That's why classifying people by the color of their skin doesn't make sense. Race is largely a social construct .

The picture below is how Europeans looked 8000 years ago

You must have lost your mind to say something like that. You post a photo of an Caucasian and an Australian native, and claim that the native is what Caucasians looked 8000 years ago? Come on man, Caucasians is the product of Africans cross breeding with Neanderthals. Get informed before you start pushing your opinion.

It bothers me that over 50% of the people on my Facebook friends list and here on nairaland use am instead of I'm. What is more ridiculous is that if you try to correct them, they'll tell you that English isn't their mother tongue. What's even more ridiculous is that most of these people speak more English than any other language. Then why not speak or write it well? Ruwanda changed it's national language from French to English within the last decade if I'm not mistaken, and they speak better English on an average than most Nigerians who may have been speaking it for decades and some for scores.

That story doesn't add up. If what you're saying is true, then tell me this. How comes the screenshots are from swazzi's phone? You guys are suddenly home boys?

If the story is true, then the op could have only gotten the screenshots from his girls phone. In that case, her own messages will be green, and not the other way around.

He is being ruthlessly truthful, but the question is this. Will he forget about this babbling when he wins/if he wins? Currently Buhari's government doesn't even provide the primary needs a government is supposed to provide it's citizens.
Security has deteriorated in his administration (Things are so bad now that some of the killings in the middle belt are not being reported).

Power is being abused rigorously in his administration. Economy is doing worse than it should be, and the pay doesn't reflect the realities on ground; more recently he is making withdrawals from the ECA without telling anyone (what's the difference between our president and a dictator?)

Yes I agree that Buhari has failed in an epic way and he needs to go, but at this point in my stay in Nigeria and after becoming acclimatized to the Nigerian politics, I have to say that I have become pretty pessimistic about what to expect from politicians. So I just got to ask, are the people campaigning for this man really sure that he is the candidate?

I have lost faith in Nigeria months ago. I doubt if this dysfunctional country can function up to par with other countries, and yes it isn't my fault. I wasn't left with a lot of options.

Business / Re: The Top Ten Richest Countries In The World By GDP. by Pussyisfood: 9:10am On Mar 10, 2018
drakeli:
Non of these countries is as rich as the UK , USA and China in terms of their economic turnover and national reserves. They are simply the countries with the highest GDP per capita. These simply translates that they have very small population compared to their resources. Which means in a lay man language, their population is so small enough for every citizen to have a big share of the country’s wealth more than citizens of other countries . This does not make the total of their wealth up to that of these other countries mentioned above.

You're right. The purpose of posting this article on nairaland however is so that people here will realize subliminally that the problem of Nigeria is not just bad leaders. Over population is by itself another problem. Take a look at it like this. The country can improve the economy considerably but if the population keeps increasing exponentially, it will be really difficult to get the GDP to something impressive.

All those countries are lowly populated, that's what makes their money enough when distributed with the population. Nigeria is richer, bjh with high population. I'm saying this in respect of those 10 countries ni o, not comparing with highly populated and yet developed countries like China and US

You are right. What most of those countries have in common is that they are small countries with a small population. This makes distribution of wealth more evenly.

2. Emperor Shenzong of Song – peak net worth: $30+ trillion
Shenzong ruled China from 1067-1085 during the 'Peaceful Prosperity' and 'Primary Abundance' eras when he controlled around 30% of global GDP, the equivalent of $30+ trillion today. Adept at collecting taxes, the emperor's administration wasn't all take, take, take however. Its famous New Policies, which helped improve the lives of the poor, are seen as a forerunner of the modern welfare state.

1. Genghis Khan – peak net worth: $100s trillions

The fearsome Mongol leader conquered a mind-blowing 12 million square miles of land between 1206 and his death in 1227, more than anyone else in history. But while his hordes pillaged their way through huge swathes of Eurasia (the combined continental landmass of Europe and Asia) – territory that is now worth trillions of dollars – Khan didn't actually hoard his spoils, choosing to redistribute the stolen loot and territory among his subjects instead.

5. King Solomon of Israel – peak net worth: $2.2 trillion

3. Akbar I – peak net worth: $21 trillion

Renowned for his lavish lifestyle and patronage of the arts, this emperor conquered hundreds of thousands of square miles of territory and ruled over much of the Indian subcontinent, known as the Mughal Empire from 1556 until 1605.
