BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Prosperity4All: 10:10pm On Jun 22, 2023
Ghost1994:
1. Avoid alpha beach road patapata during heavy rain

2. Don’t ever try to enter down orchid road no.

3. Try as much as possible to let your pointers, wipers and your dim light working perfectly before jetting out.

4. Avoid places you don’t really know their flood level.

5. During the heavy rain, find somewhere safe to park if you’ve not gotten a trip yet park your car, relax for about 25-40 minutes after the rain Lagos gutters would’ve been cleared a bit to proceed for hustle.

6. Community road Akoka is a death trap. Keep that at the back of your map.

7. It’s a season to make money but then you have to apply wisdom because rider that’s paying x2 of the money would want you to satisfy them by dropping them at their doorstep. But if by the way(s) you suspect the area is prone to flood, sharply end the trip at the beginning of the street offer a rider 100-200naira for his/her bike/keke fare.

8. Try as much as possible to work within the Circe/areas you know too well.

9. Don’t do 80-100klm during heavy. Abeg if you don’t love yourself we do. Why? Brake doesn’t work well when it’s rainy just a simple logic.

10. Off your car ac when you sight heavy flood in a street or on any road. Why? Because most of our cars are above 10yrs ago and there are some components in which water must not get into on your compressor it’ll damage your compressor quickly.

11. Work smart. Yes work smart— don’t work late start early close early. Because you can’t know all the whole roads in Lagos no matter how many decades you’ve been driving on Lagos road. Working late sometimes is a death trap to damage your vehicle because so many bad potholes you might not be able to see are trap to damage your shocks, tyre etc.

12. If you miss your turn, maybe you didn’t calculate well or map malfunctioning, don’t ever bother to reverse never ever think of that. No matter how much rider pressurize you just be calm and let him or her know you’ll remove some money out of his/her bills for compensation. 200-500 naira is Better to let go than loosing your car to accident or road lions (Lastma/Taskforce)

13. Never drag road with trailer or tankers. Those people doesn’t see on a normal day not to talk of rainy days. Be wise don’t let rider sweet talk you to be saying they’re late blablabla you’re not the cause of their lateness.

I’ll share my own work ethics

- I work basically on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday it’s a rushing day.

- I take Thursday off to relax and focus on my course

- Friday yes and Saturday I start working around 2pm why? Well I feel like that’s when the people started rushing out.

- I work on Sunday but I avoid island ajah,Lekki and the rest once it’s 1pm why? When you notice your app you’ll see it’ll all white once is getting to 2pm because riders don Dey house but on like mainland there are many churches. It’s a wisdom.

- routes I avoid on week days are:- 1. Egbeda, Ikeja in the morning is dead, ikotun igando, ekoro road, command road, Iyana ipaja, aboru, lasu, okoko, festac, mile 2, oshodi, Ikorodu never, sangotedo hell no, I can only drop a worthy trip at the airport and jet out immediately I avoid siting and waiting for unrealistic trips in airport unless I’m lucky if I’m driving out and I get a trip.

After Opic Berger I always avoid any trip going after Berger.

How do I cancel? Bolt shows me where I’m going so whenever I’m sure the area is part of my listed dead zone, I click on arrived, passenger phone is not working or passenger ask me to cancel. It’s work like magic on iPhone but not with androids. It’s help me avoiding any conversations with rider.

Note:- I accept every trips coming to my phone no matter how dead it is but I cancel once I feel is not safe for me and my car.

I try as much as possible to select the trip(s) above 1500. How will you know a trip coming to your phone is more than 1500? Any trip be it surge or no surge above 8klm is practically more than 1,500. Note I don’t care how much you collect because of bonus but all I know is that the money is above 1500.

My car is design to carry 4 and yes mini 4 not heavy make ups madams going to party and try to squeeze themselves in my mini sedan no! I don’t carry them I don’t want wahala.

How do you manage a rider whose street is bad
I’ll put a call through:-
Me: Sir/ma good morning this is the Uber ride you ordered
Rider: Good morning I’ll be expecting you.
M: sir/ma I’m sorry getting to the street now, my car has hit the ground severally it’s a low Corolla/Honda please I don’t mind since you don’t have load I’ll pay for your bike or marwa.

Reasonable rider who value life and property will agreed and even said don’t worry just give me few mins. But i manage if it’s elderly person or rider mentions she’s pregnant I’ll go BUT if rider acting somehow I won’t go.

