After the release of the Pouvoir 2 and Pouvoir 2 Pro, TECNO went ahead to release an 18K Gold Limited Edition of the device. We thought that was the end but TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air has just been silently pushed to the market.

The new Pouvoir 2 Air is the lowest edition of all the new Pouvoir devices with its specifications. It is powered by Android 8.1 (Go edition) has a 1GB RAM and a 16GB internal memory.

TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air Design and Display
The smartphone has a plastic body and measures 159.75 x 76.81 x 8.6mm in dimensions.

At the front of the phone lies on a 6.0-inch full view display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The LCD also has an aspect ratio of 18:9. Below the screen lies a large chin while at the edge of the device lies the volume and power buttons.

On the back panel lies a horizontally placed single primary camera. The sensor lies beside an LED flash. The back panel also has a centrally situated fingerprint scanner.

You can find the phone in colour options such as Midnight Blue and black.

TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air Camera
The Pouvoir 2 Air has a 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture alongside an LED flash for capturing images in low light. The sensor can shoot videos at 720p at speeds of 30fps. It also supports HDR and Autofocus functions. The selfie snapper measures at 8MP and comes with an LED flash.

TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air Hardware and Software
Under the hood, the smartphone has a MediaTek MT6580 processor. This chipset runs at 1.3GHz and works alongside a Mali-400MP2 GPU.

The device offers 1GB worth of RAM and an internal storage space of 16GB. However, you can extend the storage to 64GB with a MicroSD card.

The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) wrapped with Tecno’s in-house HiOS skin.

TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air Battery & Network Connectivity
This newest addition to the Pouvoir series has the support from a massive 5000mAh battery just like its predecessors. This capacity offers extended use times and longer standby times.

Like most phones, the Pouvoir 2 Air has dual slots for Nano SiMs. The device supports 2G and 3G networks however it does not work with 4G LTE. The device works with WiFi standards including Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct and Hotspot.

Its other connectivity options include Face Unlock and a Bluetooth v.40. It also has a MicroUSB port for mass storage and charging functions.

The duo of TECNO Camon 11 and Camon 11 Pro are among the impressive series of smartphones, released by TECNO this year. The Camon 11 Pro comes as a better and upgraded version of its predecessor — the recently launched Camon 11.

While both devices share many similarities, the newer model features a number of improvements as regards chipset, camera setup, storage configurations, and others. With such advanced offerings in the TECNO Camon 11 Pro, it is no doubt more expensive than the Camon 11.

In the heart of this review, I will be unboxing a brand new TECNO Camon 11 Pro. Let me cut to the chase and start the review with gusto:

Looking at the picture above, you can see that TECNO has ditched the regular pouch on their mobile devices in the Camon family as this Camon 11 Pro’s pouch looks much better compared to what we are used to.

 Camon 11 Pro Unboxing — DESIGN

Concerning the design, the phone’s aesthetical and architectural makeup readily shows it is a lookalike of the Camon 11. They both come with the same dimension and aspect ratio.

The Camon 11 Pro has a glossy and reflective body with its volume adjustment buttons and power/lock button on the right-hand side. Turning towards the left-hand side, you will see its SIM card and micro SD card slots. The loudspeaker grills, the micro USB port, and 3.5mm headphone jack sit at the bottom.

As can be seen in a number of latest releases from this phone maker, there is a shift in design which can be noticed at top of the device: The 3.5mm audio jack has been moved to a different section, which is at the bottom of the mobile phone. This is a vantage position for the jack as you can now put your smartphone in your pocket with ease while listening to music.

In the camera department, its 16+5 MP dual rear camera setup can be seen slightly above the the quad-LED flash. Its rear-mounted fingerprint sensor lies a few inches away from the quad-flash. At the front section, there is a 24-megapixel selfie snapper with LED flash.

Just like the smaller Camon 11, this upgraded model also comes with the same screen-to-body ratio of 87.5% and a rectangular notch at the top part of its screen display.

It promises the best of colors with its aspect ratio of 19:9 and brightness of 500 nits. The TECNO Camon 11 Pro, equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22, 6GB of RAM, 64GB ROM (expandable up to 256 via microSD card), and a strong 3750-mAh battery, should offer a remarkable performance. The final quarter of 2017 saw the launch of another TECNO flagship phone, the Phantom 8. The mobile phone giant made significant improvements in the product’s specifications making it a worthy successor to the Phantom 6 and 6 Plus.
Another exciting smartphone from TECNO, the Camon 11 Pro was released into the markets a few days ago. This phone also comes with features that make it a worthy investment.


