NNAMDIII: They were told to report at ribadu because 5th termers are still in the academy and their pop will be in the next 39days so after the pop they'll move down to afaka but anyhow sha I guess u know that clowns always asked to resume at Afaka despite the fact that pop is always October, so why this year own different? I'm not affirming that training of ssc46 will be at afaka oh, just airing my view nii |

NNAMDIII: SSC can't train in afaka sir, they'll continue training in ribadu cantonment, even efcc guys too did u know that those prospective clowns for 71RC who will resume next week were asked to resume at ribadu instead of afaka? So with that latest development, it is possible course 46 of ssc to report at afaka oh |

ugo4u: Who tell you? They will sneak from Afaka to come to touch you once in a while that one na dole.. Those guys derive joy in doing "rainin wayo" to graduates, the jealousy is something else. During Young officers course, short service guys do beat them academically hands down. For regular officers all of una na fatigue tools. DSSC and even 5th terma in academy are not mate na, why ssc face such humiliation from 3rd terma is because they are the prep winger and they even senior them sef, because now is 4yrs for an ssc to hang the second pip indirectly, they are mate with 2nd terma of army while mate with 1st terma of navy and NAF. |

Maleeq01: My DSSC 24 experience in 20BN Serti Baruwa Taraba State. The journey from KD to Taraba was a 2 days journey, 16 hours from KD to jalingo and 3 hours from jalingo to serti ( i hear am no b small). Arrived 20BN serti very early in the morning, was signed in at the gate and was welcomed quite hospitably, i know say na formalities sha. Some candidates were already checked in and were seated on d floor @ parade ground already (this was to be our daily routine). We were to sign in at anoda spot inside were we were issued our mattresses and some 'yaro boys' were to help us carry them and show us to our hostels. Quickly changed into my salala, carrried my file and doubled up to d parade ground, i was d second pesin from my state (Osun), d first pesin was automatically d state leader, chest numbers were scattered on d floor, I picked OS11. D main activity kicked of d following day, we were addressed by d board secretary Lt Colonel AU Abdul, board chairman Colonel DM Oyekola, d chetah of 20BN LT Colonel MS Adamu and Board president Maj Gen AB Omozoje, we started with certificate verification, this was done in the cheetah hall, were all ur credentials were vetted and any discrepancy found meant u'll be in d next available car to ur village and this was when d 1st set of casualties occured, Naso men begin drop o, e no funny @ all, i particularly felt sorry for one of my village men, bros resumed late on friday evening, didn't come with his ECG, went along with odas who didn't come with theirs to jalingo to do it on Sunday (this was cordinated by WO Faleye, lol, if u were in serti and u don't remember Faleye, u deserve sleep guard room), and bros was evicted on Monday morning. Next was d 'almighty medicals', actually there nothing almighty about medicals until d day result was announced, stay tunned. Medicals was done in d MRS, CMD was Colonel Okoigi, i and my village men bought dis man's job, we pin head sotey hair no gree grow for dat part of our head again. One fair lieutenant was d guy in charge of proceeding. Medicals was divided into 4 segments: 1. Vitals: weight, height and BP: Brethren watch ur weight o and knw ur BMI (Body mass index). Some guys used BP suppresants and it was detected in their blood, so be wise. 2. Blood and Urine:This one is straightforward. My advice, drink a lot of water on dat day so ur urine can be clear. 3. Physicals: lol, u can see i'm laffing already. Shey u knw d way u use to be in d bathroom, ehen, naso u go de, naked and happy, lol. They'll check ur balls, check for pile, tatoos and body inscriptions, flat foots among others. I was checked by a female, she was just playing with my john thomas 4. Xrays They latter did eye test after d above mentioned. Shortsigtedness, longsightedness and colour blindness. Medicals lasted for five days. Whenever Major Bamiteko start shouting "is dat clear, is dat clear" upandan eh, just knw some candidates r about to be summourned by their village ppl. All d "big boys" gathered in d MRS, then Maj Gen Omozoje addressed the candidates, the atmosphere was worse than a burial, d silence was deafening, almost everybody in d MRS can out to witness d occassion. The board secretary took d mic and commenced, AB1 was d first casualty, brethren, more than half of d remaining candidates were dropped for one medical condition or d other, when ure called ur identity (chest number) is retrieved and u go in for counselling. I refused to pick my village people's call and 16 of us from my state were still standing after d medicals ( winch people, dem no gree go house, lol). An exam was administered after d medicals along with a psychology test. The exam comprised of an essay "why i want to join the Nigerian army", this topic is almost always constant along with other objective questions, maths, english and current affairs. The psychology test was tricky, if u lie in d first question, be ready to lie till the end, so be wise. We later reassemble on the parade ground were Major Bamiteko addressed us, i'm going to use verbatim here "all of u sitted here av been declared medically fit, which means i can deal with u to d fullest but i won't do that because tomorrow is going to be a life changing experience for you (interjection: d 3.2km race was slated for d next day), when ure running tomorrow, think of poverty, ure going to be running out of poverty, but when ure running and u begin to see white things please stop, or u see something like a coffin, please respect ursef (we all erupted into laughter). We retired for d day to prepare for d next day. D next day wic was on a Saturday was a crazy day for I and my village men, because we ended our business in Serti on that very day. In d course of d medicals, we did a kind of "raffle draw" were numbers were written in papers and state leaders were asked to pick, d number he/she picks is d other in wic d interview was arranged, for example, we picked number 8, hence we were d eight state to be interviewed, that was y we did our interview on d very same day we ran. This idea was brought by d board chairman Colonel Oyekola. At about 5am we were gathered @ d parade ground and briefed about d exercise. We marched outside d barracks were all cars were stopped and travellers became spectators. Naso we begin run o, we ran to a point and back into d barrack, we were given tags along d way so no short cut to heaven, a lady from Oyo was d "stallion" d gal run finish, sleep wake up me i still de run, lol, i heard she didn't make it d list though. Your's truly landed in 4th cage Aka i cannot coman die cage, lol. We were graded 1st cage 10 points, 2nd cage 8 points, 3rd cage 6points, 4th cage 4points and 5th cage 2points. Next was push ups and sit ups, already tired and exhausted but na we say we wan join army na, oya double up, lol. Come see different styles and forms of push ups and sit ups, i laff tire. After dat was obstacle crossing, actually na only one obstacle o, we climb one long rope like that to touch d metal bar, i couldn't do it o, aswear @ that point, my life battery was @ 1%, i just jejely go siddown, afterall dem no de beat pesin. States with number number 1-10 were told to goan prepare for d interview dat afternoon/ evening. I was like kuku kill us na, then i remember say army job na mad man job, i reset sharply. D board chairman had already told us he doesn't want to see any form of hair on our head or face, though i had reduced d forest on my head b4 heading off to serti but some shrubs had started growing again. D fear of an officer's threat is d beginning of wisdom, i located d barber's shop and met a crowd, chai, see those yeye soldiers gladly reshaping our heads into rocks, all of us con resemble each other, lol. After d cut, went to d hostel, had my bath and wore a new set of everything: white shirt, singlet and shoe and blue short and evn boxers sef and set out to d conference room. I didn't have my interview until past 10pm, it was a friendly one, one Colonel was asking me about football, in my mind i was like " this one no knw me sha" lol, 2 field related questions, i got one and banged d other. D board president asked y i didn't apply SSC due to my young age, i had already envisaged this so my answer was a well rehearsed pitch, so he asked that if i was offered SSC instead of DSSC will i take it, my answer was yes o, all die na die, d next guy was about to ask a question, naso nepa carry light, lol, naso dem say mk i carry my wahala go o. D next morning i packed my kaya, signed out and left my beloved Serti. 2 weeks later, list was out and i couldn't find my name, for d 1st time in a long while i cried, i was so close to achieving my dream, so close to my eureka moment, but it just wasn't meant to be. Now, form is out and we go again. PS: pardon any typo errors, biko na phone i de use type. Just felt i like doing this for posterity sake. #victoryisfromGodalone your tried bro, really enjoyed this piece. |