Advice to newbie:- never allow rider to sweet talk you to drop him or her at unreasonable location. Avoid airport just drop off only. Never follow one way or brt lane even if you’re carrying buhari daughter, don’t try to reverse on the highway if you miss your way yes rider will shout but keep calm, make sure you confirm your credit alert before allowing rider off in your car, if you don’t have change offer to transfer airtime as their balance some will say yes and some will tell you to keep the change but remember it’s their money, use rider app to calculate the estimated price of the route you’re heading-it’ll help you determine if the route worth it coupled with the traffic, never fight physically with your rider some are walking ghosts, pay your commission once it’s getting above threshold, read signs, ask riders questions if the map is malfunctioning

AgricultureRe: Hidden Facts About Pig Farming (our Practical Experience) by Prosperity4All: 7:24pm On Jun 14, 2023
SmartFarming:
Continued From Friday

Circumstances beyond my control made it impossible for me to post until now. Please forgive me for not posting on the thread as promised.

Now to the substance.

When our pigs came on heat the first time, we decided not to cross them. Based on what we read, they were to come on heat again between 18 and 23 days. They came on heat about that time. What we didn't know was that, it took a long time to arrange for a boar to our farm since we didn't have one.

By the time we brought the boar to our farm, the gilts heat period was past. They could no longer be served. This cost us money. Money to rent the boar and transport it to our farm.

By the third heat period, we knew how long it would take to arrange for the boar. We got it in time and had our gilts served.

One gilt took in. The other did not.

We pregnant gilt delivered in the early hours of 3rd March 2018. It gave birth to 15 live piglets. However, the sow rejected every piglet it littered.

Later, we found out that, the sow needed to have been allowed to eat the after-birth it pushes out to accept that it had finished giving. birth. Generally, you will not be told this. We were raising against time to get the piglets to take in colostrum from the mum in order to build a strong immune system.

We called the vet and the extension officer. We followed their advice to the letter but all the piglets died by daybreak.

Please know this, you are not usually told that a pig can reject it's piglets. This situation can lead to a great loss to farmers.

The next problem was that the second gilt did not come on heat anymore. So we decided to sell it.

In our next post, we will discuss how we were able to get buyers for our pigs and the challenges we faced. Once we are done with the story, we will tell you the things you need to know before you venture into pig farming and why starting small was the best decision for us to make
What an experience
Kind of unique. Life is about challenges though

BusinessRe: How Access Bank And The Court Helped Me To Recover My Money From A Fraudster!!! by Prosperity4All: 7:49am On Jun 04, 2023
maureensylvia:
It happened in June this year, he deserted, tried calling him it was unreachable, His family and the police didn't help either.

I got the idea of complaining to his bank, I went to his bank on August (Access bank) they asked me why I didn't come all these while that he withdrew the last part of the money 4 days before I came!!! E pain me shaa o

The customer care directed me to court to get a court order to restrict the account, I went to court, got the court order(pics displayed) paid them 10% of the total money. The bank restricted his account.

Yesterday afternoon, I got a call to come over to the bank...the guy was trying to make a transfer but he couldn't which warranted him to go to the bank...
The customer care told me he has 80% of the money in his account that with my consent, they'll unfreeze it and pay me or I can wait till it's complete and take all... they were certain because it's a salary account... money must enter.

Though the guy pleaded with me to be paying 20k monthly buy omooorr I don't think I'll have such patience. The bank told him to be paying the 20k into his account till it completes.

so the ball is now in my court

All thanks to Access bank
Brave...kudos
Don't forget to add the 10% you gave court to what the fraudster owes you.
He will cough it out grin

TravelRe: Need Traveling Advice To Cotonou by Prosperity4All: 7:23pm On May 27, 2023
Declan1:
Do you have a low budget and planning to explore Benin Republic for leisure, vacation or business (Cotonou, Porto Novo) the sit of the greatest Agripreneurs incubation and training center founded in 1985 by name SONGHAI AGRIC CENTER or wish to extend your horizon to Togo post Covid 2021,

ROAD MAP
Take a Bus from any where in Nigeria to Lagos (Mile 2), but if your bus stops you at Alafia/ Wema Bank Bus Stop close to Alaba, take a bus to Mile 2 at N100 naira only, when you drop off, look ahead and see the Pedestrian bridge with shelter and walk towards it, by the right lane you will see vehicles..buses and cabs/sienna loading Seme Boarder or Badagry.

To save money, join a bus calling Badagry for N800 naira while cabs charge N3,500-4,000 to Seme Boarder. grin
(NOTE: Coming back is N700 naira with bus)
For a first timer, please make sure you hold your Yellow Card and ECOWAS or INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT, do not help anyone to carry his luggage/bag and also watch your own bag in case of contraband during searching else you will be questioned severely and delayed at almost all the Joint task force checking points along the road, keep in mind your reason for going to Benin and show your paper when demanded without smiling at all else you keep tipping till infinity.
The road is undergoing some construction works and is rated 35% good and 65% bad.

