Not a problem IMO. I do have the same issues too and sometimes it can be frustrating but overtime you have to learn to accept yourself the way you are.
One thing though, it may be that you do see yourself as inferior to others. I had that problem when i first entered college but thank God i learnt to overcome it and i grew to be a better person.

Put your energy into something you love doing, try and get out as much as you can. Church, a hobby . . . anything that keeps you constantly in the company of others. Soon u'll start enjoying life and learn to open up a bit more. Dont beat yourself, there are millions like you.

In these end times, we are seeing so many things that we are now forced to ask ourselves if it is worth it. Yes it is okay to justify our every move in the name of God. Hells tomorrow if RCCG decides to build a multi-billion dollar airport to park their planes, it will also be justified (In the name of GOD). Afterall Convenant Uni was built by a church and yet over half the total congregation of that church cannot afford to send their kids to a school they contributed to build, (all in the name of GOD)

Thank you so much Esss. I used to attend winners chapel in college days with a friend and i remember us having to bag 2 offerings - 1 for normal church offering and the other for Covenant Uni building offering.
Today 90% of those attending Covenant Uni are the children of the muslims, atheists and others who do not attend Winners chapel neither contributed 1 kobo to its building . . . where are the children of those who contributed their sweat "willingly" to this edifice? You guessed right, still struggling with JAMB to enter UniPort!

Perhaps we need to remind some that N7.7b is much more than the national yrly budgets of some countries in Africa. Maybe we should tell them that the development of a nation and how spiritual its people is not defined by how large their auditoriums are.

I hear so many crying Adeboye on this thread . . . funny that the name Jesus Christ comes second to that of their "daddy".

LMAO!!!! Aaarrrgghhh…. So let me see if I get this straight… It is better for these people to use their money to buy Mercedes benz for SELF instead but it is not ok for them to put the money together to build the biggest Auditorium where they can worship God in ??

Did you think about that one before you posted it or did you think that somehow just posting it will make your stand better?? So your family owning Mercedes benz for SELF is not love of Money but these people choosing to Build the Biggest house so they can Worship God in it is LOVE OF MONEY ?? You seriously need to check yourself cause you can not see in this case which group actually made the most sacrifice here even in my own eyes as a human being … LMAO!!!

THIS IS AMAZING ~!!!!!LMAO!!!!

Incredible! What point were you trying to make here? What part of my point do you require that i mention 1000x before you get it?
- the problem is not whether you build a church or not or buy a car . . . the problem is where do your priorities lie? In building the world's largest auditorium with the money of a people for whom 70% of them live below the poverty line or building up human temples for the Holy Ghost?

Kobojunkie:

Again, unless you have God’s word outrightly saying that, you have nothing to offer but your opinion to push on others and that does not hold water at all when it comes to the Christian debate or living. A man should not sell his mercedes benz just cause in your mind you have made owning a Mercedes as sin for you when God has in no wise said it is so for all.

The Disciples who went on to antioch, ephesus, corinth built for God churches/temples/auditoriums for where they would all gather to worship. Please look it up in the Bible and in Roman history. NO WHERE did JESUS say IF YOU SPEND more than 1000 dollars, you spend too much in building a temple/church/auditorium but if you want to know, take a trip to rome and ask to be shown some of the many churches that used to exist and you might be amazed.

mba again you are committing the fallacy of reading YOUR OWN OPPINIONS into my post. Where did i indicate it was a sin to be rich? where have i said it is a sin to own a mercedes benz? My dad owns one and other family members have theirs . . . are they in sin? I think not.

God never said it is a sin to be rich, He however warns against the love of money. It is that love for money that is manifested in the responses of many who are in support of the N7.7b auditorium. The decietfulness of riches, the pride of life and the lust of the eyes/flesh is what is driving many who see the building more as a thing of pride that as another place to worship.

The minute the object becomes more important than its maker, it is a cause for alarm.

Kobojunkie:

So in essence, God changed after Jesus died?? And so meaning no body should go to the temple to worship?? You mean for the fact that even after Jesus went up to heaven, the disciples continued to worship and praise God in the temple in Vain?? I suggest you pick up your bible and read to learn about your God.

The disciples (at least those in Jerusalem) continued to worship in the temple but what of those at antioch, ephesus, corinth? What of the greeks and gentiles? did they also have to take a yearly pilgrimage to Jerusalem to worship?

What of the church in the house of Aquilla and Priscilla? How much did it cost? When did they collect a building offering to build it?
Phillip spoke to the Eunuch in which temple? Paul was met on the road to Damascus, was it while he branched into a temple to worship?