Lynette2cute: Now I'm not so experienced but from last SSC screening let me drop this here : *Zero your mind for kd cold trust me it's really cold. *Prepare to double up even from point A to B *Ensure you don't buy job as those military police are eager to use you and shine *You'll sit on gravel under the sun until you can't feel your azz anymore. *Don't think it's nysc camp where you can get hot water to bathe. *Don't form over familiarity with the men on uniform *Beg your village people so your salala can look neat or close to neat at all times *Be prompt to the mess else if they've called your state in and you're not yet there you're on your own. *You can be smart enough to smuggle in your phone *MRS is at your disposal, make use of it should the need arise. *Current Affairs should be your best friend. *Have extra whites and if possible canvass for the board interview. *Stay away from certificate forgery because if caught emmmmmmmm, even God will deny you of mercy. *Ensure you're medically fit, if you're shortsighted or colour blind find a way around that. *Ladies if you're on ensure to wash up so blood won't be found in your urine *Ladies stay away from gossiping and focus on your reason for being there. *Sleep will become a luxury. *Ladies stand a higher chance of making the final selection once your certificates and medicals are good to go. *Those cadets will want to take your life but thank God for little mercies they're not allowed to go extreme during screening. Don't even smile at them, infact just hide when you see them. *Drop your worries at the gate, cos high bp is an unfriendly enemy in the race. *Carry pocket money and some extra. You might want to refresh yourself. *Get basic provision if you can *Ladies keep the makeup and serenre to a bare minimum else you'd be picked on everything. *Above all my darlings in this race, make up your mind not to dash. Dashing is the greatest act of cowardice.
Victory is from God alone as we sail towards course 46/25. no dssc experienced person to help us |
