That's a big mistake, Sir.
I experienced the same with my father inlaw (my mother inlaw is late), while my wife was in school. The old my cooked for me, to make it worse, he forgot to add salt, but I ate the food like that. Normally I don't eat outside you know. It's called respect.

Please, find a way to apologise to your inlaw. We can't run away from the truth.
I accept I would have collected it. My friend told me that but I needed a broader opinion

You did not apply emotional intelligence at all.

Yes, you should have collected the bread.

Most African parents/ In laws et al might think you are disrespectful by rejecting their gift.

This is not the western world. You should have collected the bread no matter how local or little it looks. Cheers.
It's not about it being local or little. The Bread was gotten from Market Square super market. I just find it awkward giving bread to your son-in-law to be on the first meeting.

Gifts are symbolic you know.
FamilyShould I Have Collected The Bread From Her Mother? by PuZZyNegro(op): 6:31am On Nov 20, 2023
I traveled from Lagos to Port Harcourt to see my future in laws family. My girl wasn't around as she's still in Lagos schooling.

I went there with a family member and got them some items like shortcake biscuits and juice.

They offered us food and we ate. After the meeting and normal questioning, we were set to go when surprisingly, this people brought out two loaves of bread and gave us. I told them that the food we ate was enough, that we don't need the bread.

We haven't even gone far when my girl started texting me on WhatsApp angrily asking me why I rejected her mother's gift. That she gave it out of love, this and that.

I told her that bread is the wrongest gift the mother could give me. I am supposed to buy them bread and not the one way round. I intentionally refused to buy bread for them because I assumed bread is an everyday food that people buy and eat, so I decided to go with the package biscuits instead and here they are offering me bread.

If it were something produced locally by them like coconut or something, I can understand but bread?

Please, did I do anything wrong rejecting the bread?

We have talked about this here many times that bolt is now more or less a fixed price, the difference dont use to be much if you're stuck in traffic for hours, the only way bolt will increase the fare is, if you pass a longer km then the one they estimated for the rider...
I'm liking the discussion in this thread right now. This is the type of discussion that we should be having here. Issues that affect the business everyday.

Bolt price is more or less fixed. Paid waiting is a lie to convince you to wait for the rider for as long as they stay. It doesn't add up to anything. I have had to wait for over 25 minutes and at the end of the trip, the fare ended the estimated amount. Even the riders were surprised.

Same with traffic except when you carry the rider on a high surge like 1.7x. Otherwise, you just burned your fuel for nothing.

Funny enough, I have lived òn same route most part of my ife. My office is around same area too. I did è-hailing briefly last year. No time will I switch on my bolt or indrive app without getting a ride. Most times the ride takes me to the island. There are always ride. The main road has even been completed which makes it all better. At least from my base in iyana-isashi to either mile 2 or egbeda can be done without breaking a sweat except for minor traffic at igando on that egbeda route. As far as it is rides, there are always rides.
It's all about areas people are familiar with. I can take a trip to Benin City, but will never take a trip to Ibadan here.

The first time I took a ride to Ayobo, police arrested me for one way.

Some of these places may have a smooth road to drive through but when there's any diversion into the streets, it's horrible.

Festac has terrible bad roads with Okada driving recklessly in between cars. It's only on Sunday that anyone that wants to experiment with these places can do so.

Getting trips in those places isn't the problem, but getting trips bringing you back to your desired destination is. Most trips you get will have a long pick up distance and time due to obvious reason - fewer driver availability. Also, the time of the day matters the most. I stay at Yaba and you don't expect me to take a trip to such a place by 4pm. Most trips on that axis revolve around that axis.

Like this, I even avoid trips going to Lekki phase 2 as much as I avoid trips going to that Alasia side.

I know the tricks on the platform. I hardly ever call, I use their chat feature 90% of the time. Been a year on and off that platform so I doubt if I can be described as new...they essentially make drivers pay for glitches in their system. A friend of mine's bank card was debited without having his account wallet credited, I assumed he didn't follow the due process until it happened to me after using the same recharge procedure for 9months. The new one wey dey bust my head are rides cancelled by passengers not appearing on trip history, under normal circumstances they don't debit accounts in such circumstances as long as a call wasn't made but lately...they do so at random without even adding the value to the refund balance. The way I track these is by scrutinizing balance statistics. Drivers go hear am once they get significantly higher market share.
Indriver is a criminal company. They charge you for trips that did not happen and will never refund.

