Do you know how many people are in Nigeria with talents like Zuckerberg's? The only difference is that they chose monetary value over passion. Case in point: Founder of Nairaland. In case you people hardly noticed, Nairaland has been stagnant for the past 3 years in terms of unique visitors and content with the main reason being the lack of passion. Instead what we have now is unregulated content on the homepage(Anybody can get published on the homepage by shouting out to moderators). what we have is a banning system which cripples creativity or heated discussions. I'm looking forward to the day when people can come on Nairaland and chat via video messaging or play games. A day when you can run monetary transactions through Nairaland and build a true social media ecosystem. The potential for success is there, if only the owner can rediscover his initial passion!
You spoken well. IMO I think Nairaland hasn't evolved much for years now. By now we should had something as dynamic as reddit.

Lol. So theoretically speaking, you type about 2 words in one second. In practical sense, you will take some micro seconds to read what is to be typed before your motor neurons actuate your fingers. Other factors like strain and/or diminished focus plus other unforeseen factors may set in, then u might need to type 3 to 4 words per second to meet your 70wpm. I hail u sir! You worsened your carelessly constructed fable by saying 'with special characters'. My oga, u are either a wizard or a liar
lol..maybe I over exaggerated a little, but I'm definitely above 60wpm., even with those special keys like !@#$ and co when you hold shift and the key numbers. By the way I've been a good typist for years.

With that Mavis beacon car race game, I finish average of 70+wpm. I've clocked 80+before, am being sincere.

Besides there are far faster typist than me. I've seen a woman that type extremely faster than I expected. She's an advanced woman and she has been typing for many many years.

CareerRe: 15 Common Mistakes In Choosing A Career by pxjosh(m): 6:44am On Aug 30, 2016
A large chunk of students are doing a different course or on a different career part because of frustration. Jamb has frustrated many people leaving them with no option but to go for an alternative.

Besides most of the courses offered in schools are not even heard of in preliminary levels I.e secondary school level, so many students get to know about their course in their uni level after admission, and with time they come to love and accept the course.

From all what you've listed, what other reason do I have to choose a particular career path?

Efriday1:
What was the reason chief?
Low jamb score? huh
No. They were having issues with accreditation which of which I wasn't sure they've resolved as at then. I just changed to pharmacy so they won't throw me to a very low course.

Difficult? Do u guys write MBs /Pros. @OP running the MB;BS/BDS programme is more stressful than your 5yrs pharmacy. Pharmacy can be lucrative but saying it is Difficult.... I will query that fact?? . Hit like for some of us who are running the 6yrs programme.

I REP LASUCOM.. THE PRIDE OF LASU!
liked. I'm running a 6yr pharmacy program sad

By the way pharmacy is not the hardest course, but believe me pharmacy program structure is 'stricter' than that of medicine.

There are some other courses that people study that I consider too intensive, coupled with the frustration from lecturers. I don't know how much to explain this but there are some courses that require much more than Pharm and med.

Where do we now place Biochemistry? I know a Biochemists who imports drugs. How did he do it?
maybe he has some strong 'backing' somewhere. As much as I know pharmacists are the ones with the license to import drugs.
EducationRe: PHARMACY: The Most Difficult And Lucrative Medical Course by pxjosh(m): 7:00am On Aug 28, 2016
I filled in for medicine in 2011, and for some reasons I did a change of course form to pharmacy. And up till now I think I've made a better career decision.

Even if I'm to come back to this life to study a science course, I'd choose pharmacy over medicine!

Why are we pegging pharmacy with cramming?!? IMO, pharmacy is just like any other course, with nothing particularly arduous. One thing is required in pharmacy (and with other courses): be consistent in studying, and surely you'd pass all your courses.

Loving every bit of pharmacy, while learning programing grin

As men of honour, we join hands.

You're welcome. Incase you're ready, I will recommend FluxBB. It is a light but powerful forum software. It has a handful of themes and modules to get you quickly started. You only need to do minor customizations.
.
If not for a project we are currently handling together with my wonderful colleagues, I would have volunteered to work with you. My advice to you would be "don't try to do it on your own"! Form a team!
.
Goodluck...
wow. FluxBB? And I've already started working with SMF (though not for what I really have in mind, am using it as a 'simulation', prior to starting the forum I have in mind properly). I've not done much with SMF though, just the installation.

Based on what I have in mind, I need a framework like that of Nairaland (but not necessarily a copy) - something that is flexible, light-weight and can be easily navigated.

So you'd advice I port over to fluxBB rather than SMF?

Hello,
I have a blog with an approved adsense account since 2013. The niche is education. The RPM and the CPC is too low. This is a blog I get an average of 70 views per day. So I want to change the niche to a high paying one. My fear is that my Adsense account might be blocked in that process. I need your help please. Anyone?

