Music/Radio / Hiness - Work Remix Ft Classiq. A Review By Sam Art by psalmsmiles(m): 3:24pm On Nov 07, 2021
December some two years ago, afro pop singer - HiNess released a hustle themed single titled "work". It received minimum promotion and failed to fly.

Years later, he released a remix of the song. This time, collaborated with the arewa rap sensation - Classiq.

The holy book says faith without works is dead and the track is themed after this verse. He takes over the mic like a preacher enlightening the masses - his listeners in this case on the reasons for working, hard.

Captain sama - Classiq takes handles the second verse with a bout of impressive 16 bars. Like always, he leaves the listeners wowed. The synergy between both artists is amazing. Besides the afrobeat instrumental and mixing by Pedro, the collaborative efforts from both artists made the song fly.

The remix of work is an upgrade from the single. Spanning a little over three minutes, the track surprisingly has a high replay value.

Work remix is a motivational track - a hustler's anthem. With a little more promotion, the song might hit the roof.

Work is available on all streaming platforms.

all I see is a failure celebrating a failure. A minister of labour in a country where one part or the other is always engaging on strike is being celebrated by the president of a failed country.

Lawyer turn herbalist. Nothing man eye no go see inside this gbege of a country.
I'm more pissed at the fact that he's an indecisive mo.ron. A real man should know better than that. Pick a career and go in it.
It's either you're a babalawo or a fake lawyer. How can you mix the two?

All I see here is break down of how a government sponsors a crisis to create an avenue for them to loot funds in the name of securing weapons. It's a cycle of destruction, madness and greed and our lives are the pawns in this crazy chess game.

I dedicate this FTC to all those who lost their lives to one insecurity crisis or the other from the last 6 years. You deserved better. Even hell is a better place

A country with citizens that believe that harvesting human parts will make them wealthy will forever remain poor.
It's a shame at how deeply stupidity has become a part of us and how we have lost our humanity in the chase of clouds and shadows. They should be punished by death by hanging or worse

Music/Radio / Trapped In My Head By Emperor Bling - A Project Review By Sam Art by psalmsmiles(m): 6:43pm On Apr 05, 2021
Famished and in desperate search for any thing I could eat as I hadn't eaten before heading for the studio since morning, I entered a local restaurant. Low-key but quite fancy, I ordered for a place of jollof rice.

Emperor Bling's recent Extended play came into play as I waited for the meal. Titled "Trapped in m head", the sonic mix came accompanied with happy memories making me forget about the state of my bowels for a while.

The project consists of three tracks. The intro, nothing you can do and empire. Spanning about 7 minutes in total, the songs projects the artist's state of mind while recording.

In the intro, the artist speaks his heart out over somber background beats. About how young people tend to focus on trying to get the whole world and forget what's most important; the little blessings they have. He continued as he told of the project was made from his happy place and he hopes to project that level of happiness to everyone who listens to the music. A reflective speech.

The waitress serves the food, gifts me a friendly wink and dashes off. Bad girl! I smile as I feast on the food.

The next track comes up. In "nothing you can do", the artiste lets his fans into his world. Story of a bad girl who wanted him who loved him for the bad boy he was. Sharing the kinds of naughty things he would do to "shawty" even though he didn't have feelings for her over the modern instrumental. Catchy beat, nice structure and hook. Emperor Bling was very high on himself while recording the track, apparently.

It didn't take long to consume the food so I sit back, allowing the food to digest as I observed the environment. The waitress comes back to pick the plates. I reached for her hand gently, told her she was pretty and watched the blush form on her face. She appreciated and whisked the plates away. Naughty, pretty and timid, my spec!

"Empire" plays next. Trap song, the emperor brags of his empire over the beat with his baritone voice. The kind of song that makes you nod your head intermediately like an agama lizard. He tells of how unstoppable he can be when he sets his mind to do a thing, a giant. Hard tune, well produced. The man's literally on fire for real!

I settle the bills and head off home but stop barely a minute after leaving the fold joint. The waitress calls me "bros" as heads towards me. I become worried for a minute. Did I forget something? She greets hi and asks for name, avoiding eye contact the whole time. A grin spreads across my face as it hits me she wants my contact. I ask for her phone, input my digits, save it as "Sam tall guy" and ask her to call me when she closes.
Boss moves.

I head home smiling. Perhaps the last song had it's effect already so I put the EP on repeat.

Trapped in my head by Emperor Bling is an amazing piece of art. I hope to hear more from the artiste.

Music/Radio / Mark 4 - "Rebirth". A Brief Review. by psalmsmiles(m): 11:00pm On Mar 01, 2021
Following his brief career break, phenomenal English and Hausa rap icon "Mark 4" is back to the game.

In his new track titled "REBIRTH", the lyricist makes it obvious he's back to dominate the scene. While the reasons behind his abrupt break are still unclear, major Arewa hip-hop heads can attest to his superb flow and delivery.

Witty lines, hardcore delivery and flow, Mark 4's comeback might just be the next big thing in the rap industry.

"Rebirth" might just be the next favorite song in town!

Music/Radio / Krane Boy - "Pleasures". A Music Review By Sam Art by psalmsmiles(m): 1:21pm On Jan 23, 2021
A typical listener would be amused at the cover art and title of "Kraneboy's" latest single -"pleasures". Begging a question of "what manner of pleasures?".

Using a afro pop-dancehall mix, the artist does wonder to the ears. While he played a bit around a woman's love and passion, the message is evident. The greatest form of passion for Kraneboy remains music!

With a combo of ear pleasing vocals and a production work, "pleasures" takes us on a trip of pure bliss into music. Spanning a total of 2:52minutes, Pleasures is definitely the kind of music to put on repeat.

The artist appears to be a protege of Wande coal as its hard to really tell if its oxlade, Wande or Kraneboy on the beat.

Food is sweet, your partner's body is pleasing but the greatest pleasures in life remains in music.
Krane boy has done well in starting his race to the stars.
