N150k? No way! People erroneously think
they need to spend, borrow or raise a lot
of money to start running their own
business. False! There are several
underserved needs around you that can
be tapped into without much capital on
your end but skill, planning, and access to
the right source for materials. The
economy may be facing dark days but
there is no reason you can’t thrive.
So whether you want to run a side hustle
or immerse yourself fully in becoming
your own entrepreneur, here are 7
businesses you can start for N150k and
enjoy profitability almost immediately.
1. Cake / Pancake / Cupcake baking and
decorating: Baking can earn you a lot of
money and if you already know how to
bake, it is a great business to start. What
you need to give you differentiation is
proper flour mixes, creative decorations,
cake molds and toppers. “I buy gold dust
supplies and themed cupcake holders that
I use for birthdays, bridal showers and
you those events people like to be
creative. Things I can buy for under
N1000 for a dozen on Ebay via the
MallforAfrica App, goes for N3000 in the
local market, that’s if I find it” Hassan,
Frosts and Froths.
2. Custom Wig Making and Hair Retailing:
This is a very rewarding business with a
recurring customer base. Starting with
N100k, you can earn returns of up to 4x
your initial investment. The main
requirement for success is being able to
source unique and high quality supplies
for wig making at low cost. If reselling is
what you are after, you can get ready
made wigs, natural hair products and
other hair pieces. One of our long
standing customers Mide of Mide’s Hair Ng
gets her supplies from the US via us. She
makes custom wigs and weaves as well as
serves the natural hair market with highly
sought after products like Shea Moisture,
Cantu etc. on Ebony Line Hair Store, and
Ebay, which she buys for a 3rd of the price
and sells for lower than big super markets
and local online retailers.
3. Party Planning and Decorating: “My
business picked up when I discovered
Party City on the MallforAfrica App. I went
from having the same old things that
every other party planner and caterer gets
from Okearin, to becoming the person to
meet in my area, if you wanted a
distinctive party theme. I used to admire
big planners thinking these things were
expensive, until I was introduced to the
store and wow! With N65k I decorated
two bridal showers and made a lot more
than I imagined! I’m now my own boss,
quit my 9-5 for this. My best find was
customizable mason jars at N200 each,
which were the rave of the moment”
Uche, Partipaks Showers. Who doesn’t love
a good party? Especially Nigerians! Party
planning can be overwhelming and this
need is business for you to exploit. This is
one venture that pays for itself without
upfront capital from you, get the customer
and pass the cost to them only your
creativity is needed. However, you can buy
sample products to showcase your
capability and attract clients. Instagram is
a good place to showcase your business,
remember the most inimitable it is, the
better an audience you will get.
4. Make Up Artists/ Cosmetics Reselling:
Cosmetics is a virtually recession-proof
business because it’s an inexpensive way
for people to feel good about themselves.
You can take your love and knowledge of
cosmetics from enthusiast to
entrepreneur in many ways. For one in
addition to being a makeup artist you can
become a blogger and influencer for
brands, as well as reselling make up.
MallforAfrica gives you access to top
brands/stores including Fashion Fair, Ulta
Beauty, Sephora, NYX, Becca, Smashbox,
Anastasia Beverly Hills etc.
5. Corporate Branding / Gift Hampers:
This is a great business that can be your
side hustle, the best part is you don’t
necessarily need to keep inventory but
buy when your customer needs. The
MallforAfrica advantage is giving you
direct access to top wholesale retailers of
promotional items for brands and even
unique wedding favours /souvenirs. You
can get cups, tshirts, key rings, tumblers
for as low as N20 depending on product

value handmade items like these especially
as they are customizable and make great
gift items. Soap making items like essential
oils, soap molds in various distinctive
designs, perfumes, and packages are
available for cheap on MallforAfrica stores
such eBay, Overstock and Amazon. You

Militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers,
NDA, has threatened to renew hostilities in
the oil rich region, saying it will hit
President Muhammadu Buhari very hard
in 2017.
The group said the threat was necessary
following government’s inaction towards
the peace talk agreed with the region last
year.
NDA had last year agreed to cease hostility
following Federal Government’s decision
to enter into negotiations with leaders of
the region.
However, there has been no concrete
negotiation between the government and
leaders of the region.
NDA in a statement by its spokesperson,
Mudoch Agbiniho, accused the Federal
Government of rejecting genuine dialogue
and negotiations.
In the statement, the secessionist
warned that it will resume hostilities since
government has decided to politicise the
negotiation process.
The statement quoted the group as
saying, the year 2017 will be filled with
surprises ” a reconfiguration of the
struggle for the liberation of our
motherland.”
The statement reads in part: “As we get
prepared for the challenges ahead 2017,
We make bold to tell the people of our
Niger Delta, sane minds in Nigeria and the
comity of nations that the remaining 11
months and couple of weeks in 2017 will
be filled with surprises and a
reconfiguration of the struggle for the
liberation of our motherland. |

