I am about to make payment for the evaluation. I was thinking after the evaluation the first one will be mail to school for free. I added recipient, one school address and the price increased from $212 to $248. What do i do please?
If WES, All your total cost for evaluation, with additional report to the school + delivery fee(standard of $7) =$212. But with additional report to another school ($30) + delivery fee ($7) will sum all your fee to $249.

Great to see another chemist coming on board. Nano research is very interesting and promising especially when you focus on the materials chemistry side, semi conductors (quantum dots) et al. You can land yourself a well-paid job with the likes of Intel, Tesla and other companies.
Chemical sensor research and nanomedicine research is a great deal of a Master's research. I think you're gonna have a great time working with state of the art equipment and facilities for research.
Oyaaa.. Kunlexy, see OT from your Oga in Chem,. Eyin Nanotech aye,.. Thanks Oludare, Make una dey flex TN..

I got to the embassy around 6:10am.. I quickly joined the queue for 6:30appointment, Naso person shouted my name from the queue. *Ojah, wetin you con do for embassy*. (In my mind, I con meet my grandpapa). He is a friend from Unilag, going for MSc in Chemistry at MTSU with assistanship. Naso we con dey follow eachother like instagram on every stage from outside till the biometric stage.
Unfortunately, he was denied, as I stood behind him, as directed by the CGI guy, to be interviewed by the same VO (woman in her early 30s) in window 5..
The guy sef bleep up. VO was asking him "Why the school" and the guy dey tell VO say the school get nice building bla bla.. As she give am 214b, my mind cut.. Naso I carry myself go meet her..
.

This guy was bereft of the precious information on nairaland, I met him that day I got mine approved and he has been on my neck ever since that very day. I did my best and introduced him to this forum, to read every valuable advises & transcripts here which he obliged..

TODAY he got his visa approved.. He will drop his transcript soon!!.. Thanks Nairalanders!!

The Tb skin test is 1k. The cost for the others depends on the manufacturer. The MMR is approx 5k per dose, meningitis was about 10k (gsk product)-i was told it is for life. But you can get another product for less.
Thanks bro.. God bless..

Really want to know how much you got all those stuff done at lasuth.. Heard its far way cheaper in lasuth than luth.. I'm presently quite far from Lagos, I'd have love to go make inquiry.. Thanks

Thank you very much for the concern and help. My school provides the option of waiver if certain requirement are met, and I use those requirements as a guide. I'll clench ISOA and compare to Internationalstudentsinsurance as suggested by Lagosismyhome.

I love this humour of "faded glory jeans".... grin

I love this humour of "faded glory jeans"....and I can't stop laughing. It's a very valid advice. How much does one love the tastes of roasted corn, boiled groundnut, ponmo, sugar-filled plantain chips? It's time to have a good fill with them. I've been eating roasted corn daily since the week after my interview, can't ignore beans and corn meal. Even if e dey USA, e no go get the coal flame flavour.

Talking about waking up to greet many people - known and unknown, have an argument with one or two persons, see a live funny scene on the street or by the road, it's time to do these well as there's a slight change in social environment looming. My very dear brother has promised me fine jackets for the new weather as parting gifts.

I don't wish anyone goes to a foreign land to spend what they earned the hard way in their motherland, all in the name of settling down. I'm beginning to settle down even before taking off. More of the advice/suggestions please, as many including me are learning from these.

Bro we need to talk but I can't send a pm.. Kindly check my profile and send me a mail pls .. Thanks bro!!

hello kind sir, am bout entering my final year in botany. I will like to get suggestion on project topics
What aspect of botany do you specialize in?.. What's name of your school?. I'd know from there the project you'd like to do..

In Unilag, students in Ethnobotany(Medicinal aspect) wiil be assigned to supervisors in that area, Also students in Environmental aspect will be assigned to supervisors aligned in their field etc. Ethnobotany students will be able to have their projects done on, let say, Plant metabolites, Plant Biochemistry, Molecular aspect, Phytochemical properties, Traditional botany etc.. Environmental botany students will be able to have their projects done on Bioremediation (Phoytoremediation), Plant Ecology, Ecological modelling, Paleobotany, Plant Palaecology etc..

If in your school, there are no specialisation, I'd say you can have your project done on general botany area, such as plant Anatomy such as Anatomical structure of a particular plant in a particular family. Here, you'd be able to get to know the stomatal number at the upper and lower layers of such plant leaf, you'd know the number of trichomes, you get to research well on their xylem, phloem and its companion cells etc..

Good morning,

I went through this post and comments and saw a lot of insightful comments.

I am a graduate of Botany and about to go for my masters in Pharmacognosy, thinking of either University of Lagos or University of Ibadan.

Any ideas of which of the school to pick from? Also, more ideas on the course, Pharmacognosy.

Thanks.

Hello OllieO

Hope this reply isn't coming too late.. Studying pharmacognosy is nice and those schools you mentioned above are nice.. But I can only say much about Unilag, Their cognosy dept is wow and you'd really enjoy it.. I have 2friends that graduated from there and I also have current student who will be done soon ..

Good day all, I have really gained alot. Am a graduate of Botany from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. But to my surprise, no body ever mentioned about plant breeding !!!!!!, which is also an area of specialization in botany. Which I intend doing my Msc on
Wow! Plant breeding, That's a nice specialisation.. I won't lie to you, I only did few courses (like 2) in plant breeding and propagation because in Unilag, only students with lower cgpa (3.4 and below) specialises in that area (Pure botany).. But students in Environmental and Ethno can borrow a course or two from them.. So I rarely know much about plant breeding...
Congratulations on your MSc

@zainabtomisin

All I can advise is.. Do your best , come out with a good grade. Don't be daunted by tough botany courses you will face,.. You're still in 100level to be asking for opportunities in botany. But with a good grade, you will get your route...

You don't need to bribe anybody. Go to a branch and request to speak with the manager, they have to say what you will understand. You need PTA not BTA. The B stands for Business and P - Personal.

If you have accounts in other banks, it wont hurt to ask them how the process works there. Then apply where you want.

Thanks brother.. Your head is very solid..!!

Mama I dey here o... if you want a true answer to Baltimore, my answer is don't come. It is too small, too dirty, too boring and too expensive, unless you getting a graduate degree in Health Sciences I know Llamas that will get an assistantship before you at JHU, UMB is not much better, The Nigerian presence in the Baltimore area can be a positive or negative, I am still undecided, most affluent Nigerians live in the 'burbs anyway the one you'll see in the city work at 7-Eleven, lest I forget the rent will chase you out of town( I used to average $1100 a month in rent and utilities). I have not minced words for you @the guy that wants to go to Baltimore and although my answers are colored by my experiences I have tried to incorporate the experience of others too.
Boss, I Don catch you for here today.. *Double hands up for you*.. How your side..