Again you misconstrue my point. It is no sin to build a church . . . it is a gross misplacement of priorities to spend such a colloasal amount of money constructing a building meant for worship when God is more interested in the hungry souls of men.
Religion / Re: Redeemed Church Opens World's Biggest Auditorium, Costs N7.7b by PTH(m): 8:14pm On Dec 17, 2007
Kobojunkie:

Yet the same Jesus had rich friends such as Nicodemus and The Centurion among others whom he dined with without condemning them for being rich?? You have to be joking here @PTH. Being Rich(Wealthy)  has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with your soul. If that was the case, you might as well condemn Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Job, David and the many men God made rich and Jesus quoted. Dude be careful how you trying to twist verses to suit your opinion.

nba dont misquote me, i was merely responding to "gospelman's" false theory that being rich = being a christian. No sir.
I believe strongly that God wants us to prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers . . . i believe God does not want us to lack ANY good thing . . . however i stand firmly against the current propagation of the gospel as a money-minting religion!

God wants us to be rich BUT He is more interested in the richness of our spiritual lives than how fanciful our cars are. Abraham and the others you mention were rich but you will agree with me that not once did God mention his riches as being of that much importance.

Kobojunkie:

In essence, have you convinced yourself that people can not longer voluntarily come together to want to construct this sort of buildings for God?? Is it that you have only found these people guilty of not doing things as you want instead and so find them guilty of SIN

again you try to force wrong assumptions into my post. I have not accused anyone of sin . . . it is no sin to donate your money to the church, however what is at play here is a matter of wrong priorities . . . God is more important in our souls than how large your church is . . . you wont be going to heaven with your church. That building will one day be destroyed but you will have to give account of your life and not how much you contributed in building offering.

Kobojunkie:

Jesus came to give life that we may have life and have it more abundantly. If Jesus allowed himself to be buried in the grave of a rich man and was able to afford his own taxes, and the same God blessed people over and over, are you saying that cause you do not feel comfortable with that aspect of God means God no longer does that today??

my question is simple, look at the above in highlights. What is your own idea of the "life" Christ came to give u abundantly? A life of flashy cars, good clothes and rich mansions only?

Kobojunkie:

You mean the part about Joseph becoming the second richest man in Egypt at the time was not God’s idea of prosperity too?? Should that be skipped cause you say so??

Joseph was regarded as a "prosperous" man while still a slave. . . he was regarded as a "prosperous" man IN PRISON.
What form of prosperity was the bible alluding to there?

Kobojunkie:

So We should completely omit the main miracle and just focus on the fact that he borrowed 2 fishes and then loaves of friend from the boy to create so much more ( abundance) for the people?? Do you see how myopic this view of yours is yet ??

not my point at all. The point is simple, through that miracle Christ brings several lessons to the fore . . . that He can provide even when we think that what we have is too small and that it is not what you have in your pocket that defines you as a person.

You quoted Deut 8 but i fail to see a single point there.

@ cutebabe,
please read my latest rejoinder to kobojunkie . . .

thanks for pointing out John 2:12-16 however may i draw your attention to Mark 13: 1 And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!
2 And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

One more cogent point that you overlook . . . the temple in Jerusalem was significant up until His death on the cross . . . after which the emphasis is now on US as temples of the Holy Spirit. Consider this story:

John 4: 20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

that hour came after His death when the veil of the temple was ripped apart. Now we worship God as a spirit NOT cocooned within the mercy seat of the temple in Jerusalem but as an omnipotent and omnipresent God who now declares that were 2 or 3 are gathered together IN MY NAME there He is in their midst . . . it may be under a tree, it may be in a N7.7b auditorium, the most important point is God's presence.

cutebabe:

I don't know why you all expected Jesus to have built a temple when he had but 12 disciples and was on a mission of being sacrificed so that some 2000 years later millions of people will be going to church and inherently need the large building.

But have you ever wondered why Paul and the early disciples did not collect building offerings to build the world's largest masoleum allegedly "for God"?
Religion / Re: Redeemed Church Opens World's Biggest Auditorium, Costs N7.7b by PTH(m): 7:30pm On Dec 17, 2007
@ kobojunkie, you are getting me wrong. No where did i say that building an auditorium is sin. Lai lai . . . Christ used the Jewish synagogues in existence then to preach, He worshipped in the temple and God Himself was the one who gave Solomon the dimensions of his great temple.

Here is my argument if only you people will remove the veil from your eyes . . . After the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God moved from dwelling in the temples built with hands to the temple built without hands, our bodies as temples of the Holy Ghost.
What is the purpose of building a structure for N7.7b in a land overflowing with spiritual and physical poverty? Which is more important, souls or the temple?

You can argue with me that the building was meant to accomodate more people but lets be sincere, how many of those dancing around the auditorium are truly saved? On the last day God will not ask how tall you church was.

Where are the witnesses to islam's denial of Christ's death?

Where is the injil and torah allah sent down and confirmed since ours is corrupted?

Did allah not say by a hatman decree that ALL muslims are meant to go down into hell?

Those are three clear questions that deserve an answer. Rather you prefer to dance around them with long sentences.
Religion / Re: Redeemed Church Opens World's Biggest Auditorium, Costs N7.7b by PTH(m): 7:12pm On Dec 17, 2007
Another "gospelman" with no knowledge of the gospel.

gospelman:

I am not a member of RCCG, but if they can build God a house worth that amount, that means they are big.
Only the rich can do that and I am proud of them for that.It is an auditorium for God nor for Cinema, or casino.

