Chinese government encourages this unhealthy trade practice and competition as a subtle way to take over global trade and economy to cater for their over a billion population as they have set a target to end poverty in China. No sensible nation will allow China to use her citizens to uplift Chinese citizens to the detriment of her own citizens welfare and survival. Every nation protects her own and not expose them to unhealthy trade competition where they become vulnerable and lose out at the long run, that will be shooting yourself on the leg.



For those who don't know, let me enlighten you guys a bit.


Chinese government will sponsor different Chinese citizens to different countries to go bring business ideas and when they return, Chinese government issue them huge loans at discounted or zero interest rate and they use the money to start mass production of the product they have researched abroad and then Chinese government will support them with more cheap loans that sometimes come at zero interest so long as they employ only or mostly Chinese and they use these huge capital advantage to penetrate different countries' markets, especially African countries where they then open massive trading warehouses and sales outlets to sell their cheap manufactured products sponsored by Chinese government that help them to mass produce and export abroad at virtually zero cost which gives them undue advantage and leverage over foreign retailers in their destination countries.




If this is allowed to continue unchecked, it will push so many retail and wholesale traders in African countries to economic abyss and it will affect the countries as their indigenous population that depend on local wholesale and retail trading will be pushed out of business and they end up unemployed and broke. But unfortunately, some Nigerians are only seeing this from the tribal angle that yes let Chinese replace Igbo traders thinking it will affect only Igbos without knowing that even their tribe now have millions of traders too and with time it will destroy the entire Nigerian economy.



Nigerian government really need to checkmate the activities of these Chinese merchants coming into Nigeria to open retail trading shops. These Chinese guys engaged in a lot of unhealthy trade practices, including tax evasion and taking advantage of our corrupt system to evade paying tax or paying the correct amount of tax while they pay full tax to their Chinese government.


Chinese government are backing most if not all of them with zero interest loans and other trade supports including helping them to export their goods to their destination countries at massively discounted shipping and export duty cost compared to foreigners that go to China to import goods.



America saw this Chinese government wuru wuru and Trump imposed heavy tax on Chinese imported products.



Another way Nigeria can checkmate them is through heavy taxation and ensuring full trade and tax compliance because most of them don't pay tax, and the ones that manage to pay exploit our corrupt system and the officials to pay very low tax compared to their trade turnover, and sometimes they force Nigerian buyers to pay them in USD to their Hong Kong domiciled dollar accounts when buying in bulk just to ensure they avoid paying tax to Nigerian government and our people are ignorantly hailing them all because of tribalism, una go later learn in Nigeria.

Thank you for your attention to this matter too, but you are wrong. There is nowhere in economics or morality that it is discouraged that the manufacturer sells directly to the consumer. In fact that is the ideal scenario - elimination of the middle man. The only reason you don't see a lot of selling to the final consumer is because of specialization. It is difficult to specialize in both manufacture and distribution. Airlines sell directly to the consumer (the flyer) but they also use middle men (travel agencies) not because they're trying to help them but because they have the specialty to sell more tickets!

As for government stepping in, OF COURSE! There are so many things the government ought step in, including all these loan apps and ponzi schemes!

U just help proved my point. Morality is relative if left to societal norms and expectation, because what is considered immoral in a society may be perfectly normal in another.

If a mother lives in a society where it's frowned upon to breastfeed in public with your breast showing, then it's immoral to do so. U are expected to cover up when breastfeeding in public or look for a private place.
The immoral act is not breastfeeding the baby but doing so publicly.

Same if a man lives in a society where it's considered wrong to walk around shirtless, doing so will.be considered immoral. Same with public kissing, u will be exhibiting an indecent behaviour in public. The immoral act is not display of affection but doing so in public.

That's why we need absolute morality to avoid conflict of societal interest.
What u have wrongly done is conflate your Christian view of morality with values derived from secular liberalism and that has left u confused.

As a Christian lady, it's ok for u to walk around without covering your head or your ankle. Try that in some parts of middle east or northern Nigeria, they will spit at u and call u shameless.
That doesn't mean u are immoral or indecent because u have your own definite source of morality.
It simply shows their source of morality is different from yours simple. U don't have to agree with them, u may only comply for safety reasons.

Now if an atheist who doesn't cover her head visit the area, on what ground will she disagree with them and say they are wrong and she is right. What is the source of her morality to beleive not covering head is perfectly moral.

Same for a atheist man who loves to walk around shirtless. If he travels to a society and he's forced to cover up in public. On what ground will he say they are wrong and being shirtless is not necessarily immoral.
What is the source of that morality.

I think you folks are confusing decency with morality. People's sense of decency vary and may or may NOT be due to religion. One person may be extremely repulsed by someone sticking their finger in their nose in public, while another won't mind at all. In some Western countries a woman breastfeeding in public is considered very indecent and banned by law, but we totally see nothing wrong with it in Nigeria. None of that has anything to do with religion but with the person's or society's developed sense of decency!
