Hah! Oga mi.... My original void was eliminated and added to the livingroom upstairs and now it's huge... I don't want to see anyone downstairs. smiley

Hajji M.

grin grin grin

I could have had 8 room duplex but I decided on the void to make the space useless for now. Instead, I have 3 living rooms and a ante room. Why? Because the more empty rooms you have, the more you have a relation somewhere to give you an excuse to move in with you.

whats the name of that rubber mat, and where can one get such?..whats the cost too.
though am wondering if one put the nylon/tarp thing during the foundation stages, if it makes any sense putting this one again

It's called Bitumil ( popularly known as contar) it's the same material you use on your roof or concrete ceiling to stop leakage. The only difference is this is specifically made to stop underground water to submerged. It's rubber that can be burn into liquid.

I bought this from Idumagbo Avenue in Lagos island it's about N11, 500 per roll of 10 msq. You also need to buy the primer for about N9k per box.

Could please explain the reason for doing this before tiling? Did you do it to prevent dampness?

It won't allow the underground water to penetrate to your floors. And yes, it prevents the water dampness.

Qc1 I noticed you didn't do screening in your house walls before tiles, or you intend to do it after tiles?

This is what I did before tiling...

For rhe handrails and that void balcony areas the 750k cost is not bad at all.

Hajji M.

Really? And I thought dude was too expensive. BTW, that also includes 3 balconies rails. I will upload pictures when he install the glass tomorrow by God's grace.

Congrats Sir QC1 on your work so far. You never answer this Hajji question as iam also interested.

^^^

The hand rails was done by a friend. However I believe he charged about N750k for the handrails, 3 balconies and the void over area rails. If you look closely, you will notice that there are some gold plated bolts on the rails and there are also high end red coloured rubber like hand rest in the void over.

The higher qualities you want the more you pay.

Very good choice. Easy on the pocket and still look fabulous. I love them all. Good work. Thx.

I almost go for the Spanish tiles though, however the high grade Chinese just looks too good to be ignored. The former is just a name brand, nothing further!

Very good. We thank God, no demolition as some recommended. God will give you good health to live in it in peace. God bless you and the house.

Amen my brother. Everyone that came to the site that suggested to trick the builder into a bush and kill him are the same people that now call me "stubborn property owner ". With God, all is possible.

Lovely o. You have to give us prices and info for those tiles o. Also that lovely stainless steel handrail, I need info. Thanks.
I am at this stage now, but I am too scared to even begin. And these guys think I have $300m hiding somewhere. smiley

Hajji M.

Oga Mufu, the stainless steel are original with designs on the cylinder, it's so expensive no be small. I just had to do it for my void over area to materialized.

The fake ones will probably do the same job.
