Depends on the type of desktop powerpack you get. This is the type I use. But mind you, the max output voltage of this is 12.9v, but maybe you can get other types with higher voltage
How much did you get this please?

PhonesRe: Hi, Is It True That Power Bank Spoils Phone Battery by Queed:
Most times, power bank doesn't spoil your battery. Your battery will only wear out due to continuous charging and discharging (usage). If you have 247 power, you will most likely experience same degrading nature of the battery just as someone who frequently use powerbank. I'll also like to add that an average powerbank is far more superior than an average mains charger (in aspects such as healthy charging, safety, interference etc).
PS: Dismiss the notion that using your phone while charging it damages the battery sad

*I currently have a plan for the next version.

*Of cause I will discard the PVC since it's not structurally rugged for an application that involves mobility, and it's poor aesthetics too.

And about those plastic white boxes you mentioned, During the course of the design, I made a mistake by considering the packaging last ( trust me I have learnt my lesson sad ) and when the time came, the box that could fit my design was 3k, and I couldn't afford that being that I have spent quite a lot to acquire other components (I still de school o, before I go start to dey drink garri grin).

*Yes I MUST cheesy increase the capacity sir!
This current version can actually charge my 46W laptop almost twice ( maybe you missed it, but from the second picture I posted above, the phone is being charged not through the usb output, but through the white charger on the extension, and the extension gets its source from the box through the black cord connected to the extreme outlet of the extension ).

*Noted!

* I think 20W RMS per channel will be too much oo huh
Most of those cheep 5k Bluetooth don't do up to 5W RMS per channel, and many of them have just one channel! Well e depend on your choice sha.

*Thank you very much for your shipshape advice I really appreciate smiley

grin Here is my little Setup grin

I don't really know what to call it cheesy
some call it a power bank; some, a boom box (I guess it's because of its audio functionality); and a few call it a power System (them Techy folks grin).

What does it do?
Charges phones/ Laptop
Plays music (Aux/Bluetooth)
Powers a few LEDs.

Specks:

Battery 11.1V (10AH) li-ion ~ top balanced
Power - DC 5v, 2A per port(5 ports), AC 220V 100W max
Audio - 2.0 @10W(RMS) per channel

Some key features:

Soft start
Over Load protection cool
No Load sleep mode (helps save AC power while using other functions wink )
Shut circuit (fused grin)

I know say e no get leg atol atol when compared to other Setups here, men dey talk KWh I de talk microWh sad

But na DIY sha, It serves, and it was fun!

PS:
Before I forget, pleas look beyond the packaging (na budget!) and see the beauty within cheesy

My Oga,

Yes we are based in Lagos just 10 minutes walk from the Lagoon/Seaside grin grin grin.

The area is blessed with abundant cloudy weather, floods and lightning flashes.

To the system - there are 4 CCs - from left to right;

Victron Smart Solar MPPT 250V/100A - 20 Units of Canadian Solar 385W Connected
Victron Blue Solar MPPT 150V/85A - 12 Units of ET Solar 360W Modules Connected - thanks to two trusty NairaLanders
Victron Smart Solar MPPT 150V/70A - 12 Units of Canadian Solar 300W Modules Connected
Victron Smart Solar MPPT 150V/70A - 12 Units of Canadian Solar 330w Modules - will be setup this week as we just took them off the roof of our old location.

So effectively, I was making 12.75Kw of power from a 15.6Kw name plate array on the said day - I am still curious to see what the full 19.58Kw system would do.

16 Pylon Tech US 2000 bricks (8 stacks arranged each side of the cabinet) - that small black box on top of the cabinet is the PylonTech Low Voltage Hub which can help connect I think about 40 units of Pylon Tech together - it is required if you want to interface with the more than 8 Pylon batteries and have them all under 'smart control' - in an open loop system, you will not need the LV Hub.

At the center of it all is the Venus GX (small blue box in the middle) with many wires sticking out - this talks to the inverter, MPPTs and batteries and make sure they all work in perfect sync.

Interestingly the combined PylonTech stack call for 400A of charging current - that is way more power than I would ever want to process through my current equipment - I currently do 245A and may push up to 320A @ 52.5v when done with the install.

At the extreme right is a 15Kva Quattro - in restrospect, I may not have needed such a size or it may have been better to do 3 units 5KVa in a 3 phase config - I may run into issues if I ever want to connect to a 3 phase grid or Generator as I basically wired the house single phase since the Quattro drives everything.

On top of the leftmost Pylon Tech stack are my Raspberry Pi 3 and TP Link Router - together these help me poll the Venus GX for information which I then forward to my EmonCMS dashboard - what I have posted here is the 'family view' so the household can manage power effectively - there is another hidden dashboard where graphs, trends, highs and lows e.t.c to aid system audit and diagnostics are kept.
Wow!
This is looks really nice. Honestly I must confess, the way you all handle and discuss such levels of current and power could be really intimidating! God when! embarassed

Hello guys,

Anyone got any idea of how I can bottom balance my LiFePO4 cells? I don't know what takes 3.2v and no equipment to use and transfer its charge into another set of batteries. Any idea is welcome though.

Im sure sha if I check this house properly I will see my new box of resistors (though not the box type). And I don't know which exact amount to use to drain the bank appropriately. Any calculations for things like these?

See bank below.
Hello essegis!
I think that I could be of help to you.

First, I would make a few assumptions and you can make modifications based on your particular setup.

Your setup is 24p-4s

I assume each cell to be 8Ah

with 24p you have a total of 24 * 8 = 192Ah

I will assume a typical 0.1C discharge = 19.2A

I assume you are balancing @ 3v (you could use 2.5 tho)

Taking max deviation = 3.1v ( highest voltage on any of the parallel combination. I used 3% of the balancing voltage)

Resistor value should be 3.1/19.2 = 0.161 ohms

Power of resistor 19.2* 19.2 *0.161 = 59.35W

Ok so those are the theories!

In practice, it would be better you use six 1ohm resistors, rated at least 11W each, connect in parallel.
If the amount (or size) of the resistor become too much, you can reduce the the discharge capacity (0.1C used here).

I am still a bit confused on how you want to go about this, is that you intend on connecting the balancer manually? Or you have a circuit already to automate everything?

What about active balancer? Have you thought about them? The are more effective and efficient, I could design design one for you based on your setup.

Like these are typical assumptions.
You may do yours according to your taste, the math is still the same.

First I wrote the exam last year and I got the scholarship.
I attended their scholars connect program three days ago and its still like the questions will be of the same format. But then if you're shortlisted you will be told the format of the test.
People who claim to sell pqs are just scammers. One thing I've observed is they sell the same set of questions for different scholarships. Though they generally revolve around aptitude but the truth is these guys don't release their questions so people claiming to sell are liars though the questions they give you may help. In fact last year was the first edition of NNpC/SNEPCo scholarship so we are the first beneficiaries so its not possible they will have questions put out already.
Thank you and start practising G-MAT stuffs.
Thanks for the info.... But I need your help on this

Though all my 100l results are out, I don't have any printed/soft copy of them, I only have a place where I write them down.

I can't get a result transcript since my school is on vacation together with ASUU strike. pleas sir, how do I go about with the application ?
