That's my point sir. Bolt is not always profitable. One needs to use both apps to make it

No think am bolt is more profitable.
No, Bolt is not more profitable. You have to use both apps now to break even. I'm telling you for a fact... Especially now that indrive is also giving bonus.

For the past 3 weeks, I've not paid much to Indrive. I discovered that most riders book Bolt now after being ignored by Indrive drivers. One was booking from Anthony to Arowojobe Street, Mafoluku and put 3900 naira and no driver was accepting it.

The same trip came to me on Bolt and my net was 3100.

You all Experienced drivers, i want to put this question to you.

If taking all short trips of #400+/Per KM like above picture, does it pays at the end of the day compare to long trip of #400+/Per KM.

This always baffles me and i am eager to learn more.

@Omoapena and @Giltronix @Pearl and other bosses. Your tutorials really helped me in this work o. I say to Allah once again to bless you all beyond human comprehension.

While doing all trips i can say i do make about 40k with 20k Fuel. I know it’s not enough in the faces of others but am still learning. It’s why I threw the above Question to the house
When asking question, make it easy for whoever that wants to answer you.

The 40k you "make", is it gross or net or savings?

Gross is before commission
Net is after commission
Savings is after fuel money has been deducted.

But to answer your question on whether those short trips pay, no they don't if you do it too much.

The reason is because, that 8 minutes trip you're looking at there can consume 30 minutes of your time and more. Consider the time you will use to drive to the pickup, the waiting time, plus the uncertainty of Lagos road.

As at yesterday, the lawyer is waiting for the letter to be approve. Then I will be invited to write my statement.

I will call the lawyer today to know if the letter was approved yesterday.
We all should learn from this. First of all, you don't have any reason to take the car to the owner for inspection on a higher purchase deal. His stake is to be getting his money weekly.

Secondly, when you know you're dealing with a demon, you have to come to the dinning table with a long spoon 🥄

If you can, borrow money and pay up the outstanding amount to the owner of the car. If he claims that it's because you defaulted, tell him you're ready to pay him up outrightly and take a full possession of the car. You can then pay the loan with interest as agreed with the lender.

Those of us that only have to worry about car maintenance don't know the less worry we have.

This is what happens when you marry for financial reasons. The lady obviously left the ex because he seemed not ready financially to marry and she got married to someone she felt met her financial expectations, only to still go back to the same level she ran away from.

Women should stop seeing marriage as a means to escape poverty. If you want to live a certain lifestyle, work for it.

If you do this full-time, ₦450, ₦500-₦550 should be your benchmark. Some people only consider the time it will take them to complete the trip and not how far the journey is.

Someone like me that drives only on Sundays when I have time, I'm very selective and don't do much trip so I calculate based on price/km

So you need to decide for yourself
38k plus on just 7 trips is great. However, for a regular driver, price/km is not a sole determinant of a good trip. Some short trips can pay you 1000/km yet they're a total waste of time.

Also, for Biodun1929, you have to look at the general condition of the market at any point in time. During rush period when rider to driver ratio is higher on the rider side, and it's surging on Bolt, you have to aim higher.

Because even the riders use Bolt to decide how much they will accept on Indrive.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by PuZZyNegro: 3:37am On Jul 16, 2025
Biodun1929:
But can you break down how one should charge, based on the KM of the journey? So that I know how much to add ontop of the amount for a trip that indrive brings.
I use Bolt pricing as a yardstick. I do more of Bolt than Indrive, as a result, I make sure any trip I'm taking on Indrive is way higher than what I can get on Bolt.

The reason is because, under some certain circumstances like traffic, waiting, noticeably longer route, etc., the price on Bolt may change, that's not the same on Indrive.

So I factor those into consideration before bidding. In fact, most of the time, I don't bid on some requests because the highest amount that is available doesn't meet up to my minimum acceptable price.

So, it's not always how much you can bid differently from what the rider put, since there's a limit to the maximum bid amount, but whether the maximum price is worth your time and effort.

Biodun1929:
Okay. Thanks for the comment.

By the way, the passenger actually paid me 10k, instead of the 8k2 showing on the app.
That explains it. The rider knew that price is not fair so he or she compensated you out of their goodwill... But I don't live my life on pity and consideration.

I charge the right amount upfront.

With this net, it shows that the trip was like 8k.
The KM you covered not relevant (to me).
If 48mins was the duration, it is an add-up of your drive time to PU, your waiting time and the travel time - this shows that the trip in action sense was like 30-something minutes.
8k for that time is not really bad on indrive.
Sometimes, indrive will throw a huge amount on that same time trip.
Keep hustling, baba.

Much respect, boss.
Who told you that drive time includes the time it takes to get to pick up point, wait time, and actual travel time?

