ugo4u: I personally know a medical doctor and an elect/elect engineer that got enlisted without knowing anyone, I didn't say the NN is perfect oo, but the chances of getting it on merit is higher, people may feel otherwise, but come to think of it amongst other hundreds of thousands that apply they can only take a max of 150 candidates for training, so even when you think you did well in the exams there are other people that performed better, there are instances where senior naval officers can't even put in their wards in the service. Oga tenderlaw, pijay, abiodun etal can throw more light on this, or even visit the navy thread and read things yourself. bro, if u don't get mine, let us bury this, I don't really argue far but my comment is base on what I know not an assumption. Best regards bro |

ugo4u: Amongst the three services, The Nigerian Navy is the most transparent arm of service with respect to enlistment. The chances of you getting in merit is very high, the only thing is that it is very very competitive and they take only few applicants. Sometimes just 3 per state. I think the highest intake is about four per state. When it comes to professionalism and intellectualism then you just have to give it to the airforce, hardly will you retire from the airforce without being a better person, infact most air force personnel I know upon retirement secured juicy appointments in multinational coys, I interned with the NAF and know how they operate. You will go for courses tire, both home and abroad sometimes most of them even go for one week course in Europe, joining the NAF is like getting into a tertiary institution, you will keep on developing and reading to you reach a point of saturation and the wonderful thing is, it is not limited to the officer cadres, even the rank and file of the NAF can go head to head with the officer cadre of the NA, the quest for personnel welfare and intellectual development is top notch and unrivaled in any military institution in West africa. if u said in term of personnel welfare and development, Navy came first and NAF followed but in term of enlistment, the two are very much corrupt than army gaskiya, talking from experience sir and I believe whosoever that had similar experience will support this. The son of who know that know somebody owns navy and Air Force partially. NN and NAF only like shouting merit yet they don't followed merit oh in every of their enlistment category. |

KODACK: Even jamb when they were using paper took 7 to 14 days.
When jamb changed to CBT, at first it was 4 days then later it became 2 days....don't know how many days now.
Then you say, Navy go mark.......they should probably provide scores na.
I smell fowl....... Even if I get paid to apply for Navy, I go collect the money do wrong Application and run......
Bros do you know that the most difficult recruit to enter is Navy followed by Airforce then Army. Navy recruit be like gold, your shit must be tight to get in..... Airforce recruit , you must have brains to get in, and na so-so course you go dey attend with unlimited exams (I know of a lot of graduates who are in this category, Man must survive pushed them in). Abeg, make I no talk Army own.
Army and Airforce are still more transparent in terms of enlistment. Air Force is not that transparent bro, if not for the first magic list, army is still very transparent in term of any recruitment process both Order rank and officer own. NN and NAF na man no man not on any merit at all especially that NN, they are nonsense even to enter their newly established military secondary school required long leg. |

And there is high tendency that selection board will be Oct not November. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by Prospect048: 7:14pm On Sep 13, 2019 |
EVarn: It is the people that were supposed to pass out October(Batch C2) that are now given additional time(Batch C1 was supposed to pass out September 26 or so), though I don't think the POP for Batch C2 will enter November, maybe late October.
So since the army is aware of the changes in NYSC timetable and they(the army) have initially announced that those who will pass out October should apply, then the NASB will definitely find a way to make accommodation for it. It's even very probable that the screening will come up November.
So just be hopeful. nothing concern army with any development of Nysc oh, it is clearly stated, those who will finish by Oct so what is the business of army with nysc time-table...I just believe that nothing is impossible sha, forget about whether army will look for way or not. God grace ni koko |

Kadiru080: I'm a current serving corp member, my pop was scheduled for october but was extended by 2 weeks which is probably first week of November. Hopefully if shortlisted can i still go for the selection board cos it was stated in the advert that only those who are to pass out by october can apply. already explained itself, though, I believe on luck, nothing is not possible but I think that board will come up next month. So hopefully, ur discharged might not meet up, but if luckily you got shortlisted, pray for the best, sometime, they can over look it unknowingly |
