@mevisbleek: Canada immigration is tightening up not only study visa but across board. Go and research Bill C-24 that will take effect from June 11. This one wan make boys mad.
I don't think Bill C-24 is something to be worried about.They want to curb citizens of dual-nationals from engaging in terrorism and still parade demselves as Canadians. Govt wants to hve the right to withdraw citizenship from such individuals.
Once you are not related to any grievous crime, dnt think it cos for any form of worry.

The tuition/fees is around 2mil...We just kinda focused on the expenses for a year.

They need to know whr funds will come from for the remaining years of study.You get? does ur sponsor have more dan one source of income? and how much does he earn annually? Answers to this will show that even after you 1st year, funds will be coming from angle A and angle B to pay for bills when you get to canada.And it will also prove that you can maintain yourself without working in deir yeye country.Presenting an SOA of five mill is not enough to study for 3/4yr course.
Please address this issue before reapplying, dnt be in a hurry.

I agree on this, if u re familiar wit US forum...d v.o do ask this kind of question if dey cme across a self sponsor who is intending to leave his/her bizness here in Nig. They do ask if he has plans of handling over the biz to some1 here for management to strengthen his home ties or he will put it up for sales and leave finally for canada after approving his app whc weaken the home tie aspect.I think such clarification need to be stated in LOE.

I could remeber vividly when a friend's passport was requested for in 2012, when he got there he experienced a scenario as one Niaja working at the embassy told one applicant that she submitted a fake statement of result.And from his observation he believed the girl to some extent but the Niaja V.O will not just believe the poor girl.

@oyeleye well said.i think the problem V.Os hve is the difficulty in believing who is truly going to canada to study.i recently peruse the cic's site sedulously and some of the reasons highligted for limiting visas is the actions of past applicants that have used student visa as a cheap means of entry into canada to carry out illicit acts such as prostitution&drug trade.
So i think the onus lie on applicants to present truthful explanations and documents where necessary.Tho grace of the almigthy speaks volume.
Moreso,i also think applications are reviewed at first by Niajas working at the embassy while they transfer to their superiors when they are satisfied on an app for approval.So naija knows well wen an app aint speaking right.

@justica,i think there are some questions tht need to be addressed by ur sponsor.
1.How many dependants does ur aunt hve?
2.What is the assurance tht the funds frm your aunt is available for you?
3.Why is your aunt spending tht much on you.Wht does she stand to gain?
So i think you need a detailed letter of sponsor cos there is more than just presenting a SOA wit huge funds.
Note:Try search for @pchax letter nd declaration of sponsorship,it is well detailed

Nothing confusing here, i did not do medicals yet, there is a form called request for medical exams which you will download and upload, it basically says you want CIC to contact you for medicals...that's if you choose you live in one of the designated countries which Nigeria is among...i saw alot of people here answering no to the question about living in one of the designated countries which i personally feel it's wrong since Nigeria is among, if you choose you have not don upfront Medical exams, CIC will ask for "Request for medical exams" not "Proof of Medical Exams" they are two different things...thank you
