PtBlank:
Just got my PPR. I'll share some backstory later today. Good luck to everyone.
Timeline:
Application submitted: 27 December
Biometrics: 29 December @ VFS London
PPR: 22 January

I have a master's degree from the UK and I'm going for a graduate certificate in Canada. I declared my master's degree in my application. This is for those who have a master's degree and are going for a lower qualification, I don't think you'll have a problem if you can justify your decision. My current job title aligns with the Graduate Certificate so I justified that in my SOP.

Hi @nnamdi346,

Given that you applied from the UK, did you have to do medicals? I'd also want to know if you used the old or new portal. Thank you.

PPR request quys
The journey was not easy sha (who nor go nor know)

First application sumbmitted
MAY 9 2023
Biometric MAY 15
Medical request June 8
Denied that same June 8 ( these day I was like my village people has visited me because I thought once invited for medical there is high chance of approval, thanks to bobomaigida he encouraged me during those trial time and I also sent reconsideration and it was noted in the gcms note but the VO didn’t accept that there was a mistake in the application so i prepared again for four months again and fired again but POF was almost spoiling things during the time exchange rate was going up but GOD pass them
Second application submitted
October 23
Upfront medical update NOV 9
Eligibility started the day which I got PPR
PPR dec 20 these was the best day of my life

Through out these application I learnt so many things

My first advice would be if you know you really want to come to Canada don’t give up ( na who give up na loose)

My second advice would be if your are applying for visa or any important thing, please be sourounded by people that have positive mindset and people who can encourage you during those trial time because it play role in your success

Thanks , it will end in praise
Can you share the reason for your first refusal?

Thanks chief. I've done the needful
Viruses:
The penalty was issued before you paid for parking so the full penalty fine subsists.

It will be wise to pay the £35 balance before it escalates further.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by PtBlank: 10:26pm On Oct 03, 2023
Thanks boss. I just paid them make them carry their wahala go.

Lexusgs430:
The money you paid through ringo, was to park your vehicle.......

Unfortunately, when you paid ringo, a parking enforcement ticket, had already been issued.......

Solution - : Just pay the £35, or else this £35, would metamorphose into £800........😂

Hello people, I need a little help on how to go about this please.

I got a £25 parking ticket at Birmingham City centre for parking without displaying a ticket.

Tbh, I had no idea it was a park and display as I'm not familiar with the area. The taxi driver I met at the spot advised me to download Ringo and pay via it.

Long story short, I parked at 10.30 a.m., paid with Ringo around 3 p.m. (no thanks to the network at Macdonald Burlington) and got back to my car around 5:30 p.m. with a ticket (and instructions on how to pay the £25) on my windshield. The timestamp on the ticket read 11:00 a.m.

I mailed Birmighman City Council telling them I had paid £10 via Ringo and asked for a link to pay £15, to make the £25. Whoever it was that responded acted like they didn't read my email and kept mentioning £25. To beat time, I sent them a £15 postal order and a the transaction ID of the £10 payment to Ringo (In my mind £25 don complete).

Few weeks later, they've now sent me a letter asking for the full £50 less the £15 I paid earlier (£35).

Shouldn't the £10 I paid to Ringo count? Am I wrong not to have paid the £25 they asked?

So guys on this credit card and credit score matter, how do the credit agencies arrive at the initial score they allocate?

I remember signing up with Experian in February and never logged in until early June only to see a score of 757/999.

I later got an Aqua CC late June and I noticed they also allocated me a score of 530/710 from TransUnion which falls in the "Very poor" category. My bank also shows the same TransUnion score. I have never signed up for an account with TransUnion.

I am not on the electoral roll yet and I plan to get on ASAP. I have never missed any payment (except for my Google photos subscription once £1.59 which I quickly rectified) All my rent and utility bills have been via direct debits. I just wasn't expecting a score so abysmally low.
Is the score allocation normal or is there something specifically I can do to improve on it.

Please seniors help my ministry o

How do you guys get biometrics appointment date? is there a trick to this? There are literally no dates for the next 30 days except Prime Time and Premium appointments!
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by PtBlank: 12:00pm On Jun 09, 2021
Thanks, I'll have a look again
AAO7:
It’s possibly because you’re picking the slots with an arrow. They’re “paid” or prime time.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by PtBlank: 9:58am On Jun 09, 2021
There are many available slots for next week. The problem is once I select a timeslot, a popup appears asking me to confirm and after confirmation, another popup comes up asking if I wanted Superpriority with an option to choose 'super-priority' or click 'no, thanks.'

If I click 'no, thanks' I am taken back to the appointment page instead of the checkout page. I only get to the checkout page if I select super-priority. I have tried this with different dates and it's still the same. Of course, I don't want super-priority.

AAO7:
Try later dates…. You should get some free dates later

Hey people, when applying for one's dependant, are we to select Student visa or Tier 4 (General)? I'm aware it's now called Student Visa but both options (Student visa &Tier 4 General student visa) are still available on the application page dropdown menu. Thank you!

I thought so too only to find out we are about 6 Nigerians in my department. You have to understand that not everyone is on Nairaland. And yes, I'm at Staffordshire University.
Choconilla:
I don't see much Nigerian students heading to Staffordshire University from posts here, please is their anything I need to know?

Why isn't it a hot spot for Nigerian students?
