RomanceRe: The Untold Story Of 'runs Girls' In Ikeja Computer Village by publicenemy(m): 2:38pm On Jan 08, 2016
GurlFriend:
The Ikeja Computer Village in Lagos is West Africa’s largest market place for information technology products and has found its way into the world’s technology map. People from different parts of the country and indeed different parts of West Africa do business there daily.
However, according to informed sources, there is also something else, secretly going on at Ikeja Computer Village. It is something which a lot of girls now call “runs” . The Ikeja Computer Village officially closes at 6 pm every day. The strict closing time was imposed by the authorities there after some armed robbery incidents several years ago. At around that closing time, if you happen to be around the place, your are sure to see girls of different colour ,sizes and shapes streaming out of the Village.
Naturally, a lot of girls are expected to be in the Village. After all, most of the dealers can only function with sales people and all over the world; girls are more inclined to be sales people especially for small business. However, things are more complicated than that. In the Computer Village, there are sales girls and there are sales girls but what a lot of them sell is more than meet the eyes.
For starters, what an average Computer Village sales girl earns is so negligible that it can barely be sustainable as a transport fare for 2 weeks. Yet, a lot of them do not even stay around Ikeja. They come from places as far as Ikorudu, Okota and Satellite Town. They are always punctual and work diligently for their bosses.
These girls keep body and soul together from the proceeds from the “runs” they do in the village. Most of them take the job with the understanding between them and their bosses that they are going to meet a lot of wealthy men who come to do business in the market and when they play their cards well, they make a lot of money. Hence, despite their meagre salaries, at the end of the month, the girls make a lot of money.
How can such unconfirmed write up Without proof like this make front page. This is tarnishing the image of the girls in computer village.

I am embarrassed at the Moderators on this forum.

How much longer can the Zoo last with all this very upset, heart broken and angry people left, right and center?
Talk about contempt.
u collect excessive tax from them to fund your State.
you send Babaloja and mamaloja to extort money from them.
You start building extravagant markets that nobody send you to further extort money from them.
U demolish their 40 years business without notice and order them to pay millions for your shops.
Let us talk about contempt. Are they slaves? Even so have slavery not been abolished?

Yes Nigeria is a Zoo. Which means you, your papa and your mama and all your family members living in Nigeria are all animals, goats to be precise.

You will cry for the rest of your short and miserable life but Nigeria will always be one. There will never be a briafra.

RomanceRe: He Is A Christian, I Like Him But I'm Not Christian. Advice Needed by publicenemy(m): 1:56am On Jan 08, 2016
Loots:
There is a guy who i have been with for a long period of time and we have been dating for about 2 years, and i consider him my prince charming. We have been friends since childhood and we have always liked each other. He is a very good person and the kind i desire for a husband but however, he is a Christian and I am not Christian. My parents wont have me marry a Christian.

When we started, I told him about our religious differences, he said he didn't care and neither do I but my parents do. His parents on the other hand, are okay with it but mine, No! And ever since I've been with him, I shut the door against other men and never gave any other man the chance or attention.

I don't know what to do about this as my friends are saying I should ignore my parents and just go ahead with marriage in a simple way and I have been considering it because he has everything i want in a man and also, he has been around since we were in our cradle so i know him in and out. He is already excited and making arrangements as he proposed to me, and I said yes only for my mother to say "No, I won't endorse it". It would break him if i suddenly turn everything the other way around and say "I changed my mind" so i don't know how to go about this. He also has a heart condition so breaking such news might hurt him and I am hoping there is a way to workaround this.

please mature advice.
Thanks

Everything they say about Nigerians on the international Media can only be experienced in Lagos.

Lagosians no get conscience o! They would rather let an accident victim die than for them to arrive late at work, but ofcourse they will stop to snap picture of the dying person.

If they see a baby crawling close to a river, they will push the baby inside.

They don't care unless it affects them personally.

Weeks ago I applied for the tenth edition of Ladipo Adamolekun Award Of Excellence, a unique academic motivator aimed at encouraging students in my localty. The cash price of which, is thirty thousand naira each for beneficiaries; of which i happened to be one.

Now, before the panel, my submission when asked what i will use the money for should i win was, it will be used to obtain a laptop having offered admission to study Biochemistry in OAU. Having one i reasoned will not only be of great value to my education; in times of research but as well aid writing since i am, presently, working on a book.

Obtaining a new Laptop with this amount i understand is a mirage but a business done with it can make it a possibility since the certainty of resuming as speculated before by the school management for now remains an hypothesis of no substantial proof due to their so called "MSB."

So nairalanders, with mini importation business struck out by the new CBN policy, is there any productive business that within a time space of five months( since we won't be resuming any earlier than May) yield a minimum of 30% increase?

Suggestions will be appreciated.

Get a Laptop or save the money and be observant until you find something productive.

You better ignore these clowns giving you funny business ideas. Someone will soon tell you to open a suya business and package it very well better than normal Abokii would.

I am sure D'Banj got his idea of koko Garri from Nairaland.
