HOLD - Pope Francis dies aged 88
Sat Feb 22 2025by Premier Journalist
Pope Francis, the 266th leader of the Roman Catholic Church, has died at the age of 88.

The pontiff had been suffering from a respiratory infection that developed into double pneumonia, and passed away at Rome's Gemelli hospital on ….

Pope Francis was born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1936, and ascended to the papacy in March 2013 following the unexpected resignation of Pope Benedict X. His election marked a historic moment as he became the first Jesuit pope, and the first pope from the Americas. World leaders, religious figures, and millions of Catholics have expressed their condolences, remembering Pope Francis for his transformative impact on both the Church and society.

Flags across the Vatican and Catholic institutions around the world have been lowered to half-mast in his honour.

This is a developing story. Please check back for further updates.

I guess you're a sympathetic humanist.
It's okay to volunteer for the voiceless, educate those that revel in ignorance. But you can't blame the mob, most of them are ill informed about the concept of self realization .

I believe most tik tokers are either BI or closeted gay
I'm not judging anyone, every one have the right to live the way they choose to (but not breaking the law)
I don't know what is a "sympathetic humanist" but I know sexuality is only part of a person. For some people it is a huge part, for others it is almost nonexistent. Also some gays are terrible people, just as are some straights, while some are very decent people.
Like this godisstriking guy here, he's always railing against gays:

Those Russian missile strikes on Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa and the recent one in Sumy. You think there were no top Ukrainian military leaders and Generals present? Jokes on you.

You only hear about the occasional Russian ones. Because the western media will do everything to hide Ukraine's casualty figures.

The sudden deaths of US & European generals you keep seeing being published, what do you really think happened to them? Stroke or cardiac arrest lmaooooo!! 😂 🤣

The last Russian Iskander strike on a bunker housing both foreign and Ukrainian military leaders.... European officials were crying and ranting even more than the bereaved Ukranians, why do you think that is?

Ukranian losses are buried so deep while they focus only on Russian losses. At the end of the war, everything will be brought to light.
I wonder what you'll say when they kill Putin, which can't be too long now

I do not have such because I would never put myself in a position to have one!

Think of all the tragedies that can befall a man. Being broke, bei g unable to pay the bills, being disrespected, having your wife cheat on you, being afflicted with incurable illness, etc etc etc. none of them compare with the pain of having a gay son. A man prays his son does not become a drug addict or gay…..and bad as being a drug addict is being gay is worse. At least with a drug addict there is hope he can be cured.

A man with a gay son lives his life in pain and heartbreak no matter the face he portrays to the world. That is your seed, that is your offspring, that is your legacy……a gay son! No matter what anyone says or how you try to rationalize it. You will always feel you failed, that your purpose of earth was a waste of your son, your heir, is gay!

Now you understand what how a truly straight man feels about being gay, no straight Nigerian man will willingly associate with a gay man talk less friend, not to even talk of best friend.

If your story about your best friend is a true story, I can assure you your friend is not straight but in the closet.

No straight Nigerian man makes a best friend of a gay man.
Lol, see brainwashed person who doesn't even realize he's brainwashed. See my post above. Have you ever asked yourself "WHY?" concerning all these your assertions or you just parrot them without thought? In this day and age a gay son can equally give you grandchildren if that's what you mean (assuming MJ was gay, didn't prevent him having children). So WHY exactly are you a failure because your son is gay?

Not at all. I am 100% straight. And I think that's actually part of it. I think most extreme homophobic people are those who have some homosexuality in them and are afraid of it somehow. I have absolute zero in me. If anything I like homos as people who won't compete with me for the opposite sex.
I had a friend, a very decent person, who was kind enough to put me up when I needed a place. Turned out they were gay. They never tried to involve me in their "activities". We stayed friends for quite sometime, till I left the area.

"I Was Shocked To Hear That I Was Gay" literally implies he is actually a gay.

Heading should rightly have been...
"I Was Shocked To hear people call me gay"

Jesus's stories are PARABLES because that's what the vast majority of people call them.
That's how language works!

Correct language is determined solely by what vast majority of people deem to be correct language. Example, "none of us are" is now correct because too many people now say it,
when before it used to be incorrect Also, "momentarily" can now mean "in a moment" when before it couldn't.

