PoliticsSouthern Kaduna Hails Tinubu’s Appointment Of Ms Lydia Musa As OGFZA Board Chair by Putindbutt(op): 3:22pm On Jul 22, 2025
The Southern Kaduna Journalists’ Forum (SKJF) has warmly commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Ms. Lydia Kalat Musa as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), calling it a landmark move toward inclusive development.

In a statement released today, SKJF described the appointment as a significant step toward equitable representation, particularly for Southern Kaduna and other historically marginalized regions. The Forum hailed President Tinubu’s decision as a reflection of his commitment to national integration and the Renewed Hope Agenda. Ms. Musa, a native of Kaduna State, is celebrated for her expertise in public administration and policy leadership within the oil and gas sector.

The SKJF praised her as a competent and visionary professional whose sharp intellect and sound judgment position her to drive OGFZA’s mandate of attracting investment, boosting operational efficiency, and accelerating the growth of Nigeria’s oil and gas free zones.

“This appointment is not only well-deserved but also a strategic move to advance the federal government’s developmental goals,” said Ango Bally, SKJF Chairman. “We urge Ms. Musa to serve as a distinguished ambassador of Southern Kaduna, showcasing the region’s talent and leadership potential.”

This appointment is not only well-deserved but also a strategic move to advance the federal government’s developmental goals

The Forum expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for recognizing Southern Kaduna’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s progress. Reaffirming its motto, “Advocacy for Inclusive Development,” SKJF pledged to continue upholding democratic values, holding the government accountable, and supporting initiatives that promote equity, justice, and national progress under the Tinubu-led administration.

BusinessRe: First HoldCo Plc Condemns Misrepresentation Of Facts By Thisday And Arise TV by Putindbutt(op): 5:51pm On Jul 21, 2025
Why always Thisday/Arisetv?, they have fast turned into a news blogger. The same Thisday/Arisetv spreading fake news on the appointment of IBB's son.

Obaigbena pay your debts to First bank and stop using your paid media to promote fake news.
BusinessFirst HoldCo Plc Condemns Misrepresentation Of Facts By Thisday And Arise TV by Putindbutt(op): 5:48pm On Jul 21, 2025
First HoldCo Plc has issued a strongly worded statement condemning ThisDay Newspaper and Arise TV for what it described as a deliberate misrepresentation of facts surrounding a recent off-market block trade involving 10.4 billion shares of the company on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

In a statement released by its management, the financial holding company expressed “embarrassment and disappointment” at what it called the “wilful and sensational distortion of facts” in reports by both media platforms following 16 July 2025 transaction.

According to First HoldCo, contrary to claims made in the reports, neither billionaire investor Femi Otedola nor the Federal Government of Nigeria or any of its agencies—including the office of the Attorney General—participated in the share acquisition.

“The trading of the shares was conducted under a highly transparent and regulator-supervised process with the consent of all the parties involved,” the company said. “This was done in order to ensure continuous stability of this important national franchise.”

The company further clarified that the shares were sold to an independent bridge holder and that the transaction conferred no benefit on First HoldCo itself.

In a sharp rebuke, the company urged the owner of both media organisations to “focus on paying back the indebtedness of his company — General Hydrocarbons Ltd — to FirstBank rather than negatively channeling his energies towards vilifying the First HoldCo Group.”

First HoldCo called on ThisDay and Arise TV to uphold the principles of journalism by verifying facts before publication and to practice fairness and objectivity in their reporting.

The company stressed its commitment to transparency and stakeholder trust, even as it warned against further actions it sees as damaging to its reputation and the stability of the broader financial system.

BELOW IS THE FULL STATEMENT BY FIRST HOLDCO PLC

MISREPRESENTATION OF FACTS BY THISDAY & ARISE TV

The attention of the Board and Management of First HoldCo Plc has been drawn to the deliberate misrepresentation of facts and gross unprofessional conduct demonstrated by ThisDay Newspaper of July 17, 2025, and Arise TV on the recent off-market block trading of First HoldCo Plc shares on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

First HoldCo Plc expresses its embarrassment and disappointment at the wilful and sensational distortion of facts by both ThisDay Newspaper and Arise TV following the movement witnessed in the market on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 when a total of 10.4 billion units of shares in off-market block trading took place on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

This action was done with deliberate malicious intent to cast First HoldCo Plc in a bad light and also continue to create confusion and panic amongst our esteemed stakeholders.

