He is busy citing Mandela. What made Mandela take that decision? Mandela fought as a young lawyer all his life for his people, and then the people crowned him and said, ‘Come and lead the country that you created,’” Mbia said. Meanwhile in his younger days, the fraud was busy serving under Abacha's oppressive and anti democratic regime yet he was comparing to Mandela who spent 27years in prison fighting for his people. For health reasons, Mandela had to decline a second tenure. “An Obi who has been governor and tells us that we should move from consumption to production has shown no production in his entire business career. He buys and sells. Where’s the production? Where’s his factory?” he queried. As we speak, he's still importing ketchup, pasta, Alcohol and many others. |

Politics › Tinubu Govt Reviving 90 Per Cent Of Abandoned Southeast Projects - Umahi by Putindbutt(op): 9:02am On Aug 06, 2025 |
Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, said that the present administration led by President Bola Tinubu has treated the people of the South-East zone fairly in terms of roads, bridges, and infrastructural development.
The Minister was reacting to a misleading statement on social media published by one Mr. Linus Anagboso (D-Big Pen) with the caption: “The Politics of Asphalt: Why is the South East missing from the map?”
Umahi stated that the chosen path by some persons is to deceive unsuspecting members of the public, look good before the people as one fighting for them, and close both eyes pretentiously over the great and selfless infrastructure development Tinubu is doing all over the nation.
According to him, he has directed all the regional directors of the Federal Ministry of Works back to sites in all the regions across the country to compile all inherited but ongoing projects, and all new projects in all the regions, so that Nigerians will appreciate the huge works that the present administration is doing in all the regions, irrespective of those who voted for him and those who did not.
In a statement he personally signed and issued on Monday, the Minister noted that the President is using fair distribution of infrastructure to reunite Nigerians and renew their hope, and only those who open their eyes will see the light of change in Nigeria.
Part of the statement read:
“In addressing specifically this misleading information and for the records, Mr. President has four (4) Legacy Projects, and they cover the six geo-political zones with the South East region well captured within the third Legacy Project of Cross River–Ebonyi–Benue–Kogi–Nasarawa–Abuja, totaling 465km x 2, with South East covering 231.64km x 2 and 231.64km x 1 for ₦445.8 billion already awarded and work is going on.
“Mr. President has already paid ₦108 billion. What happened in the Federal Executive Council (FEC) of 31/7/2025 was a review of that corridor from 118km x 1 to 231.64km x 1 for ₦445.8 billion.
“This misleading writer chose to change the narrative of my press briefing after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) of Tran Sahara Section 1 (Ebonyi State to Benue border – 123.64km at ₦445.8 billion) but deliberately chose to call it Oyo–Benue Border road to deceive and incite unsuspecting members of the public.
“Where was the writer when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu decided to treat South East fairly in road infrastructure like other regions? Under his administration, 90% of abandoned projects, some awarded as far back as 2013, were all revived, and all are now ongoing.
“It is noteworthy to mention that there is huge ongoing work on the 2nd Niger Bridge access road 2A in Delta State, which is valued at ₦146 billion, and 2B in Anambra State, which is valued at ₦176 billion; the Enugu–Onitsha road – 208km (MTN Tax Credit, which is valued at ₦202 billion, and CBC completing the remaining section at ₦150 billion, of which ₦45 billion was released last week); the Enugu–Port Harcourt road in four sections; the Enugu–Abakaliki; the Afikpo (Ebonyi)–Abia–Imo road; the Onitsha–Owerri–Aba road; the Aba–Ikot Ekpene road; the Umuahia–Ikot Ekpene road, etc.
“I request the South East people to rise in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, because he has demonstrated unwavering love and fairness to the people of the South East. We must not be deceived again. Mr. President must have the votes of South East up to 90% to cement this relationship.
“Enough of darkening counsel without knowledge in the South East. We must rise to educate our people. If we want to be president, we must avoid the politics of hate, misinformation, and sentiments. We must support other regions, and with God, one day, other regions will support us.
“President must be supported to complete his tenure of 8 years, which all regions are benefitting from. One day, we will be number one, but not in 2027. I will vocally continue to stand against any mischief to deceive our people. We are known for hard work and love, not hate.
“I commend our leaders who are the South East Governors for their support and the great works they are doing for our people. I want our people to please support them along with our dear President for their second tenure in their respective offices.” https://dailypost.ng/2025/08/04/tinubu-govt-reviving-90-per-cent-of-abandoned-southeast-projects-umahi/