When you get to Badagry park get off and join cabs calling SEME BOARDER for N500 naira only outside the park at the round about, they will stop you at CONOIL FILLING STATION by the right hand side else ask the Driver or any lady to point ConOil Filling station for you.
(NOTE: Coming back is N300 naira only by cab)

You will see many Bike/Okada guys calling you to come so they can cross you to the Benin side, please save yourself and ignore them and walk to the Boarder gate in front of you if you have your Passport/Yellow Card.

Without smiling walk past the different Joint task force check points 500meters to the Seme boarder gate but if you are called go and meet them and they may search your bag for contraband or ask for your Passport/ Yellow Card and reason for going to Benin, show the officers your Passport and enter through the First Gate by the right hand, keep going by the right hand side to the Second gate where the Nigeria Stamping section is first, where you may be searched again and asked same questions...after you give your reason and Passport for Stamping OUT, irrespective of your Passport been (New/Virgin or Old) I realized N500 naira only is charged for Stamping, make sure you have N500 naira change before paying it...insist on N500 naira for Nigeria and turn to Benin Immigration for Stamping IN at N500 naira too...total N1,000 naira for both.
(NOTE: You repeat this STAMPING Process when coming back to Nigeria)

After Stamping OUT/IN, you keep moving by your right hand side to the Benin Gate and other Benin Immigration will call you to search you and see your Passport/yellow card and ask same questions after which you are in Benin side now.

CHANGING NAIRA TO CFA
You get the best daily rate at the Boarder than inside the city center because they are few and so monopoly,
If you want to travel with huge cash I would recommend you open an EcoBank Account and get the ATM card which you would use to draw cash when you arrive Benin.

SIM CARD
Immediately you enter Benin your SIM card will automatically Roam itself to MTN Moov which is the official network in Benin but charges N100 naira per minute call or N50 naira per page for text messages.
But if you wish to buy the MTN Moov SIM card, I recommend you buy at Cotonou/Porto Novo at 300CFA (N272 naira) but it is sold at the boarder for 1,000CFA (N909 naira)

LANGUAGES
The Benin people speak French, Yoruba and little English but some speak fluent English.

CHEAP COMFY HOTELS
I recommend you lodge at the Boarder or go to Porto Novo and continue the following day.
Freedom Hotel is 3 minutes walk to Abobo Beach with good standard rooms, water, fan or AC and 24hours light, good room service starting @ (6,000, 7,000 - 15,000CFA, N5,454 /N6,363 Naira)

1. Freedom Hotel (3 minutes walk to the Beach where you get coconut water and fish)
Boarder, directly opposite NSIA Bank
Tony +2.2.9.9.7.6.7.3.2.2.5 call whatapp

2. Movic Hotel - Avakwa Junction, Porto Novo

3. Delta Force - Avakwa Junction, Porto Novo

4. Palace Hotel - Porto Novo

5. Freedom Palace Hotel - Porto Novo

ROAD TO TOGO, COTONOU
PORTO NOVO - SONGHAI AGRICULTURE CENTER
If you desire to go to TOGO,
Join a car from the border going to Cotonou at 500CFA N454 naira, stop at LAKONGI and enter TOGO motor at 3,000CFA N2,727 naira.

If you desire to go to PORTO NOVO - SONGHAI AGRICULTURE CENTER, take a bike from the border and stop at the Round About (KEREEFU) at 300CFA N272 naira, left goes to Cotonou and right goes to Porto Novo, join Porto Novo Bus at 200CFA N181 naira or Cab 500CFA N454 naira to stop you in front of Songhai Center, they charge 500CFA for Farm Tour.
NOTE: Along this Porto Novo road is Avakwa Junction where 2 of those Hotels listed above are located while the last 2 Hotels are located after the bridge before Songhai Agriculture Center.

Do enjoy your stay as I did...
Nice directions. Are you a surveyor grin

The problem am having lately with Nairaland is that the platform is now full of teenagers and miscreants who have turned a hitheto serious platform to a playground for kids.

Seun and Moderators should do well to sift out kids who make silly create posts and waste readers precious time.
They should edit and approve topics created before it is even allowed to drop on any section.
Nairaland should not be allowed to be childish play ground for children like this poster
Not just teenagers but Uneducated ones at that.

Something isn't clear to me. Project financing :Dangote Group =50%

Is it that Nigeria banks gave Dangote loans to the tone of 50% of their own initial investments or got a share holding of 50% and how comes Dangote group held almost 86% share of this refinary when NNPC controlled 20% ownership?
The Banks are not on the Board however Dangote Group is exposed (borrowed) upto 50% of the project cost.