God help you if you go to Airport to pick a rider on Indriver and the person later cancelled.

You will lose your commission, your parking fee, and your time plus fuel for driving down to that place.

Worst are those ones that will book at a bus stop. You will get to a place where you can't park and the rider will be asking you to park there. Once you drive away from that place, your commission is gone.

I would rather lose my rating on Bolt than my real money on Indriver.

Their prices self is so ridiculous.

You can register with Bolt, you will get enough trips, but most likely far distance request nowadays, if you decline too much. Your account might end up blocked cheesy
I thought Bolt has repented until I started getting these yesterday... I knew it was time to close and go home.

They mostly do this when there are scarcity of drivers around an area or when some request is being rejected by drivers nearby.

What makes one a matured person is the ability to accept whenever you are wrong..

I got entangled with this good girl from River state and I am about to marry her.

She's already carrying my child. But my siblings keep complaining about her state.

Two of my sisters said that women from River State are known to be promiscuous and always cheat in marriage.

One of my sisters used her former school roommates as an example. Coincidentally, my two sisters gave the same opinion about them even when one did not know what the other has said regarding the same.

And the apex of it is when my sister said that they are also known to kill their husbands. I take this one with a pitch of salt because I know my girl can't hurt a fly but with the confidence she had when she asked that we should abort the pregnancy and that it isn't yet a baby but a mere blood.

It takes the fear of God for a woman not to cheat in marriage. I can't tell if I can find that fear of God in my woman.

Please, has anyone here had anything to do with a woman from River State and how has the experience been so far.

dear puZZynegro , i use God beg you, save money and do DNA.
I told her point black that I will do DNA once the baby is 3 months old.

I strongly doubt this tieing me down thing. I accepted responsibility from the beginning and told her that I don't want to abort.

So, why would she lie again for her to keep the pregnancy that I told her to keep already.

If I never wanted to take responsibility or marry her, no amount of dream would have changed my mind.

Welcome to a happy family life!👏👏👏🍾
I believe so.

As a Catholic, the church frowns against fornication and abortion but the later cannot be forgiven by just going for confession. It's a serious mortal sin and I am not a fan.

I just had to agree to the abortion initially so she can see that her happiness matters to me more than my own interest which is the baby.

And also, she won't throw tantrum when the burden of the pregnancy and child bearing weighs in on her.

You know women like throwing blames. At least, I will tell her that I agreed to the abortion and was willing to fund it. Took her to a good hospital self so there wouldn't be any story.

But thank God the decision to keep it came from her mother. I only have to focus on ensuring she's well taken care of until she delivers.

I would have believed if I wasn't involved in the whole process.

You don't know what the pregnancy means to the girl at this time. We're yet to tell the mother about it.

The girl just told the mum that I'm interested in her and that I want to marry her.

The mum said she will pray over it. We will let them prepare for the marriage ceremony before breaking the news to them.

Exactly, one of my sisters recently graduated with first class in Nursing Science at National Open University.

She works full time in a government hospital, she has five kids (schooling while giving birth to them), so I believe schooling and child bearing can run concurrently.

What you don't know is that you are planning the January marriage because she is pregnant. And that she is using the belle thing to tie you down. And that she has called her mother before the other call to inform her of the pregnancy and the mother decided to use the fake dream to turn your head.

Silly me. I may be wrong sha
We would have terminated the baby before the mother's call came in.

The day we went for the confirmation of the pregnancy was the day we intended to terminate it but because we went late and was visiting the hospital for the first time, it took a whole lot of process to get registered, see a doctor and all that.

So, we decided to leave and come back the next day to carry out our plan before her mum called that evening.

The pregnancy affects her the most more than me and I agreed to keep it from the beginning. She didn't walk up to me and say that she was pregnant.

We both saw the pregnancy signs manifesting on her. I bought the pregnancy test kit for her... She ain't roping anything on me bro.
