PoliticsRe: Donald Trump To Chase Nigerians Out Of US by profkehinde: 12:49am On Jan 19, 2016
Donald Trump's presidential campaign has faced strong opposition from the beginning, but he alienated even more Americans when he said earlier in the week that all Muslims should be banned from entering the U.S. His opponents bashed his plan and the White House claimed his anti-Muslim comments should keep him from being president, with White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest saying Tuesday, "The fact is what Donald Trump said yesterday disqualifies him from serving as president." However, as much as many voters and politicians would love to see the real estate magnate kicked out of the 2016 election, disqualifying Trump for his ban on Muslims isn't the right answer — voting against him will send a more united message that America doesn't support his xenophobic policies.

A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll revealed that 57 percent of Americans object strongly to Trump's anti-Muslim plan, while only 25 percent favor it. If a majority of Americans reject his religious limitations on immigration, it's important that those voters make their feelings clear to the outside world worried by the possibility of such a harsh policy. Disqualifying Trump from becoming president would prove that political leaders find his bigotry un-American, but the whole country sending that message would be a much stronger statement.

Wow, what a day. So many foolish people that refuse to acknowledge the tremendous danger and uncertainty of certain people coming into U.S.

Trump's wish to bar all Muslim immigrants from the country directly violates the First Amendment right to freedom of religion and creates an inaccurate image of America as a country that doesn't trust Muslims as a whole. According to the Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, 60 percent of Americans have a favorable view of Muslims despite an increased fear of terrorism following the Paris attacks and San Bernardino mass shooting. Whether Trump continues to run as a Republican or breaks free as an Independent candidate, rejecting him at the ballot box will prove to the world that everyone (or almost everyone) opposes his anti-Muslim rhetoric, welcomes Muslims to America, and supports the Muslims already living here.

It will also prove a larger point to Trump about his harmful policies. If he's kicked out of the race, he will undoubtedly claim that it was inappropriate and the American people want to see him in the White House (probably calling multiple people "idiots" in the process), but if the nation votes him down, he'll be forced to recognize that his xenophobia is unpopular.

On top of proving to Trump, Muslims, and the whole international community that Americans don't want to turn away immigrants and refugees based on their religious beliefs, it's important that other presidential candidates, politicians, and the media show the 25 percent of voters who do favor Trump's anti-Muslim plan why it's so problematic. Disqualifying him from the race would only anger these people, not change their minds about immigration. In order for the country to be a safe and welcome place for people of all faiths, there needs to be a positive rhetoric about allowing Muslims into the country so that Trump's supporters are given the knowledge and understanding to reject him as well. Nothing would be more satisfying than turning Trump's most faithful fans against him to create a more open society.

Trump isn't stupid but he is a poor candidate because of his lack of experience. Like a lot of Republicans, he doesn't seem to get it that America is a free country for everybody, not just those that look and think like him. He's great at playing the media for attention because he's done it for years. That is what he's experienced at! Running a government? He's never done it. Never. And he wants to start at the top? Sorry, Donald. Run for city council or school board
He doesn't believe in climate change. My god, this guy is retarded. We do NOT want him for president!M+1
He says that there should be global warming in New York because it snowed there! Smh

He calls Mexicans "killers, criminals, drug dealers, and convicts" and then tries to justify that by saying "I have Mexican friends." Get it through your head Trump. You aren't qualified to be president and especially not in the USA, the place with the most immigrants.
He's extremely racist, which is totally unacceptable. He wants to ban anyone that is not Christian and white from living in America. You can all call him misunderstood, but anyone who says Hitler is his favorite motivational speaker and wants to deport massive amounts of harmless, respectful, and legal immigrants has a serious problem.
He should be deported, not the Mexicans. My parents are Mexican and I will be sad if I loose them. Donald trump get a life and think about what could happen if you do this.

U r so right. I noticed same thing. I guess most people are busy with admission processes. With time we will get more replies.
I want to assume people are really scary of this Donald Trump and his policies. Imagine, after spending millions of naira running a masters in the US, now Mr Donald end up sending such individuals back to Nigeria. I'm sure people are a little putting a hold on further applications and they want to see if Donald will become the President. Some are already having Canada, Mexico and some other countries as a back up just in case Donald wins

She actually want to return after easter holiday, instead of travelling again during easter. This is her third trip to the US, and funny enough, she wasn't questioned at the poe. They didn't even ask her how many days she will be spending.remember this is her third visit to the US. During the first and second visits, she spent less than 2 weeks then.
She's the proprietress of her own school and she has enough staffs/workers to take care of her investment which is almost 15 years into existence now...
She actually intend to return after Easter. And already she will be loosing her return ticket while I will have to get her a ONE way flight back to nigeria for April/ May

Pls has anyone travelled with Qatar airways here before? What's the experience like especially for a family of four. I like to know cos it appears they have the cheapest offer. I know in many cases cheap things come with their shortcomings. Your views especially from experienced persons will be appreciated.
Qatar airline isn't a cheap airline, unless u re very lucky to get a cheap price. Their Aircrafts are really good, smooth in the air, I have travelled with them to different countries more than 6 times.
For me, they are one of the best and very very safe.