I don't think a lady has a right to love. That is what I have noticed in life. No matter how much you like a man if he doesn't like u back you would just keep hurting yourself n ur heartbecause he would feel nothing for u n would treat u anyhow without even knowing he is hurting you.
Even the bible never said wives love your husband ....it's the reverse
So for me, a lady only had a right to love a man who loves her well. A man love for u should be more of not even your marriage would be filled with this trauma u r going through....
Let him be
If he friend zoned you
Brother zone him n father zone him
B like hi brother
Or small daddy Wats up
He wld feel it
N free him
No matter how much I love a guy once am sure he doesn't feel same I dump him. It's not easy but I try...I stay stuff like brother how far...indirectly an speaking to my feelings
If he truly loved u deeply he wld want u
N only u
He won't evn bear to see another guy hv u
You made a lot of sense in this post.

There are ladies that have shown true interest in me, some even told me. But I don't know why I can't feel a thing for them, so instead of giving them hope I start withdrawing.

Hi Pxjosh...
Starting your own forum is not as difficult as you might be thinking. Read on...
.
Pick An "Initial" Niche
.
When starting your own forum, you don't have to copy categories from popular forums like NairaLand or NBF. Why? You'll be cloning! Also, moderating all the forums will be hard!
.
Instead, try to build your forum by initially focusing on a specific niche such as Technology or Health or Education, etc. This way, you will be attracting only those who share your interests.
.
Generalize Your Domain Name
.
Another thing to consider is your domain name. For example, if you're going for a Technology niche, it may not sound cool to go for TechForum.Com. What if there is a need to add sections like Politics or Education? Do we say that Politics is now part of Technology? No!
.
Well, get me some water!
Thank you very much.

Yes. But of course, I was visiting cafes and even spending nights at the cafe whenever it's necessary for me to design the blog or do some adjustments I couldn't possible do via mobile phone.

During that time, there 'was' a browser known as 'BOLT Browser'. That browser allows you view web pages like you were actually using a computer.
Wow I'm encouraged. I can now even use my uc browser to view pages as desktop, and use school library systems in my school.

By the way u started with subdomain or you just bought a domain name when you started?

RomanceRe: Why Do Guys Always Suspect Girls Who Shows Interest In Them by pxjosh(m): 7:27pm On Aug 19, 2016
Emeerald:
This is my first topic ever on nairaland and I will appreciate honest and sincere answers. My question is why do guys become "suspicious" when a lady shows some sort of interest in them and also approach them physically or via messages. Shouldn't they see it as a bold step and wait to find out what the Lady wants? Instead of suspecting their every move and also making the lady regret her action.
When a girl shows interest in me, and I don't like her, I try as much as possible not to give her a chance to come closer, or else she will start thinking I'm developing interest in her whereas am not. I don't want to break her heart.

Besides I prefer a girl a lil hard to get when I show interest in her, not her asking me out. Its just natural.

BusinessWhat Is The Truth Behind MLMs And HYIPs? by pxjosh(op): 11:44am On Aug 13, 2016
Good morning business men and women, I have very important questions to ask, pardon my naivety.

I am always of the opinion that for you to make money via business, you have to work. Yes some require little work and pay very well compared to others, but I don't trust schemes that require me to put my money and after a while they exponentially increase it while I sit and do nothing.

I'd really like someone to brief me on how MLMs and HYIPs work, and if it's worth considering as a scheme to money into.

In schools where there is Pharm.D, will you be awarded with a B.Pharm in your 5th year as a prerequisite or will you be awarded with Pharm.D as your basic degree?
For a school like uniben awarding PharmD, they don't give you anything in 5, not until after year 6 where they award you Bpharm and PharmD

sir Josh.. calm down senior colleague .. what you need to know concerning accreditation is that politics is involved....we, uniben pharmacy was unaccredited simply because of the pharmD programme, most unis are against it(due to ignorance) .. I heard from a reliable source( pharmchem lecturer) that NUC gave the faculty six months to prepare.. hopefully we'll get the accreditation back, faculty of pharmacy and Uniben are working tirelessly..so let's keep our fingers crossed
Thank you for the update bro.

But I thought they already accepted the Pharmd for pharmacy schools, so why beef uniben? Someone announced on a pharmacy meet up thread that unijos will start admitting PharmD students from their next session.

Let's just wait and see things work out to our favour. Five years spent already no be joke.

don't mind those that said you should leave the faculty. So far you were given admission before they announced the course is not accredited then you are save cos the school will not want to lose there students and I am certain they are working on NUC requirements to accredit again. I am talking from experience. We were told after our admission that our dept was not accredited cos we didn't meet up with some requirements. Which was when we were in 100l the dept did not admit any set 2yrs after us cos of it but by the time we were in 400l they did the needful And everything was back to normal. But just to be on a safe side, you can choose some representatives to go to the authorities
Thank you