Camon 11 Pro vs Phantom 8 – Design and Display

Both phones share the Diamond Fire look which many users love. However, a critical look at both phones shows that the Camon 11 Pro has the upper hand concerning design.
For one the Camon 11 Pro has a notch display at the front which holds the front camera, receiver, and the light sensor. Smaller bezels surround the screen with a chin at the bottom. You can find the fingerprint scanner lined against the LED flash and the cameras at the back of the phone.
On the other hand, the Phantom 8 has curvy edges and a fingerprint scanner placed beside the rear camera. It also has larger bezels than the Camon 11 Pro. These bezels house three navigation keys.

There's also a significant difference in the screens of both phones. The Camon 11 Pro has a large screen size of 6.2 inches under an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen at a resolution of 720 x 1500 pixels. However, the 11 Pro has a relatively low pixel density of 268 PPI.
But the Phantom 8 wins this round with its impressive 386 PPI. This pixel density with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels on a 5.7-inch IPS display offers better images than the Camon 11 Pro.

This Phantom 8 also has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a screen to body ratio of 70.66 % while the Camon 11 Pro has its aspect ratio and screen to body ratio of 19: 9 and 81.58 % respectively.

Few things I look out in a phone
1. Weight: The Camon 11 pro = 158g lighter than the Huawei Nova 3I = 169g. I give it to Canon 11 pro
2: Software/Hardware:
The Huawei Nova 3i integrates the famous Huawei Kirin 710 chipset which has an octa-core processor and clocks at a speed of 2.2GHZ alongside a Mali-G51 MP4 GPU while the Camon 11 Pro, on the other hand, features a much lower Mediatek Helio P22 Chipset with an octa-core processor which clocks at 2.0 GHz and integrates the PowerVR GPU.

In addition, the Huawei nova 3i has two variants goffering a 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal Storage as well as a 6GB RAM device offing 128GB internal storage. On the other hand, the Camon 11 Pro uses the 6GB RAM and 64GB Internal storage. However, if you want more memory for the Huawei nova 3i, you will have to let go of one of your SIM slots. I still give it to Camon 11 pro

Both devices run on the Andriod 8.1 Oreo. However, the Huawei nova 3i features the Huawei EMUI 8.2 Skin and the TECNO’s HiOS 4.1 Skin on top for the Camon 11 Pro.

3. Camera: The Tecno Camon 11 Pro features a dual rear camera of 16MP + 5MP with Quad LED- flash while having a 24MP selfie camera (with its own LED flash). The Huawei nova 3i, on the other hand, has a 16MP main shooter with f/2.2 aperture and a secondary 2MP depth sensor camera with LED flash. For its front camera, you have a is dual camera feature of a 24MP main shooter with f/2.0 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor camera.
I still give it to Tecno Camon 11 pro.

4. Battery andConnectivity:
The Camon 11 Pro apparently has a higher battery capacity than the Huawei nova 3i. It features a 3,750mAH non-removable battery while the nova 3i sports a 3,340mAh. However, both devices support quick charging and the 4G LTE connectivity.
Still give it to Tecno Camon 11 pro.

5. SIM Support: They are both dual SIM smart devices. However, the Camon 11 Pro is a dual nano-SIM device and has a dedicated MicroSD slot. The nova 3i, on the other hand, possess a Hybrid Dual SIM feature which means you can either have one nano Sim and use the other slot for your memory card or use it for two Nano SIM card. Therefore there is no dedicated SIM slot.

In addition, they both have WiFi, WiFi direct, Bluetooth 4.2 and a Micro USB port which supports USB On The Go.

6. Price and Avaliabilty:
The Huawei Nova 3I is a budget smartphone designed by the Huawei brand, but it is still a lot pricier than the Camon 11 Pro. Whereas it gives you a silightly better Camera and processor speed at N105,000, the Camon 11 Pro will be the more preferable option. The Camon 11 Pro features a bigger battery, RAM and storage options without having to lose one of your SIM slots and all of this you get at a price range of N76,000 - 77,000.

With this review, I will prefer the Tecno Camon 11 Pro for so many reason which I will some up to the fact that it's even very affordable more than the Huawei Nova 3I.
