Most have told you the solutions above and moving forward, never ever update anything you don't know of just because Microsoft is prompting you to. The Microsoft are only prompting the update based on Windows 10 and not because it knows what laptop you're using. They focus on higher or recent build laptops and not what most of us are using here. Some having an old Kaby lake processor would see an update prompt and just update what they see not realizing the update was meant for a coffee lake, sky lake or ice lake processor.

OP, even if you ran all the updates successfully, there's a slight chance you may have encountered another issue such as lost sound, USB - C port not working, mouse not working. Most people just update their laptops which are meant for OS build 1908/1909 at best and when you see an update prompt, you guys jump on the click button to start updating to 20H2 or 21H1 Windows security; thereby changing your mouse driver that was running on synaptics before to Alps which is meant for recent generation laptops.

Some after a 20H2 upgrade would see the drop down slider when they press the power button for like 3 seconds with the message saying, slide to shut down; meanwhile, they're using a non-touch laptop. How then would that person slide down? If you and many out there wanna update, go to your manufacturers site to do so... It's there your type and model of your laptop can be determined and what needs to be added or updated; if the laptop brand you're using has a good support assistant.

NOTE: Just because I've said this doesn't mean anyone should just jump and update anything. Jump into there and change the BIOS only to brick the motherboard, you're OYO. Ask for guidance... It pays most times coz information is also expensive. My 1kobo.

I updated my desktop BIOS drivers back then and bricked the motherboard good memories.

You have to either format the hard disk or change it.

I doubt it, it is an OS thing, he can run chkdsk to fix it, formatting is a cop out option. unless the disk is bad

for 2 Years I was reading programming everyday because I knew there's no point taking a job I couldn't deliver. but it's less for you guys, there are platforms to play in, then there wasn't much API Development, it was mostly Website and Integration or Mobile apps/Desktop Apps. people just need to be more exposed. There are so much options it just depends on one's level of exposure, Coding is key but researching is more important.

Maybe you are not aligning yourself well, with Java Skills you have the following options:

Upworks
Remote

or

Building Shopify Apps with Storefront API
API + Client and sell the Project on Codecanyon

Unless your skills is not up to par to what recruiters are looking for, because sentiments aside if you do not have good quality level, you will most likely be over-looked so either build a personal project that can make money, My advise look at Upworks and think of a solution.

I have seen the app you built, my advise don't build such, they are not new and to easy build, something different like a platform

e.g

You have to build something that has value. e.g Maybe A Food Platform, or even an Android App that you generates content dynamically on the fly so in the backend when you determine the content type and all, you can render that in the client, that infrastructure is profitable and can be used for plenthora of things.

Don't build simple things, build complex projects that has value and can be bought, Look at TapCart, you can start small, build something that will help SME maybe even the Agric Farmers a platform to connect food people.

Exactly it took me a 2 years to land a gig, and I had to do it for free, because no one would patronize me, do not despair it eventually pays out just keep working hard.

Follow my thread and learn how to think intuitively. No one will ever tell you waht to do. You will have to position yourself where people will come with their ideas. And you will start shortlisting what you want.

Who tells you that you cannot "blow" in Nigeria? I laugh seriously. You all want to develop apps and programs for services based companies when our economy is emerging. Many areas you can think of. But you must work harder. You dont have the skill of researching business trends and it is working against you. It is why your skill is not making you money.

You are asking failures to direct you. Lol. Of course, you can get good technical advice here but business idea? you better move to people who know it well. Asking business idea in a programming section is unwise.

I actually agree with this, business trends are important, and the fact of emerging markets we can build things to help local community but also foreign market is an added advantage too. So take this comment seriously too
