Now he tells he sent it, but it was reversed. After so long, I tried reaching him, it rang, then he busied the number, and switched it off. Like this, I didn't even run a quick background check, cos the profile was registered April 2017.

Each time I talk to my friend in New York about my interest in traveling out of the country very soon, he will start telling me how hard it is to survive abroad and how tax is killing. He tells me how Nigerians roam about the streets helplessly just to discourage me Please ignore your friend, just like i did to mine. Do not get discouraged. All you need to do is have a plan and stick to it. 90% of Nigerians are very selfish and want others to always look up to them while they "form bosses". |

Seanjay: i think that is common with all of them, i have an aunt(my moms immediate sister) in UK also shes been there for the past 30yrs and she had two kids there and live fine she is even a nurse in the UK have, 3yrs ago i was processing my travelling the to the Uk on my own jeje oo and unfortunately for me she came home and was spending money upadan and claiming the boss then my dad was still alive and shes close to. So my dad so her that it even good that shes around that have been processing uk that may be she can help so she told my dad that no problem that she is going to help and after a week or two she left for the Uk and next i will saw was a call from my aunt that i should go to UK embassy in Lagos Island to make inquiries about what it will take me to get a visa (i was so surprise that this is coming from someone that had been coming in and out of Uk for the past 30yrs) but just to do what she asked i went there and i gave her the feedback(concerning invitation and sponsorer, account details and other things) about the invitation she said our two daughter can file that for me i was happy, but to my surprise she told me to wait for a while that i cant come now that it one party that us ruling and they have strict rule about immigrant and so on, but still promise to see what She can do and that she will get back to me, na so she take do till now. after have relaxed and had used the money i wanted to use for the processing for something else, so last 2yrs my dad died so my aunt started calling me again to sympathize with me and told me that she will fulfill the promise she made to my dad but up till now i still de naija, me wey don de jeje de process my things on my own i dont even first travel comot naija go disvirgin my passport na so she take shatter my dreams.... The Funnies Part She Can Call For Africa And Assure She Is Going To Help But Thats The End You Wont Hear Or See Anything Again... May Be Them De Fear True True Say If You Come You Go Excel Pass Them And You Will Be Dragging BreadWinner With Them.. Please don't rely on her promises. If you have your way start processing your papers sharply. |

bebe2, bless your heart for this post.
I know a lot of people who discourage people from moving abroad. Recently i had a chat with 1 of my friends, he's in Singapore, and i discussed with him about migrating abroad, and he was like "You can't make it abroad", "taxes are killing us here", "bills are too much here" etceteras. But the next minute, he's like "I have just built a student hostel off campus in FUTO", "I just wired 300k to my mum last week", "I wire 200k to my girlfriend in Nigeria every week for her make-up" etceteras.
Well, i have made up my mind to migrate out of this "hell" called Nigeria. I have filed in my papers, waiting for my permits. And the last thing that will happen to me is to get discouraged by any Nigerian in diaspora.
Nigerians in diaspora, make una fear God!!! |

presiade: Well, I have stated my objective observations about the country in my posts. It might be a bit easier for you if you have some cash to throw around before you finally settle down. I'm quite sure you'll get your permits soon, once you show good amount of funds. The languages (Suomi) is often used as a pretext, but if your business is online you should be ok.
I think it's better to live in a bit big cities like Tampere/ Turku/ Hameenlina... (Helsinki might be on the too expensive side) because of the opportunities that may be open later on. In addition, racism may still be a bit tacitly pronounced in small cities/towns...
Tampere is really cool, and Turku is also lively. Okay, we'll consider looking at the big cities like you suggested. We also have this relocation properly planned financially, so i am hopeful there won't be any hitches. Thank you very much for your suggestions. |

frankie2K: Keep the spirit high and dont relent. At least Finland is better than Nigeria in all ramification Exactly my thoughts, the situation in Nigeria has degenerated so much in the last couple of years. One has to struggle for virtually everything, power supply, water, good health care, good roads and prices of foodstuffs has skyrocketed etceteras. My kids deserve a better life and i owe them that. And thank you sir for your kind words and congratulations on your admission. |

presiade: I'm more determined than an average Joe. Most people here get broken and disappointed along the way.... People here don't tell how things really are to prospective students... If people were sincere in answering the questions I posed before resigning and moving to Finland then, I wouldn't have gone there. I'm not saying Finland is bad, but if you have something good doing in Nigeria it's better you go to another country no matter the stress involved (it's an investment that pays off later on).... As for links, you have to search out that on your own; that's part of your required research skills. With good grades, impressive GRE score and good recommendations I believe you'll be fine (say in US/ Canada).... Of course, not everyone can get full scholarship and grant in Canada, a fact!
Modified: I just noticed that you got full funding... That's still very good for you.... My advice is mainly meant for someone with no/ partial funding. BTW, how did you know I've graduated Hi, i was looking for threads on Finland and i came across your posts. I am making plans to relocate to Finland, not as a student but with my family and we have filed in papers for our permits. But i noticed from your posts that you don't have good reviews for the country. Also i researched about cities with affordable houses for sale and i noticed that smaller cities like Lieksa in North Kariela has houses for 40,000€ - 70,000 € than big cities like Helsinki, Oulu, Tampere etceteras. In your opinion what are the best cities to settle down with family. I work online as a freelancer. |

helpee: @ uniquepita is obviously a potential fraud if not one already. so you knew you were not the one that would send the money yet you were giving excuses your generator is down, your mobile banking is down, you are going to ATM for transfer bla bla bla when there was no money in the account. However, anytime there is fraud people start blackmailing the victim that he should have sold for less to legitimate buyers. nobody knows how much the transaction went for anyway but there is nothing like legitimate buyer. you trade with caution with everybody. @Ibraheem09 kept saying the guy would have refused to sell for less for somebody more legitimate. it is not moral. You guys are subtly empowering some people to dictate price for sellers cos they claim to be legitimate such that if such person got his fingers burnt you guys start blaming him for not selling for less to you. that is blackmail. You can blame him for not trading with caution not for not selling to you at a lower price. thank you Well said... I don't like it when some people claim because they are legit/trusted etc and would want to dictate price. This place should be an open market where buyers and sellers alike dictate price. Lets say no to monopoly!!!! I have been scammed by an old moniker before too, so yes, so everyone should trade with caution! |