Tinubu already promised to revive the textile industry and textile Mills in the north. Everything Tinubu is doing are captured in his manifestos during campaign. The AKK pipeline is the major factor that will kickstart the textile mills in the North and already 70% complete. As at February, Govt reiterated its commitments to reviving the textile industry.

Sports › Rena Wakama hails President Tinubu’s “life-changing” Support by Putindbutt(op): 8:45pm On Aug 05, 2025 |
D’Tigress Head Coach, Rena Wakama, has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s support for the Nigerian women’s national basketball team, the D’Tigress, describing his response to the team’s victory as “life changing.”
Speaking to State House correspondents on the reward President Tinubu honoured D’Tigress on the team’s historic fifth consecutive AfroBasket championship victory, Wakama expressed gratitude for the warm reception the team received at the Presidential Villa on Monday.
Wakama, the first woman to win back-to-back AfroBasket titles as coach, expressed sincere appreciation to the President and loyal Nigerian fans.
“We’re so thankful, so, so thankful for Your Excellency President Tinubu.
“This is life-changing for some of these girls, life-changing for us. This is what we need — renewed hope.
“We’re grateful for this and we look forward to even more support in the future,” Wakama said.
She attributed their seamless and triumphant victory in Côte d’Ivoire to the team’s strong unity and unwavering passion.
“It was easy representing Nigeria — a country and sport that we love deeply.
“When you love your country, your teammates, and the game, everything falls into place.
“It breaks my heart, but I know change has started with me.
“To be a woman and get an opportunity to coach at this level is a good sign for others.
“I’m thankful to the NBBF president for trusting me to lead this team and do my job.
“I hope I’m not the last, and I hope I’ve inspired other women to take bold steps into coaching,” she said.
Wakama, who is also an assistant coach at WNBA side Chicago Sky, earlier expressed hopes that her achievements would inspire more women to lead national teams.
Wakama and the technical crew each received $50,000 in recognition of their vital contribution to the team’s continental triumph.
President Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, awarded each player $100,000, a flat, and a national honour — Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
The 33-year-old coach urged Nigerians to keep supporting the team ahead of the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin, Germany. https://von.gov.ng/dtigress-coach-hails-president-tinubus-life-changing-support/

Politics › Troops Neutralize Bandit, Destroy Camps In Benue by Putindbutt(op): 3:10pm On Aug 05, 2025 |
As part of ongoing efforts to restore peace and enhance security in Benue State, troops of the 401 Special Forces Brigade/ Sector 1 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in collaboration with local hunters, conducted a successful clearance operation around the Tatough general area of Makurdi Local Government Area.
Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, 401 Special Forces Brigade/ Sector 1 OPWS, Captain Abdullahi Lawal Osabo, who disclosed this in a statement at the weekend said the operation, which included a fighting patrol and the escort of bereaved family members to Tse-Ayele village for the burial of a deceased relative, saw troops clear several identified hotspots and key locations, including Mdoor, Anter, Tse-Gegu, Tse-Akaajime, Tse-Agam, and Ndor villages.
“While advancing through Tse-Akaajime village, troops encountered armed bandits. A brief but intense firefight ensued, resulting in the neutralization of one bandit, while others fled in disarray, abandoning their positions. Items recovered from the scene included two Tecno mobile phones and three motorcycles, suspected to have been used in coordinating criminal activities,” the statement read.
"In the aftermath of the encounter, troops destroyed and set ablaze all identified bandit camps in the area, effectively denying the criminals the ability to regroup or reestablish their presence.
"In a related development, troops deployed at Tatough have continued to conduct aggressive foot and perimeter patrols, maintaining a strong security posture and reassuring residents of their safety.
“Commending the troops for their gallantry, professionalism, and dedication to duty, the Acting Commander 401 Special Forces Brigade and Sector 1 OPWS, Colonel KO Bukoye, urged them to remain vigilant and sustain the operational momentum in the collective effort to rid Benue State of criminal elements.” https://dailypost.ng/2025/08/03/troops-neutralize-bandit-destroy-camps-in-benue/

