In as much as I know that USA is not easy, it's a country that you work to live, but every hardworking individual can always feed and provide little shelter over his/her head. Most of these people are lazy, not ready to work. Remember no food and shelter for a lazy man or woman. |

Hadampson: Tax Levy differences
There is heavy taxation in foreign country compares to Nigeria. It is not easy for a common person to accumulate wealth. The more richer you become, the more tax you pay. That's why you see all this footballers running from one team to another.
Its a must for you to pay tax if you relocate to US, even its a big offense for you to owe tax. They may jail you for not paying tax but in Nigeria, tax levy has limit I prefer to pay tax and enjoy good life, constant light, free health care, free education for my kids. unlike not paying tax and much on fueling my generator, paying much for education, can't access good health, and so many other things. |

Hadampson: Immigration law
A lot of people don't really know what immigration law really is in foreign country. It is a must for you to have correct immigration documents, if you don't have it you're not safe. And once they detect your documents are not valid they will depot you instantly. While in Nigeria this law is not very strict. Even alot of Foreigners sneaked in to Nigeria illegally and they still move around without them gotten arrested/harassed. That is why difficult to commit a crime and get away with it in developed countries, unlike Nigeria due to poor documentation of individuals. |

Hadampson: Racial Discrimination
Here, what we meant by racial discrimination is just that most of the foreign countries there are always a differentiation between the black and the White people (Nigerian and foreigners) and they give priority most to their white people. You can never see why a Nigerian will be their Director general or even heading the uniform officers. While sort of things are not happening in Nigeria once you have citizen certificate and you're qualify for the post you would be given/select. But eyinbo people always consider their children for a professional job than giving it out to a Nigerian, so you rarely secure a good professional job in foreign country except for maid, servant and domestic workers. There is much racial discrimination in Nigeria, only civil servants will understand, especially if you are doing a state job in a State that you are not an indigene, the tribal discrimination is much, you might end up not occupying certain positions because of tribal difference. Seeking for employment in a State in Nigeria that you are not anymore indigent is difficult. My racism is everywhere |

The problem with Nigeria is maintenance culture, don't be surprised that few years time you might not see those buses again, once a new government takes over in Nigeria, instead of maintaining old projects and adding more value to their states, they prefer to abandon the existing one and start something new. I pray Oyo government will maintain this, it is a good one |

wetdick: if you do travel, you will be posting it here.
In Nigeria even women selling in balogun market go to dubai for holidays.
you see the standard of living is cheap here no excess tax, even couples are getting clever and not borning more than 2 kids
we pay rent yearly, so with 500k, i can rent a 2-3 bedroom flat in a good area in the mainland.
my kids can go to good schools and we can even go out on weekends, if i save well we can go for holidays in cheaper countries in africa
you can call Nigeria whatever names you like the fact remains that you cant build a country, if you were so smart instead of complaining you would have build your village instead of running out of Nigeria to an already built country.
Nigeria is not a paradise but people are still making it here even some of your brothers and sisters return home to get recognition because they couldnt get it there
why you are busy abusing nigeria , people that understand nigeria are busy investing, building a country and making money. When you start earning that amount monthly as a family man with kids and much responsibilities you will know is not so huge as you think. It will be easier if your wife is working and supportive, if not it is not easy dear. I know Nigeria will be a better country one day. |

Schwartz: This is the post I read and knew that he didn't have a clear mindset. How in the world can you compare the someone earning 500k in Nigeria to a dishwasher in Canada. Its called minimum wage because all that the dishwasher in Canada will make is to live basic minimum life. With 500k salary in Nigeria you are comfortable. You can save buy your car, build your house to your taste employ househelp, driver and security guard. Why do people keep comparing wages like this? The cost of living abroad is very high. The salary deductions and taxes are high, the bills come in monthly and you must never ever be behind in payments else there are consequences. Plus the system abroad is credit and more credit. To buy a house in Nigeria or a car you save and fork out cash.Once you are done its all yours. But to buy a house and car abroad everyone does a payment plan. The day you can't afford to pay, you face repossession. If Nigeria can just get better with the economy, security and otherwise, Nigeria is the best place to Live in. my dear someone earning 500k in naija is an average Nigerian, when you start earning that amount monthly you will know it's not really much, before you can save to buy car, build good house, you might need a loan. remember you pay rent, feed the family, pay school fees, send money to family members, pay hospital bills etc from that monthly stipend. I still prefer the life abroad. |