We also wish to categorically state that Mr. Femi Otedola, CON, did not buy or take over the traded 10.4 billion units of shares, neither did the Federal Government of Nigeria, its agencies, and the Hon. Attorney of the Federation participate in the acquisition of the shares in question.

The trading of the shares was conducted under a highly transparent and regulator-supervised process with the consent of all the parties involved. This was done in order to ensure continuous stability of this important national franchise.

The shares were sold to an independent Bridge Holder with no benefit accruing to the company.
*We urge the proprietor of both Thisday and Arise TV media platforms to focus on paying back the indebtedness of his company – General Hydrocarbons Ltd to FirstBank rather than negatively channeling his energies towards vilifying the FirstHoldCo Group.*

Again, we advise ThisDay Newspaper and Arise TV to always demonstrate fairness, objectivity, and verification of facts before releasing news to the public. This, they owe the general public. It is indeed core and at the heart of the tenets of journalism.

PoliticsRe: Segun Dada Slams Kemi Badenoch Over Nigerian Citizenship Claim by Putindbutt(op): 2:41pm On Jul 21, 2025
She's ignorant, she doesn't even understand the constitution of the country she claims she comes from. When the time comes, she would be tossed out from the window and reminded she's black. Advocating a stricter immigration policy won't change their perception about you.
PoliticsSegun Dada Slams Kemi Badenoch Over Nigerian Citizenship Claim by Putindbutt(op): 2:39pm On Jul 21, 2025
Presidential aide, Dada Olusegun, has criticised the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, over her recent comments on Nigerian citizenship.

Badenoch, during an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria on Sunday, claimed that she cannot pass on her Nigerian citizenship to her children because of her gender.

She argued that it is easier for Nigerians to acquire British citizenship than for foreigners to become Nigerians.

She said, “It’s virtually impossible, for example, to get Nigerian citizenship. I have that citizenship by virtue of my parents. I can’t give it to my children because I’m a woman.

“Yet loads of Nigerians come to the UK and stay for a relatively free period of time, acquire British citizenship. We need to stop being naive.”

Reacting to the claim in a post via his X handle on Monday, Olusegun accused Badenoch of deliberately misrepresenting Nigeria’s laws.

The presidential aide also accused the UK politician of a continuous attempt to malign Nigeria.

He wrote, “Aunty @KemiBadenoch, why do you continue to lie against your motherland? Why this continuous, dangerous, and desperate attempt to malign Nigeria?

“Chapter 3, Section 25(1)(c) of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution states that if the Nigerian woman is a citizen by birth, her children, whether born in Nigeria or abroad, are Nigerian citizens by descent, automatically under Section 25 of the Constitution.

“This holds regardless of the father’s nationality. You do not need to apply for registration or naturalisation for her child to be a citizen.”

Born in the UK to Nigerian parents, Olukemi Adegoke (now Kemi Badenoch) grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, before returning to the UK at the age of 16. She is married to Scottish banker Hamish Badenoch, and they have three children.

According to Section 25(1)(c) of the 1999 Constitution, a person born outside Nigeria is a citizen of Nigeria if either of their parents is a Nigerian citizen.

This means having just one Nigerian parent is sufficient for citizenship by birth.

Citizenship by birth in Nigeria means acquiring Nigerian citizenship automatically at birth, based primarily on the citizenship status of one’s parents or grandparents, rather than solely on the place of birth.

This status grants the holder all the rights of citizenship, including the right to enter Nigeria freely and enjoy constitutional protections.
Nigerian law also allows dual citizenship, but with specific conditions.

Section 28(1) states that a person who is a Nigerian citizen by birth may acquire the citizenship of another country without losing their Nigerian citizenship.

However, a person who is not a Nigerian by birth who acquired citizenship by registration or naturalisation will forfeit their Nigerian citizenship if they acquire or retain the citizenship of another country.

In addition, the law does not restrict privileges of citizenship by birth to gender. Gender becomes relevant only in cases involving foreign spouses.
Section 26(2)(a) of the Nigerian Constitution states,

“any woman who is or has been married to a citizen of Nigeria” may become a citizen too.

