The guy in question might be the program director michealfinn's course whc is a diff frm all other programs and requirements.
Follow Michealfinn's path and talk to the program cordinator of your intended program.
His program reqs might be diff frm other programs offered at UoOttawa.

You cant be so sure that he was denied due to that reason solely,other factors might be inclusive.Moreover,if ur friend's sister is a student,her permanent home address should be Nigerian address not canada.Cos on records she is supposed to reside in canny for only her length of proposed study so a canadian address cant be her permanent home address.
This might be wht played out in ur friend's case whc is diff frm urs cos ur own case cos sis is a PR in canada.

nope...u will nt be submitting fresh documents.But you need to be admitted into a designated instituition to confirm u re a genuine student.And you will do necessary changes through ur cic account.

so far u dont fall out of status as a student.Once the 1 or 2 years visa issued to u expires,you can renew ur student visa as long as u remain a genuine student.

I have a job(can use that as home tie) but then my older bro and sis are permanent residents in Canada. am kinda confused cos this may get my app delayed due to strong ties in canada but my plan is not to let the VO know that my sis is based in canada, will use her address in naija while i use my bro as a co-sponsor (but with his address in canada). My uncle here in naija will be my sponsor. I need your advice pls.

The only positive circumstances i can share with you is that someone on this thread sometime ago stated in his sop that he will be residing with his sister who is a PR in canada during his studies.What a tie in Canada for him bt at the end, the guy got his visa approved.But most importantly this played out 2013 so i dont know if cic will still be comfortable with such family ties background in Canada.Moreover,you cant hide the fact that ur sis is based in canny.so far she included you in her family details when she applied,they will definitely find out.

bros the new rule since June 2014 says if you decide to change school when you get to Canada, you'd have to re apply (I think) for a study visa inside Canada.