I hope you have come across portions of the bible where Christ addressed the rich. I'll help you;
Matthew 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Mark 10:23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

gospelman:

Have you found out how much was used to build some Cinemas, Casinos etc. But once it has to do with men of God doing well and not begging anybody, some folks who call themselves Christians begin to raise a dust up.

This analogy beggars belief. Casinos and cinemas generate their own revenue through business deals and investments. They dont rip the people off in the name of building and seed offerings.

gospelman:

The poor will always be around, it is only the Gospel than can raise them out of penury to a place of prosperity not the money you give them,ok?

The sole purpose of the gospel is not to come and make you rich.
How do you measure "prosperity"? By the size of your wallet?
The bible says - Genesis 39:2 And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

Joseph was a servant yet properous? This is and indication that God's idea of "prosperity" and ours are not the same.

gospelman:

So leave Pastor Adeboye alone. He's got bucks! Did he ask you for money? Did the tithe payers etc complain to you?
Do you pay your tithes? If you were a Christian you won't be driving a 1978 PINTO in 2007, that's a shame!!!!

Jesus Christ was hungry, He had to create a coin in the mouth of a fish to pay His taxes, He depended on the loaves and 2 fishes of a young boy to feed the multitude, He had to borrow a grave . . . is that a shame?

When the early disciples were first named "christians" it was not because of how expensive their chariots were.

gospelman:

For those who have spoken negatively about this laudable feat, please, send your man of God a good gift, preferably a check, and see what happens: I guarantee you, prosperity would rest in your home. For it is your man of God that causes prosperity to rest in your home, go read your bible.

No sir, i will read the bible to you: Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

Deuteronomy 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

Continue to propagate the false gospel of "prosperity" . . . it is nothing but a cover for greed and covetousness.

There is none. But i challenge you to show me JUST ONE verse in the bible where God placed an emphasis on the building for worship. Go ahead tell us.

When Christ sent out the apostles how many churches did they build and how much did Judas collect as building offering?
After the day of pentecost, pls show us where the apostles forced the brethren to sell their land and bring the money to the church so they could build Bethlehem's largest auditorium . . . afterall thousands were saved that day and they would have needed "space" to preach the gospel aye. . .

Alhaji, when next you quote remember to put your own responses OUTSIDE the quote tags.

Olabowale's response: Only if it happens it could have been understood. The Jews meant a death on the Cross to be accusation of the soul. It would have been a thing shameful for a Prophet/Messenger of God to suffer such a terrible and humiliating end.

Olabowale, you cant sit there telling us about what you dont know. You constantly leave urself open to ridicule anytime you try so hard to force christianity into the mould of islam. Perhaps it is a thing of shame for your non-existent "prophets" or those u borrowed from the bible to sufer such humiliating death but the bible tells me - Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

The denial of it by Islam is the truth of the matter.

Simply because Mohammed said so? Christ's death and resurrection had thousands of witnesses who also penned it down for our edification . . . where are the witnesses to islam's denial?

I bet you never heard of the RSV printed in 1952, which completely omitted many verses, including John 3:16.

Either you did not understand my statements or u are dishonestly trying not to. Here is what i initially said . . . There have been several copies of the books of the bible found at various places and at different time periods . . . NOT ONE of those books has been found to be even subtly different from the bible we carry around.

You instantly struggle to bring up the RSV published in 1952. The RSV is simply an individual version of the original scrolls on which the bible was written in earlier times. The dead sea scrolls contain the original books of the bible written thousands of yrs ago and not just in 1952. They contain John 3:16. . . anybody can wake up tomorrow and publish "David's Revised Bible" and choose to remove the entire book of Genesis. It does not make the original scrolls corrupt!

I am not sure if I do not know who this PTH guy is. But I need to let you know that your Bible is corrupt, the OT is corrupt, the Psalm is corrupt and the NT is corrupt!

Yep we've heard that a million times. . . what's new? Where is the injil and torah all sent down and confirmed? Bring it first before you start crying about a corrupt bible. Where you not the same person reading mohammad into Isaiah 53?

It is a hatman decree, that those who reject Muhammad will perish in Hellfire. Allah Himself guarantees it.

It is also a hatman decree, all muslims will go down into hell. Allah himself has guaranteed it in Sura 19:71.

The rest of your drivel is regurgitated old news.

[b]I wonder how people expect Nigeria to get better when they don't realise that policies like this will make it better.[/b]Abroad universities have better research facilities because they're lecturers are researchers, researches come up with theory and they support it, their theory can be supported, hence more funding.
It's not only about the classroom. Point blank research pulls funding for schools. The more the funding, the better the infrastructure of the institutions.

Thank you for the words in blue. The policy sounds stupid now and unattainable but it is this kind of strict adherence to such a policy that makes foreign universities as good as they are today.

Another thing to note is the emergency of medical doctors as researchers today. Medicine is no longer about administering drugs and diagnosing ailments, foriegn doctors now run their own research labs.
