One of the most dangerous aspect of high blood pressure (medically called HYPERTENSION) is that you may not know that you have it. The only way to know, if your blood pressure is high is through regular check-ups. A blood pressure appears as two numbers. The first and higher of the two is a measure of systolic pressure (or the pressure of arteries when the heart beats and fills them with blood). The second number measures diastolic pressure (or the pressure in the arteries when the heart filling and resting between heart beats).