I already knew you guys won't bother to read the article, you're only carried away by the headline and exactly what the media wanted to achieve and sell their papers. Her message was that Nigerians should not be generalized as criminals for the crimes of a few people. Even though she didn't mention the name of any tribe, una conscience already dey shook you. And if you think she hates you, there's nobody that has intervened and fought for your people more than Abike Dabiri. |
Travel › 20 Nigerians On Death Row In Indonesia Are From One South East State – Abike by Putindbutt(op): 10:23pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
Chairperson of the Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has said that it is unfair to generalise and attribute a crime committed by a few Nigerians to the whole of the country.
Abike, who was responding to questions on the ‘Nigeria must go’ protest going on in Ghana, called on the host nation to punish individual offenders and not all Nigerians.
Her statement comes as a viral video on Tuesday showed a large number of Ghanaians protesting with placards suggesting the deportation of Nigerians.
Abike recalled an incident in Indonesia where 21 Nigerians were put on death row and among them, 20 were from one state in the South East.
“If a few Nigerians have committed crimes on foreign soil, they should be punished and publicly held accountable.
However, it is unfair to generalise and attribute that crime to all Nigerians in the region,” she said on Arise News.
“You see, again we are generalizing. Don’t forget that I’ve called people out. We have names.
“I really love calling names, and I’ve said that these so-called Nigerians, let us know them and let them be dealt with. They can’t be anonymous.
“So it’s the responsibility of the host country, which even the Inspector General of Police of Ghana said. Look, I don’t want to say one tribe. Let us know about them. We are not going to go there and beg for them. The Nigeria embassy in Ghana has been doing a lot actually.
“Look, I’ve gone to Ghana. I can’t remember how many times I’ve gone to Ghana. If you remember when we had cases of trafficking, we went to Ghana and brought back these girls.
“And we’ve been doing that on a regular basis, and it has gone down, and the people behind that have been arrested.
Many Nigerians and a few Ghanaians were involved in the trafficking.
“It’s still going on, but not as much as in the past. So we dealt with it headlong. If you say kidnapping, arrest them and jail them. Lock them up.
“When I mention these things, sometimes this tribe you’re kind of talking about, we say, Oh, is it because it’s us?
“No, like I said, crime as a federal character. In Indonesia, we had 21 Nigerians on death row. We went to the Indonesia prison and we spoke to them, and we begged them, and they said, our laws will stand.
“Four were executed, and they are still there and then one was saved through the intervention of Barrister Emmanuel, but they are still there. But you know what?
“When we went into that prison, I’ve said it before, and I said again, 21 of them, 20 were from one state in the southeast 20, the other one was one Edo state.
“But at the same time, that doesn’t mean you should generalize and say everybody in that state is a criminal, and the governor of that state has tackled the issue.
“However, there are some very good stories. And here’s the problem, it’s only the bad stories that trend.
What about those thousands of Nigerians that are developing those countries? What about those thousands of Nigerians that if they leave some countries today, it will affect them, that those are the stories we celebrate.
“However, the media is only interested in bad news that trends and is traffic driven. If that, in Ghana, you had 10,000 people come out and say Nigerians are the best. Nobody would talk about it.
“So I think that’s just the way it is. Bad news travels fast.”
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs,
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has appealed for calm over the matter, noting that there is “no cause for alarm.”
Earlier, the Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Ambassador
Demola, said the protest is not against all Nigerians but against some persons with undesirable activities in Ghana.
“I think the focus is on the tertiary traders and people whom I would describe as probably undesirable to their system, to their economy,” he said in an interview on Arise News.
Recall that in 1983, there was a mass deportation of Ghanaians from Nigeria under former President Shehu Shagari. https://dailypost.ng/2025/08/04/20-nigerians-on-death-row-in-indonesia-are-from-one-south-east-state-dabiri-erewa/?
