as a freelancer, I make around 100k upward every month (depending on job) Good part is that I ve 80k constant that is not negotiable + plus 24hrs fast internet connection already paid for. but am still gunning for more. lojik:Even I wouldn't do it for the same amount, we had discuss something on it together and I now understand the effort and logic it takes to do it. Dual Core:see who's talking, the CEO himself. - SAFE |
Is the 20k for transport or recharge card. this companies and their Slavery Pay. come to think of it.is it that am developing one website per month?, and if YES. Do you want to tell me that the site is only worth 20k? Let's be considerate, 20k HABA. and companies like this will ask me to work on Saturdays, and even Sundays if possible. am just wondering. - SAFE |
call me (olawale quadri), or on my YIM quadri20_wale we fix a time to chat and get it all done. (ONLINE) including the hosting and everything. Lookin forward to hear from you. |
I will advice you to be faithful with your employer, let them know your level of knowledge when it comes to web development. telling them you know what you don't really know is like biting more than you can chew. which always cause problem. You telling them lie doesn't mean you won't get the job. just let me know If I can offer any other help. They can even arrange for a training to fasten your learning. I wish you best of Luck. - SAFE. |
I will take it one at a time. and am speaking for myself. Beaf:am a freelancer, currently on a project with a state government, also a remote worker for a firm in France (purely for C# projects) as for the experience, for programming over 7year, C# 3 years. (I believe that in this industry of ours, people who made it far are those who apply the knowledge immediately they acquire it). Beaf:yes, enough on the net JUST GOOGLE IT. Beaf:my best book "C#.NET Web Developer's Guide" & "Oreilly - C#.Net Programming 2nd Edition" Beaf:charges is based on client and nature of Job. but the least I can take for any C# job is 80k. Beaf:hummm, can't says cos am into all what u ve mentioned. Linux-YES, PHP-YES YES YES, JAVA - not so deep, but enough friends are doin great with it, VB (VB 6.0)-YES, I start with this and I ve to confess for the first time on this forum that I regret starting with dis language. it affected me when i wanted to move to more C like languages. - SAFE |
webfactor:If that is what I will learn by attending that centre then am sorry am not coming. am just trying to be blunt, and call a shade a shade. jeshurun07:The best option in my own opinion, I was sent to a training on CSS/PHP/MYSQL(fully sponsored by my former employer) I found out that I ve to even correct my so-called instructor. gather your resources, buy a Laptop, get books (if you need any, Send me your mail.). discipline yourself and read. you be surprise the ground you will cover. don't forget to ask questions. - SAFE. |
@dual core, nice one pal I wouldn't ve said it better. @poster, if you've done it the right way, it will be easy for you to get help. - SAFE. |
jeshurun07:I am using visual studio 2008, with WAMP SERVER 2.0i since you already have WAMP server already working, all you need to do is install Visual Studio, when u debug/run your project, it automatically creates a server with a port ( u will see something like "Http://localhost:4354/default.asp/ The main thing is that with visual studio 2008, u don't need to install another serve to debug u project. Hope that helps. you can call for further clarification or Help. - SAFE. |
jmoore:did you just try to make feel like a novice or what? jmoore:Now, I understand why you made your first comment. - SAFE |
thanks for the advice, I hope they will listen -SAFE |
jjjkkkooo:please do and let us know how it goes. @omnipotent Thanks. |
jmoore:sincerely, I wouldn't take the job cause even a primary school deserves more. How do you plan to inform people of latest news and events in the school, not to talk posting result so that people can check online even if they are on vacation. e.t.c. Just an observation. - SAFE. |
sleek dude:wrong assumption, we ve enough of them just because you couldn't find one doesn't mean we lack them. as for your job, if it's about sending data to a client, you can do that using XML, XML is platform independent, and can be use to interact with any server technology. buzz me if the money is right. [ quadri20_wale ] NB: am a Web developer, and am good with both php and dot net (Using C#). - SAFE |
^^^lwkmd |
inf8nity:LWKMD, even d CMS you don't know how to use it like most of us. (PERMIT ME TO BRAG). if you want to prove me wrong tell me a plugin/module you ve developed for yourself to solve a problem. until then, STAY TUNED. -SAFE |
If you want your job to be be done in a professional way, please and please, view this people profile very well. NB: I can't do a website for 25k not even for 50k, so you will know am not trying to apply. and please let us know how it went. - SAFE |
@inf8nity,I can tell you that they are many problems CMSes cannot solve. If I may ask where do you run to in such situation since you can't code. and don't tell me to mention them cos I'll write a text book of it. until I see a CMS that solve all web application problem then I can give up my web skills. UNTIL THEN , STAY TUNED. @Dual Core, it's not worth it d argument. |
weblite:NOTED, thanks |
^^^^^this is called spaming, please stop it. you can as well open a new thread for this. jus because I don't ve much time for now to continue doesn't make it a dumping ground. Please STOP. -SAFE. |
pc guru:@pc guru, am not confusing anything for anything, the poster said "Why Are Nigerian Websites Not On The Cutting Edge!" and to my own interpretation it means in all part of the website from design down to functionality. I never said that we Nigerians doesn't use AJAX, I know enough Nigerian Web Designers/Developers that are very good with AJAX. I even gave a percentage to that effect. - SAFE |
Don't be discourage about the 10k website jobs, I laugh when a client tells me prices lower than 30k for d simplest site u can think of. my final words is "you ve my number, call me when you are ready." Sincerely, If you are Good I mean GOOD, you never be Idle, you will even be too busy for all those useless Jobs, even client wey pay 70k dey run after me up and down. am a self taught, so it all about learning for the right reasons. I LOVED IT. from day one not for the money but for the fact that I want to be a professional. Even if it's just HTML, CSS, Javascript, others can come later, sincerely the best teacher is yourself and you ask questions from a fellow developer. naija-doll:even in naija it's not. like I said earlier Be very Good with your skill sets. - SAFE |
based on personal experience, cutting edge website where built with AJAX, and 70% of our so called Design/developer don't even know it. I know enough foreign website that are not cutting any edge(LOL) so it not a Nigeria thing, is just that the number is alarming in Nigeria. - SAFE |