As written here by you, no issues yet at all in fairness to you. Extra factors are the things that bring issues. Still a good time for you to travel all things being equal. The more time she spends there the dimmer your chances of entering the US. Funny thing is that she is entitled to staying there up till the 180Days, but the more she stays the more it affects you, unless your visas are not related or connected at all. Is she not having something doing in Nigeria, if no, was the interviewing VO aware at the time of her interview? What's keeping her in the US, is she enjoying anything restricted to only US citizens, LPRs and tax payers? For how long is your visa and her visa still valid dear Prof? Give or take, overstaying leads to issues particularly when it comes to renewal (unless that is non of your bizness, staying more than necessary even within the 180days affects "technically" if not well explained subsequently, a day more than 180 attracts 3 years ban, more than 365 attracts 10years ban). The info you may be hoarding may just be you guy'z undoing sha in the future if there's any! Between, you seem much more like interested in you entering the US to join your family than coming out of there with your family though. Good luck
Thank you very much. We got our visas about a year apart. This trip was her third trip. Previous trips she spent less than 2 weeks each before she returned. As at now, she has not even spent 30 days in the US since she left Nigeria. She was given 6 months at POE, meaning she has until June. Will it be illegal for her to cancel her return flight scheduled for next week, and then buy another ONE WAY flight back to Nigeria in MAY ? Honestly she can never be out of status and will never want to do such. Shes a retired teacher and now owns her own College here in Nigeria. She has more than 20 workers in her private school here in Nigeria. She just wants to spend like 5 months in the US. Remember her previous 2 trips , she spent less than 2 weeks each on those visits. Does the US have record of the return date stated on the current flight ticket ?
Thanks

Does someone need to notify the US officials on the decision to make a change of a return flight date back to Nigeria. Like for example, if on my return flight ticket, I'm meant to return home on January 20th, but I now decide to extend my return by another 3 months, which is April. Does one need to inform the US officials about this change ?

If your wife and child stayed much longer than anticipated and failed to get on their return flight could it cause you problems? Of course it could. It likely will. Just read that question back and think about how an immigration officer would look at that case.
Thank you very much .
Her I-94 stated June 2016 for a return. Can't she extend her return to May while we procure her return ticket for May since the airline have stated that her previous return flight cannot be extended since it was a promo ticket/offer , and after all she won't be out of status at all if she decides to return in May. Her I-94 stated her return to June. Can she legally return in May ?
However, she was given 6 months at the POE which will expire in June. How will that determine my clearance at the POE ? She never planned to overstay at all
Thank u sir

,
I greet you and I have been studying this forum for quite a while, and couldn't figure out I could really ask a question until just recently where I discovered I could sign up and ask questions.
Yes, I am a professor of Internal Medicine from one of the Nigerian Teaching Hospital and I will like to ask u this question.
My wife who is a teacher recently ( in December 27th, 2015 ) travelled to the US with my last child who is just 5 years old to celebrate the christmas with a friend of hers in the US.
I actually bought their flight ticket ( delta airlines ) where her return back to Nigeria is supposed to be Jan 25th.
Besides, she suddenly decided to stay longer during this visit, probably she planned to take longer rest. Her intention has been that she will spend around 5 months before coming back to Nigeria, she was given 6 months at the POE.
Based on the above, I phoned the airline about changing her return data to May 2016, but the airlines refused, they said her ticket type does not support such lengthy extension.
Since my wife has decided to stay till May, and she might have to forfeit her return flight, meaning I will have to pay for their ONE WAY ticket back home in May, 2016.
However, I intended visiting her in a week time, right in the US where I plan to spend just 4 weeks.
My question:
Won't I have issues at the POE if asked why my wife and child still remain in the US and why she decided to forfeit her return flight. I hope you understand my question sir. Remember her i-94 indicated she has to return back to Nigeria around June, 2016. Won't I have problems at the POE as why she suddenly choosed to forfeit her return flight ?
Thanks