Human language has existed since humans began communicating with each other. The use of rhetorical and figurative language tools has endured for that long. These tools are not used by specific languages but rather by humans in expressing themselves across most human languages. So, this isn't about the English language. undecided

Also, if you ever took time out of your particular religious delusion, you would find that the Bible contains several other examples of these parables, allegories, dirges, etc. It is all over the many books for those who are really curious. undecided
What has any of this to do with the fact that "CORRECT" LANGUAGE IS DETERMINED BY USAGE? Once usage has established what is "correct", the authorities and dictionaries will follow. Not the other way round!. If most people start spelling kitchen as kichen (without t), very soon kitchen will be considered archaic spelling, and kichen the correct spelling.
That's how language works!!!

Most of human beings have chosen ignorance because of fear and lies.
When someone dies they have a chance of taking their second body to return. This second body if it’s hurt or killed, doesn’t have another spare. You’re lucky. Welcome your girlfriend and enjoy life with her instead of harlots. With her second body, she has access to information that will turn you to a king among men, but it’s totally up to you because she loves you.
I don’t know what lies or religion grew you with fear, but next time ask her quietly to show herself to you that you won’t freak out. But first you must open your heart to learn what you didn’t know before and remove fear.
The person in your house is your girlfriend with her second body as designed by God. She loves you deeply. If she wants to hurt you, you’d be gone since. So welcome her.
Do you EVER sit down and ask yourself HOW people who told you all these things know it?
Just because something sounds good or logical doesn't mean it is true. Yet you believe it without any iota of questioning

Established by whom? Language is by usage. Hence some things are correct in US but wrong in UK solely because of usage. That's also how Language evolves. 17th century English is different from today's NOT because anybody set up committee to change the language.

1. Inheritance from whom? Who is He inheriting from? Is there a law against God becoming God of everything he created instead of just Israel?

2. You have no point. The Central lesson of the parable is clear

3) Everyone calls them parables. Show where ANYONE called them allegories

1. Well, YHWH, who gave Himself the title "God of Israel," never changed that title to "God of the world." There is no record of that ever happening in the Books of Israelite Scriptures. undecided

2. I know no such bullsheet that you claim. undecided

3. Where does the book tell you that the story is a parable, though? huh

4. This is about what people believed, and we know for a fact that many different cultures/religions believed in this idea; the Israelites, not excluded from that list.

5. Wait a second...so you are telling me that against even against the declarations of YHWH in His very Law of Moses— let's not worry about Jesus Christ of Israel at this point—, you literally believe what is written in Matthew 27 vs 50-55 did take place? 😩😩😩😩

6. I just explained that various cultures had their own tales of people coming back from the dead, some even after everyone else was dead and gone, but here you continue to assert that these beliefs were not held by any group. For what purpose is this? huh
1. So who is God of the world who created everything, and who did he send to cleanse people from their sins?

2. Of course you do know, you're just pretending not to. Father Abraham even told the rich man he was suffering because he had it good on earth

3. My Bible (and all Bibles I have ever seen with headings) headline it "parable of the rich man and Lazarus. Yours call it allegory. No problem

4. No one has ever seen people who died long ago come back and living amongst people as themselves

5. Please explain how this has anything to do with this discussion

6. Give one example of long dead people come back as their old selves

1. I like to emphasize this fact since we have 3 whole religions out there that believe Jesus Christ of Israel was sent to bloodlines outside of the one chosen by YHWH, God of Israel. undecided

2. Jesus Christ felt there was a need to add the mentions of Lazarus and even of Abraham in driving His point home. Why do you reject His freedom to do so? undecided

3. Where does your copy of the Bible state that the story of Lazarus and the rich man was a parable? undecided

4. Huh? I think you are losing me since I am not exactly sure what you are getting at. huh

Again, the message is that no person would be sent back from hell or from heaven to warn the living of what awaited them on the other side. Jesus Christ of Israel, the only one who came back from the dead, did not come back to warn anyone but rather to claim His throne after He triumphed over death. undecided

5. Seems you have never read Matthew 27 vs 50 - 54 before now. huh

6. Again, some groups back then believed in those tales. The Greeks, Babylonians, Persians, and even some of the Romans, Irish, etc., have tales of people journeying into the underworld and returning after a period. I just spent some of my morning watching some TED-ED videos on some of these tales, too. These are stories from many beliefs around the world. I could share some links to the ones I watched this very morning, if you want. huh
1. Once God of Israel became God of the whole world, so also Christ

2. Once again you're being dishonest. You know full well (since it's obvious) that the message of the parable is that the rich and poor would trade places in the afterlife

3. My Bible calls it parable. Yours apparently is the only Bible to call it allegory. No wahala

4. People don't see people who died 4 years ago walking around

5. But you that read it understand the central message to be "people can't come back from dead"! grin

6. No group ever believed that someone can be dead and buried and after a while come back as themselves - or we'd have a bunch of dead people walking around
