If you have a friend or family in the UK that can help you pay, its better to buy pounds at the black market rate and send to them to help you pay... You will find this cheaper than buying the dollar equivalent at the same black market rate ndidibabe: Please can anyone tell me the cheapest method to pay for IHS and Visa. Dollar exchange in the black market is crazy.. |

Please, before you go to your bank and request for Form A, be sure about the time it'll take them to make the transfer... Some banks will make you wait till you quench... So, kindly make enquiries on this note... And I'd suggest that you use UBA or Titan bank, as those are the only 2 that takes less than 72 hours to reflect (from people's experiences here so far) Cheers. Rabato: Thank you |

That'd be great chief, I'd be expecting your feedback. Thanks fificole: My cousin did use form A from UBA (whenever they had funds) but he said this application for September rent was rejected. The bank said it was an updated policy because many were round tripping funds through landlords/letting agents.
I have searched online for CBN or any banks report on this claim but nothing.......
Will call the banks I intend using then give a feedback. |

It's a big challenge, as black market rates are forever increasing leggyb: I am having similar problems. I paid for my tuition balance at Gtbank kaduna. The bank rejected payment for accommodation. I wrote headquarters, they said it would work provided i am paying both alongside or have evidence of tuition payment previously. Lagos branch Ikeja rejected, Abuja branch rejected, Edo branch (one of them) rejected.
This may mean that a limitation has been placed. Black market my last option. |

Hi, I heard that not all banks will give an individual FORM A to make any payments other than Tuition fees.. Please, how true is this?, and what banks wil allow one use FORM A to make other payments? fificole: Remember you can use can still use FORM A for transfers/payments from your Nigerian account while in the UK. Those being sponsored by family do not necessarily need to buy FX from the black market to send to you.
This is not marketing banks, but a cheaper alternative.
- Tuition fee balances (or installments as the case may be) : Paid directly to the school a. Same documents used for tuition deposits
- Accommodation/maintenance : Paid directly to school/landlord/agent or your account a. Form A b. Admission letter c. Accommodation bill for the month/quarter
I advise you get to know your account officer (a knowledgeable one) or the Operations head in the branch - Complete an email indemnity - Request for a few forms (if they allow it) - Get your internet banking setup and request a transaction token
This also works well for spouses that still have businesses running in Nigeria and get funding in naira.
Simply a suggestion. |

Chairman.... I sent you a PM. Kindly respond... Thank you fetomowo: You should have taken this to the General visa thread. This is a visit visa application. The VO only works with your proven income, you should have attached a letter of explanation stating the sources of the other money outside your salary and including supporting docs to that effect.
You can't use 5 months salary to go for 2 weeks holiday. It may indicate you are not likely to come back. After returning, what will you now use to pay your rent? It's very logical not 'this people are funny' as you alleged.
Poor financial analysis on cash flow is the reason most visit visa gets denied. You need to be adviced properly for your next application. |

It could actually even take more than 6 hours, don't forget you're in Nigeria... It'll amaze you to know that while you do the X-RAY in Nigeria, the test is actually done outside Nigeria( I think the chest X-rays are sent to radiologists in Kenya and Philippines, who would now examine the graphs and send back the results)... Prepare to spend the entire day there, that way, you would be more relaxed... Tynnah: Pls how is the experience like in IOM Abuja and does it really take 6hrs to get tested and receive certificate?
Am trying to plan around Tuesday especially being absent from work partially.
Please I need some that has experienced the center to help out.
Thanks |

As much as we have our moral standards, nobody is obligated to help anyone except parents helping their kids and government helping it's people... Hi Chief Thanks a lot... This is very informative... I'd like to know; for a prospective student who is an entrepreneur, and who already has a conditional offer and has accepted this offer, How would you advise such a student to go about his/her visa application, in a bid for him/her to avoid a visa interview? In accordance with the guidelines you stated on how you went about your visa application?... fificole: Hi,
Typically, if you are an unregistered business owner, you are operating in the INFORMAL segment (business area). You should search for programs under entrepreneurship. That will be more relatable.
- It may help to add a compact business proposal/idea (A brief) and possibly how you intend funding it when you return. - If you use an app for your sales over the years, you may attach a screenshot.
Note this does not take away the need to meet the student visa criteria - CAS, POF and SELT.
With google, type your enquiry as you would say it, weird but it works. See one I did below from your enquiry.

What's your take on the boldened wise one? Proppie : This is a very important question... Especially when one has been into business during one's entire study gap... What will one do in this case?.. Who would write a reference for one in this category? How would one detail one's CV in this case? Majority of SME owners in Nigeria are surprisingly not even registered with CAC... It's going to be really tricky for business persons fificole: Hi,
Think you should stick with documents already submitted. As much as I do not think the school sends any admission documents, just the CAS, its best to err on the side of caution (and truth)
Thanks for the kind words. Great week ahead. |

Whenever you say things, I take a pen and jot down... I'm glad you're here, honestly... Please, do you think it is OK if the CV you're attaching is slightly edited, with little additions and subtractions, compared to the one you submitted to the school for conditional offer?... Also, Will the school be sending the documents you used to support your application for admission to UKVi? fificole: I still think its how one presents their application really and the ECO reviewing the application (key factor).
I have a 21 year formal study gap; my visa was issued 2nd day after biometrics, no interview. I made a 360 from my 21 year career too, returning to my BSC field.
A study gap is not necessarily idle years, but one is not 28 or 30 either. - Detach the mentality of 'its a point based system' - Do more (useful more) - Attach a detailed CV - Make a short explanation under additional information - I attached a letter of recommendation from the body I have volunteered with over the years (my program is in health and social care)
My friend was interviewed because it was his second Masters program (first one was in Nigeria). Another colleague was asked the address of her university and address of her main site of study?? She told the interviewer she did not memorize both addresses but had it printed out and would map her journey a least a week before arrival. She is done with her program now.
There is nothing to an interview, just confidence, data and google.
Go back to your SOP like someone stated earlier today. There are numerous resources on youtube on how to beat these questions. The trick is, from the moment you receive your CAS, start preparing for a UKVI interview.
The requester will be fine. |

It will end in praise Tolvin: Update - I just finished making a paid call to UKVI and the agent I spoke to collected my visa application and contact details. She was really surprised as she said she had not witnessed this before. She said that she saw that a decision was made on the 2nd of August but she is unable to view the decision as it's 'private'. She told me that I should expect a feedback within the next 15 working days (ideally, she said it should come before then). I believe that it will end in praise!!! |

Thanks Blanchefleur: ⚠️TB CERTIFICATE: IMPORTANT INFORMATION
If you are certain that you will be leaving this September, try and book for TB Certificate now. It is issued by the International Office of Migration in Lagos or Abuja. You will need an Xray at the office on your appointment day (and possibly a sputum culture - someone mentioned they asked for this. I didn't do this).
I want to share with you a trick to get an early date in June/July for your TB Certificate. While booking online, in the online form, choose Canada or New Zealand. There is less rush to Canada and dates are more available. Once you get to your appointment, you are given a fresh form to fill. Ensure you fill for UK. A member of this group did this successfully and got his TB Certificate today!
⚠️Ensure you pay the full amount for UK which is N57,800 and fill for UK your appointment day. The online form gets you an appointment and let's you in the gate.
Good luck as you prepare.
