us. In the long run, the monopoly will inadvertently produce equally knowledgeable people who will then meet people with resources to recreate the success they've learnt from a monopoly. They might take just a part of the whole process, reproduce it and make it better. In the long run it will be good for Nigeria and Nigerians. There will be more jobs, there will be more money and there will be better advancement in living. The caveat is to prevent the Govt. from ever meddling in the affairs more than as a regulator. Read about Rockefeller, J.P Morgan etc and see how the monopolies they created became a positive driver of the future.

My fiancee confided in me two days ago that she had an incest relationship with her cousin yrs back. She said she told me cos she loves me and wouldn't want to hide anything from me. I love her too and still want to marry her but I am devastated by the news

She said she has fasted and asked God for forgiveness.

I have prayed on her behalf too severally,

I am supposed to come to Nigeria for our wedding next month . pls help nairalanders. I feel so pained . I need wise counsel .
If I were you, I'll marry her. But don't if you know you can't forget (it's really not your ish to forgive). Walk away or stall the wedding until you can emotionally deal with her. But I beg you don't marry her and make her suffer for what she told you.

Let your love prevail, time heals everything and please don't revisit the topic with her in the future either, except she brings it up herself.

Don't be vindictive too, you'll hurt yourself and your relationship with her.

Love her for who she is, there's a beautiful future ahead of you.

There is not one single historical artifact as significant as this in the whole of the South East and I guess that's why the Igbos are constantly jealous of Yorubas.... undecided

....heck, they are not even sure whether they're Africans or Isrealites. Shame and inferiority complex has made them to trade their historical culture for a foreign one...

The irony of it all is that the Jews are unrepentant racists that would mostly avoid any genealogical links with black Africans if possible. undecided
And what has your point here got to do with the topic? Every people have their own uniqueness and strength. Heck! Won't the World be a boring place if we all just think, do and act the same? Ever heard of the Ugbo-Ukwu (an Igbo art-work)? or even know that Yoruba and Ibo share a tint of similarity in the history of our spoken languages? Say what you have to say but don't go creating strife.
