You will have to wait till January before you can apply since its not critical employment permit,

I think in sane countries you can survive without connection only if you have the right requirements needed. But remember you might also experience some level of difficulties without proper arrangements.

We have our ID's which serves as access to the wards, systems, library, discounts, uniforms have been collected though we are waiting for the newly introduced ones, ward familiarization.

It's better for you to relocate now that you are single, that salary is not enough here in Nigeria if you are married with kids, better you relocate now to a sane country, where you and your kids can enjoy free health care, free school, sane environment unlike Nigeria where everybody is angry.

My little advice is that you should think of future not just in the now,
Hope you won't be retrenched from that job without your consent,
Hope there is job security
hope is a pensionable job, if these things are in place you can stay back,
but please consider your children, they have alot to benefit as Canadian citizens
