Politics › Notorious Bandit Leader Dan Dari Biyar Killed In Sokoto by Putindbutt(op): 2:13pm On Jul 26, 2025 |
Troops of the Nigerian Army under the Operation Fansan Yanma have killed a notorious bandit leader Dan Dari Biyar. Biyar was said to have been neutralised during a clearance operation by the troops in the western axis of Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert said Biyar was killed on Thursday after he tried to collect ransom for some of his kidnapped victims.
The ransom was brought to the forest by relatives of his captives, Makama noted. “Dan Dari Biyar, whose nickname was derived from his infamous catchphrase “I prefer ₦500 to a Hausa man” was known for his brutality against kidnap victims, often mocking them before demanding large sums in ransom.
“He was reportedly based deep within the Tidibale forest, from where he launched coordinated attacks on communities in Lalle, Tsamaye, and parts of Gwaronyo, including the notorious razing of Gidan Sale village along the Gundumi axis,” the security expert stated.
He also noted that military sources said intelligence reports linked Biyar to several attacks including arson, ambushes among others in Sokoto East senatorial zone.
He added that the operation which led to Biyar’s killing was carried out by a joint team of the Nigerian Army and local security volunteers under the Sokoto State Government’s community protection initiative. Weapons of various calibre were also recovered from the operation by the troops while some members of Biyar’s gang fled the location. https://dailypost.ng/2025/07/26/troops-kill-notorious-bandit-leader-dan-dari-biyar-in-sokoto/

Penguin2: Lunatics have taken over the asylum. So, I’m not surprised.
This is why we need Peter Obi to come and put the lunatics back in the cage and bring sanity to this country.
In the new Nigeria that is coming, charlatans like Okpebholo will stop amounting to anything.
So, let them enjoy the madness while it lasts. Racoon: Hehehe! Make una dey set up anarchy and institute lawlessness. E go reach everyone last last. Whatever goes around because of politics also comes around. henrybomb: Instead of them to correct his shortcomings and overzealousness they will rather come out and defend nonsense.
You come on a campaign ground to dish out nonsense like “your security will not be guaranteed” “he is on your own” “person wey sey him no get 1.5m give 15m”
Same person said “the money wey I take dey do road na Tinubu dey give me” like who says such thing in 2025 or he loves goofing every time with no iota of reasoning….there is no such thing as exaggeration from the media he is just slow with his thoughts. Kanixt: Inform him to sponsor the visitation or what?
Obi for now is an ordinary Nigerian, therefore ordinary Nigerian can't visit Edo but must inform the governor. Oga, there are big challenges in Edo why not face it. richmond500: That is not enough, anyone going to Edo, even corp members and commuters should inform him first.
Me sef wan enter Bayelsa next week o, Gov douye Diri, shebi u deh hear? I no wan hear say I no inform u o Bentacur007: Corrupt politicians we get for this country eeee But Obi was recently in Calabar, so why did he inform Gov Otu of his visit to his state if it wasn't necessary?. If Gov Alia and Okpebholo did not address his shenanigans, he would not have informed Governor Otu when he was going to Calabar. You guys do not know what it takes to be an ordinary councilor so you don't understand protocol. This was Obi that detained El-Rufai for 48hrs, so why the hypocrisy? |

Penguin2: For those who don’t know, Prof Jerry Gana is one of the group of 38 who formed the PDP with Late Chief Alex Ekwueme.
In this interview he says PDP may adopt Peter Obi as its presidential candidate for 2027 election.
He went on to blame Atiku for not stepping down and supporting Obi in 2023; declaring that “Peter Obi is good.”
The options keep growing larger and larger for Peter Obi.
If not ADC, then Nenadi Usman’s LP.
If not Nenadi Usman’s LP, then Julius Abure’s LP.
If not Julius Abure’s LP, then PDP.
Game on! You will soon ask him to return to APuGA 🤣🤣. We thought Atiku was the biggest political prostitute but seems Obi has overtaken him. Anyways Wike waiting for him in PDP like... 🤣🤣🤣 |

The loan is under MTEF which is a loan plan. It is not only meant for the federal government but also for the states. Politics › 2027: I Can’t Crawl Into A Smaller Skin Called ADC – Lamido by Putindbutt(op): 9:35pm On Jul 24, 2025 |
Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has dismissed speculations about his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the party as a “smaller skin” unworthy of his political legacy.
Speaking with journalists in Kano on Tuesday, Lamido reiterated his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite its internal issues and pledged support for any political alliance, within or outside the PDP, that would secure Nigeria’s future ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“I believe in Nigeria. So any arrangements, be it within or outside the Peoples Democratic Party, that will secure and save Nigeria, I am ready to work with it in 2027,” he said.
Responding to rumours linking him to the ADC, the former Foreign Affairs Minister firmly denied any such move, stressing that his political identity remains tied to the PDP.
“I’m still in PDP, even though PDP has some problems, but I cannot renounce my history. I can’t simply walk out of my skin and crawl in flesh and blood and be conferred with a smaller skin called ADC. I cannot,” he said.
He emphasised the role the PDP had played in his political journey, having entrusted him with top positions such as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Governor of Jigawa State.
“So, I cannot simply renounce my history, my legacy and my heritage and say, ‘Today I got something new’. I am out of PDP. I will not do that,” Lamido added.
On the ongoing push for the creation of additional states in Nigeria, Lamido noted that while the demand may be legitimate, it does little to address the country’s most pressing challenges.
“Will the creation of new states solve our problems – insecurity, poverty, hunger and division between the North and the South? There are more pressing issues than creating additional states,” he said.
Lamido also weighed in on Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso’s recent visit to President Bola Tinubu, stating that the former Kano governor was within his rights to make such a move. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/07/adc-is-smaller-skin-sule-lamido/

Politics › Atiku's Aide Reacts After A Core Obidient Said Atiku, Obi Got Same Votes In 2023 by Putindbutt(op): 3:21pm On Jul 24, 2025 |
Paul Ibe, the Special Adviser on Media to the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has reacted after one of the top members of the Obidient Movement, Morris Monye said Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi got 6 million votes in the last presidential election.
Paul Ibe's statement was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
In the post that Morris Monye shared on his page, he said despite having the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar polled the same votes with Peter Obi who didn't have structure.
Here is what Morris Monye wrote on his official X handle;
"INEC announced 6 million votes for Atiku, 6 million votes for Peter Obi. Atiku had the entire PDP machinery and structure. Peter Obi had little or no party agents nor structure".
However, Paul Ibe has now shared his thoughts after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he tackled Morris Monye for reducing the number of votes that Atiku Abubakar polled in the last election.
Paul Ibe took to his X handle and replied:
"Dear Morris, facts don't lie. You can round up 6.1m to 6m but it is disingenuous to round up 6.9m to 6m".