Foreign men married to Nigerian women are not automatically eligible for citizenship by registration under this law; they may have to qualify by naturalisation, which has stricter requirements.

Thus, it would be difficult for Badenoch’s Scottish husband to be automatically granted citizenship.
However, this does not apply to their children, who have a Nigerian mother and Nigerian grandparents.

Sanusi pulled down their houses within the palace, that's too vindictive of him.
PoliticsKano Emirship Crisis: Why We Can’t Be Loyal To Sanusi – Officials by Putindbutt(op): 12:26pm On Jul 21, 2025
Some evicted Kano emirate officials have explained why they have refused to switch their loyalty to the reinstated emir, Lamido Sanusi.

Usman Dako, the ‘Galadiman Sallama’, is among the officials ordered to move out of their quarters in the palace on Monday, allegedly over their continued loyalty to the deposed emir, Aminu Ado Bayero.

PREMIUM TIMES reported how the directive affected families who have lived in the palace for decades.

In a video circulated on Tuesday, Mr Dako said he was told by an official that Mr Sanusi had ordered the eviction of officials who were still reporting to Mr Ado Bayero at the mini palace in the Nasarawa GRA.

Mr Ado Bayero has occupied the facility since his sacking by the state government last year.

Mr Dako said his house inside the main palace was destroyed by thugs, who also allegedly harassed his wife and children.

“My grandfather died in 1949 and my father died in 1995. My father was born in this palace, I was also born in the palace, so don’t I deserve all the privileges and rights in the palace?

“The people harassing us were not born in the palace. We know where they were and what they were doing before Emir Sanusi brought them close to him”, the official said.

“Several servants had shown disloyalty to past emirs, including late Ado Bayero, but none of them ordered their eviction from the palace. They never bothered about them. The emir would know this history of disloyalty in the palace, it’s not something new.

“The house they destroyed was allocated to my late father by the late Ado Bayero. This inhumane treatment was done by someone who claims to be a cleric. He is using the pulpit to preach but does not do not know what is rightful.

“You cannot do this to even non-Muslims. We are Muslims. Even our grandparents were Muslims when they were captured as slaves to serve in the palace, so we don’t deserve this treatment.

“Nobody can stop me from being loyal to Aminu Ado Bayero. His late father treated us well, wherever he goes, whether as emir or commoner, we will follow him because God had destined us to serve him and love him”, Mr Dako said.

Another victim of the eviction, Danhabu Majidadi, also spoke in a video decrying the eviction.

The emirship crisis erupted in May 2024 after Governor Abba Yusuf dethroned Mr Ado Bayero and four other first-class emirs in the state and reinstated Mr Sanusi as the sole first-class Emir in Kano.

Mr Ado Bayero is challenging his removal from the mini palace where he resides, while Mr Sanusi is at the main Kano palace where the officials were evicted on Monday.

The affected officials are the Galadiman Sallama, Sani Kwano, Dan-Habu Maji-Dadi, Sule Makama, Sarkin-Yakin Dan-Rimi, and Sarkin Lema.

Others are Sarkin Tafarki, Baba Ta’aji, Oji Driver, Odiye Driver, and Bale na Sarkin Bichi.

The emirate crisis has put several officials, including district heads, council members and other senior traditional title holders, in a dilemma over who between the two to pledge their loyalty to.

It has been his attack dog in the name of Lere Olayinka responding to anything thrown at Nyesom Wike directly.

Has he gone silent because of the accusations regarding him allocating vast lands in FCT to his sons which Senator Kingibe said she have documented evidence to?

Is he plotting on how FCT LG election coming soon will be rigged and how the judiciary will be compromised to his favour?

Has he buried his head in shame after falsefully accusing H.E Peter Obi of not conducting LG Election in Anambra State for 8 years?

Hope he is alright health-wise?

His silence for a very long time now speaks so much volume since after Channels TV showed a video of H.E Peter swearing in New LG chairmen in Anambra State, debunking Minister Nyesom Wike's and APC attack dogs long standing accusation.

This begs to ask, where is FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike?

*He was the first serving Governor to be appointed into the Presidential Economic Management Team.

