Hi guys, I need some clarifications on some sections of the application form:
1. Address: Is it advisable to use office address rather than home address? My office address is the same address on my bank statement. My duty post in often is remote areas and the office address of my organization is what I've always used as my address and for correspondence purposes.
I ask because further down that questions, they ask for how many years/days/months one has lived in that address, which suggest they might mean home address.
2. Will not giving info about parents do any harm? I can see its not a mandatory section.
3. Section about visits to other countries in the last ten years. I live and work outside Nigeria at the moment and I tried to include my present country of residence into the provided space (including arrival date) but its not letting me navigate away without putting the date I left the country. I can't put a date because I'm still there. Is it okay to leave out this section? Will it impact my application in any way?
4. The section on knowing where I'll be staying in the UK.
Is it okay to answer NO and then explain that I'll be renting an Airbnb for the first month while finding a suitable accommodation?

Thanks everyone |

Congratulations and thanks for sharing. I hope to arrive in January for a masters in Software Engineering. mdeeokoye: So i will share my experience. I got in Oct 17th 2020, I happen to be a software engineer and i can say that there are lots of opportunities in Software engineering once you know the craft and got some good experience. I got in on a Saturday and started applying on Monday lol. I enrolled and uploaded my CV in Total Jobs and edited my CV and took out the locations from my work places (watched this from a video and felt it made some sense) but my last role as a Software Engineer in one of the Big fours and a dev project for a US firm i added the location because i felt it will stand out. I had a family friend that got me a GifGaff SIM the weekend i got in because i felt they will call. On Monday i received lots of calls and started interviews the next day, interestingly most of them went well, for those with software experience just study algorithms and data structures, although different firms have their own type of questions. One of the recruiters i spoke to that day said she has a role that just has two stages of interview and they are one of the big players in the Insurance sector in Uk and US, i saw the JD i loved it!, did the first interview, it was a Q&A with their Head of Engineering and some senior engineers, i was struggling to hear some of the questions but again they were not so difficult i did well and they scheduled the next day for the final phase which was a coding test to be submitted in two hours and i did it before the allocated time and went into a Pair Programming exercise and as God may have it also went well. We discussed salaries and they gave me an offer on Friday same week and i resumed 2nd December. I recently applied for NI so the HR said that would not be a problem as i should update it on the portal once its ready. About my experiences so far, its been an interesting one even though we are all working from home due to the lockdown and most developers are scattered around the country and it seems to be a work from home policy till june next year i think. Lastly i was specific about the firm because they are amongst the list of firms that can provide sponsorship and we spoke about its possibility next year. If you are a developer i think you will do fine in the UK! Cheers!!! |

Sorry I had to bring up this OANDA issue again. Did you guys notice that even though the rate, for Nov 26, mentioned by the ECO in the refusal letter was 504.773, she actually used the other rate, 512.490, while arriving at the applicants monthly salary equivalent in Pounds Sterling? If in doubt, do the conversion using both rates and see which one gives you £967.72 To be on the safer side, I think it's better to err on the side of caution. kingsilly: I’ve been seeing words thrown both way, so I had to gather information before posting. Gbp is up Ngn is down Below is a screenshot from someone in Uk visit visa and image from his denials and calculation by the embassy and date He was denied visa on the 26th of November Below are the rates. If you still think you are right after this, nothing can be done |

If you pay additional money, how will it reflect on your CAS? Or will the student be issued a new CAS? Osed: Or you pay additional money towards your school fees so you have to show less amount of money on your account. |

If your school has an online payment system, you should be able to pay with the debit card issued on your Dom account. anthonanik: Good evening gurus in the house.
I'm unable to make tuition deposit using my domiciliary account(us dollar) to teesside university account(pounds)
I'm using Access Bank domiciliary account and I asked them before funding the account and I was told that I can use it.
Now they r telling to convert my money to Naira and use form A for the transaction.
I tried using my access more app but once I get to making payment,it will include offshore charge and other charges like VAT which I agreed to pay but later it will say, you are not allowed to transfer. Meanwhile access transfer limit is 5k per day.
Please guys anyway around it |

For a 2 year course, you will pay £(470+470+235). That's £1175 roughly $1598. For those asking, IHS fee is £470/y. You get an extra 4 months leave after your course and for an extra leave of 6 months or less, you pay the £235 to cover that. Your dependant pays the same amount as you. jay3012: What of a 2yrs and 6months course.. How do u calculate the extra 6months |
