I think we are somehow geting the concept vague
Sex for marks in just a miniature of the ills of our society.
An average lady sees what she has as selling points capable of taking her to the top of her career

After graduation, no sex no NYSC or good place of primary assignment

I have been privileged to Assist a Lecturer. You need to see what a girl can do just to pass or have good grades even when you run, they will pursue you and you know say body has limit for some people.