FUNDAMENTAL ACHIEVEMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA STATE (PARTIAL LISTING)

1. Anambra was the first State to commence Sub-Sovereign Wealth savings, the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa. At a time many other Governors were leaving huge debts, I left the equivalent of $500 million Dollars in investment as well as local and foreign currency, including $156 million in Dollar-denominated bonds.

2. For the first time in the history of Anambra State, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of notable countries such as United Stated, Britain, Russia, European Union, South Africa, Belgium, Israel, the Netherlands, Canada, among others, visited the State. Before my tenure, Anambra was practically a pariah state blacklisted by the Diplomatic Corps and international development partners.

3. Development partners such as UNDP, UNICEF, the World Bank, DFID, the European Union etc., which hitherto were not in Anambra State started working with the State. Anambra was consistently adjudged one of the best states in development partnership and commitment to reforms for good governance.

4. He was recognised as Best Governor by the Millennium Development Goals Office (OSSAP-MDGs) and the UNDP in the implementation of their programmes in Nigeria.

5. The Nigerian Debt Management Office (DMO) rated Anambra as the least indebted state in Nigeria. In spite of visible and measurable achievements recorded in various sectors, the State under him did not borrow or raise bonds for her various projects.

6. The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria rated Anambra State as the most financially stable state in the country.

7. The State's ground-breaking return of schools to their original owners - Voluntary Agencies (Churches) on 1st January 2009, and subsequent partnership with the Agencies in Education, saw the State move from 24th position out of 36 States to Number One in National Examination Council (NECO) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations for three consecutive years. This made the World Bank to commission a study, led by the renowned Prof. Paul Collier of Oxford University, on this revolutionary partnership and phenomenal achievement.

8. The State also entered into strategic partnership with the Churches in the Health sector. This symbiotic relationship resulted in a tremendous boost to health care because of the services offered by health institutions owned by Voluntary Agencies, while the State restored grants to the agencies and made available to them more than 50 million Dollars in various types of support.

10. Through partnership with the Church in the Health sector, his Government funded the transformation of -:

a: Iyienu Hospital, Ogidi;
b: Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala;
c: St Charles Borromeo Hospital, Onitsha;
d: Holy Rosary Hospital, Waterside, Onitsha; and
e: St. Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu.
His Government also built the Joseph Nwilo Heart Centre in St. Joseph, Adazi-Nnukwu, where heart operations are now being performed.

11. His Government won the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (1 Million dollars) as the best-performing state in immunisation in the South-East. I always like a good opportunity to counter fallacies:

1. Peter Obi didn't just hand over schools back to the churches, he also provided them with over N6 billion naira in grants to upgrade infrastructure, improve their standards, and retain teachers. This made Anambra state rise to become the top performing state in WAEC and NECO. In fact, no other governor at the time was able to achieve that.

2. Yes there were strikes - happening in almost every state and federal institution at the time. This was a problem nationwide. What did Peter Obi do? He built new infrastructure and campuses for Odumegwu Ojukwu University (formerly Anambra State University), and gave them subventions. Institutions weren't in Comatose like you falsely claimed.

3. Yes he raised tuition to improve quality and sutainability, but gave subsidies for Anambra indigenes. In fact, this tuition model is used worldwide. Schools increase the tuition for everyone else but offer subsidies to state residents.

Peter Obi actually achieved a lot. cheesy
He provided them with 6billion? are you his personal accountant to know this?. Even IF, is 6billion enough in 8years to upgrade over 200public secondary schools in the state which were handed back?. How much did Obi allocate to run his state house budget for 8years, was it a meagre N6billion?.

Again, Obi did not build a single school in 8years, stop the lies.

He Increased tuition fees to improve quality 😂😂😂, what's the quality of Anambra state university and state polytechnics?, where are they ranked? 🤡

The incident of Elrufia happen during election day. What is he doing in Anambra during Anambra election on that faithful day if not to manipulate the process. Pepper body is peppering the illiterate governor because of donations and popularity of the man of the people Obi.

Meanwhile, Elrufia sins has been forgiven. Old things has passed away, now he's a new creature.
Elrufai represented his party on election day. Parties have representatives or delegates that monitor elections in any state where election takes place. They monitor the state's election in their party's situation room and report back to their party. Every party does it anytime there's a Gubernatorial election. But Obi was afraid of Elrufai, that's why he locked him up. Obi is a tyrant.