Guys, help me analyze this InDrive trip. Is it good, bad, or ugly?
Not that a fair deal. You should have negotiated for at least 10k gross. A short trip of 6.5km will pay like 3.5k to 4k on a norm. You did x3 of it.

For those that said time overrides km, you must think that Bolt is crazy for favouring kilometre over time.

I also have interest in partnership of this nature i. e partnering with a pharmacist to set up a pharmacy store.
You just have to consult widely as you are the one putting in more money in the partnership .
Have a business plan.
Some legally binding agreements will be signed by both parties.
Just research and consult as widely as you can . Do not rush the process.
Thanks for the advice. Are you based in Lagos? I'm still looking for a befitting space.

Pearl1910:
But u really can't blame the riders
It's the app coys that allow such a fare on that distance. Secondly, u must blame the drivers who keep picking these ridiculous fares. Cos even if the app coy allows low fares, if drivers can boycott the app for a few days, they will get the message.

Everybody will price what they want to buy in the market to get the best prices and if they can get it free of charge sef, they wouldn't mind. But I have never seen a seller who sells his goods consistently on a loss. So I am wondering whether these drivers are getting free fuel abi is everyone now using CNG and I have been left behind?
This was my experience today. A rider booked on Indrive and put 2300. I was curious to know if the it is the app that suggests these ridiculous prices or the riders reduce it by themselves.

I switched to the rider mode and the app price suggestion was loading forever, so I manually inputted 1200 naira for the same trip I find ridiculous at 2300 and a driver accepted it at that rate.

The truth is, there's no justification for accepting some certain fair amount. Drivers that do that are low lifers and people that are very docile and complacent in life. 20k per day net and 10k per day savings is enough for them.

One was arguing with me on Facebook that netting 20k per day equals 600k per month and is more than enough, as if anybody can work for 30 days.

I work only 4 days in a week and I must net minimum of 40k, otherwise, there's no need for me to come out.

Bolt bonus is not reliable. Na so dem givẹ mé 10 percent last week. Moment they noticed I was meeting the 5 trips with better prices, they reduced it to 8 per cent straight up.

You can message them inapp though. Maybe they will address it.
They adjusted it automatically the next day to 6700 for the remaining bonus of the week.

Since that time, I've never chased their bonus. 14 trips is such a hard target that I need to do 1200 naira trips to meet up. The bonus amount doesn't worth it

The ride was 2500 and I asked her to pay 4500, she said I should step out of my car, hold my chest and shout I'm a thief 3 times grin

There's a bus stop before that park. All you needed to do was to clear very well at the bus stop and call your rider to meet you there.

In Lagos, if someone looks at you with dirty eyes, you look them back. If they try to misbehave, you have your leg on your accelerator bro...clear everyone 😄

With Bolt adopting the fastest finger method, I hereby declare Indrive the KING and market leader of ehailing business in Lagos.

I have never seen a competitor lose the originality and business identity as Bolt. Bolt has literally copied Indrive in everything but 10% commission.

Now that they have introduced fasted finger, can they just remove the acceptance rate? Because I wonder what determines the acceptance rate.

Is it the trips that I did not accept and nobody else accepted it too or what?

Their office is at that Edmund Crescent. They will not accept any negotiation. I've picked a woman at that Lastma office on Edmund Crescent that Lastma billed 200k for one way.

She said her driver was driving on Montgomery road and turned left at the end of the road to join Herbert Macaulay Way. They clearly saw the no left turn sign there and she told the driver not to turn but he did and the car was impounded. Those people at Yaba are taking you to their office straight.

Last week Friday, I picked a rider inside the Lastma office, Oshodi. Her Lexus 350 was impounded at Mile 12 because she stopped on the service lane to buy pineapple and those task force hilux blocked her.

When they asked her to settle, she said she only had 5k to give, they refused and booked her 50k in their office.

This woman works with civil defense but those Lastma guys didn't send her ID card.

So, it's not about being an ehailing driver or not, they impound any and every car. I've even seen them hold Gwagon on that bridge heading to Ojota from Maryland.

You mean you drove left towards the university road from the Herbert Macaulay Way? Were you trying to connect Herbert Macaulay Way to go to Jibowu or what?

Because if you meant to go to Unilag or Yaba area and were using your maps, it would have taken you through Tobi Lawal road.

And if it's the latter, did you see any other car drive through that route?

The way forward to avoid situations like this is to wait and observe the road to see if people are successfully driving through the road and the second option is to ask people around.

Also, was your glass wound down? How come they're dragging the steering with you? One rule I give myself is to always wind up my glasses anytime I want to do something unusual or find myself in a suspicious place, that way, I can use the maximum speed and get out of the situation.