Tupac was killed by Suge Knight's ex-
wife, so claims the embattled rapper
- Suge Knight claims his ex and former
Death Row Records security chief Reggie
White Jr 'killed Tupac Shakur
- He insists that it was his own life that the
duo were after
Embattled rapper Marion 'Suge' Knight has
finally revealed that the slain rap legend
Tupac Shakur was murdered by his ex-wife
and former Death Row Records security
chief Reggie White Jr.
For too long, Suge Knight kept it a secret
that his ex-wife launched the attack that
saw to the death of the rap legend - Tupac
Shakur
Knight insists that he was the real target of
the 1996 drive-by.
According to Daily Mail, Suge's attorney
Thaddeus Culpepper wrote in a signed
affidavit, that 'Knight has known for many
years that Reggie Wright Jr. and his ex-wife
Sharitha were behind the murder of Tupac
and attempted murder of Knight.'
It was just unfortunate that Tupac got in
the way of an attack that was none of his
business
He added that Knight also had alleged
details of Wright's involvement in the Bigge
Smalls murder case.
The rapper, who until now has always
refused to identify the shooter, appears to
have spoken out after hearing the 'salient
points' in the new documentary Tupac
Assassination: "Battle for Compton".
Many have argued over the years that Tupac
died in the drive-by, they believe that like
Machiavelli, he will return
NAIJ.com gathered that Suge was so
intrigued he sent his private investigators,
to discover how the writers and directors
found out about what happened.
Tupac and Suge Knight, pictured together in
the 1990s, were friends before Tupac was
gunned down in 1996
The documentary also claims that Suge had
always been the real target of that fatal
shooting. Tupac was just in the way. |

Ahead of the 2017 Unified Tertiary
Matriculation Examination, the Joint
Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
says that direct entry candidates will be
required to sit for a school-based aptitude
test and not UTME.
Head of Information at JAMB, Fabian
Benjamin, on Monday, April 3, said: “Direct
Entry candidates will attempt an aptitude
test which is school-based. They are not
sitting for the UTME. The test is from the
universities.
''The new book we introduced will be used
by Direct Entry candidates for the aptitude
tests that will be conducted by the
universities. Students with matriculation
numbers of universities are not eligible to
sit for the UTME. If they are not satisfied
with their chosen disciplines, they can ask
for transfer.’’
Naij.com recalls that JAMB stated it was not
going to extend the registration period,
saying that before deadline every candidate
will register. The spokesman observed that some applicants were seeking extension of the UTME registration deadline due to irregularities in the ongoing registration process. According to him, it is wrong for any person to also think that there is inadequacy in the number of centres stipulated to register candidates for the UTME |

Why is it for only people with low qualification...can someone explain please? |
The wife of former President Olusegun
Obasanjo, Mrs Taiwo Obasanjo, on
Monday, filed a suit at an Ikeja High
Court, seeking to stop the wedding of
her son, Olujonwo Obasanjo,
scheduled for May 11.
Ex-President Obasanjo and the father
of the bride, Sir Kessington Adebutu,
promoter of Premier Lotto known as
“Baba Ijebu” are respondents to the
suit.
Mrs Obasanjo, who is the twin sister of
Chief Kenny Martins, the former
Coordinator of the Police Equipment
Fund, is seeking a postponement of
the wedding of her son, Olujonwo to
Tope Adebutu scheduled for May 11
and May 12.
She wants the wedding to be fixed for
a date after June 1.
Olujonwo and Tope had an elaborate
introduction on Dec. 17, 2016, with the
social media awash with photographs
of the event.
Obasanjo, among others, is seeking a
court declaration that as the mother of
the groom, she had the rights to take
part in the deliberations, decisions and
activities leading to the forthcoming
ceremony.
According to her, wedding invitations
have been sent out and she has been
excluded from the preparations for the
ceremonies.
She said she also received prophesies
and warnings from men of God to the
effect that Olujonwo, her son who
turns 34 on June 1, should not do or
be involved in any elaborate
celebration before his birthday.
The woman wants the court to compel
Adebutu and Obasanjo to shift the
wedding to a date after June 1 after
she had appealed to Adebutu and Mrs
Rosemary Dacosta, the mother of the
bride, Tope Adebutu, the bride-to-be
as well as Chief Kenny Martins.
Justice Lateefa Okunnu has fixed April
10 for hearing of the suit no.
