Bluetherapy: Would you mind sharing it publicly for others that might be reading later incase you become busy when you get to UK? That's normal, but what's not normal is the 10k being constant. Normally it reduces year after year
I wish for an NHS offer so bad I wish to hear what you have to say after few years of working with NHS
Yeah, it's the 10k clause that's scary. And it doesn't reduce according to the contract I read. This means I cant leave no matter what since they know I won't be able to pay. I also have to work 9 months on probation. Whatever that means. I had to think very deeply today and realized, my life is actually gonna be in their hands. I have no leverage at all. Also while searching for other home care jobs, I realised their package isn't GOOD at all compared to others. So, what's the stress?. They only offer osce payment, visa and flight ticket. Others I have seen offer these things too plus dbs check, uniform, paid break and leave, launch meal, 2k welcome bonus. One even say dem go pay vacation and also 1k end of the year bonus(5k if you have worked with them for 5 years). My own home care no even give holiday break.. I will work even on holidays on standard rates(other I have seen actually pay more on these days)
I accepted the offer few days and we were at the stage of getting COS, something just mentioned to me.. "do you actually want to be a slave?" The very next minute, I emailed them explaining why I want to withdraw my application due to personal reasons. I wouldn't want them to send the COS cause I will be stuck since multiple companies can't provide COS for me at the same time.
I don dust my trac application again.
About my comment on NHS, there is career growth, more flexible working hours, and lesser work load. Also, NHS no fit do the kind wayo some home care fit do. Like @hunnybee said, what if I made a mistake or dem just wan rope me and decide to take their sponsorship?? I don't think this is common with NHS as it is with home care. Although, I'm still searching for both but with more focus on hospital now.
Browncheeks: Congrats Girl.... I got 2 NHS offers yesterday too.. I've been over the moon. I've got 3 interviews next week plus o. For those searching for jobs, please don't give up. God who started the journey will finish 4 us all.
Congrats ma'am. How una dey do am? I have never gotten an interview from nhs talk more of offer. I don tire. I got an offer from a care home..a conditional offer with a £10k clause(I will pay should I leave before the 3-year contract). That's scary.
Contra5: Thank you Mamatukwas! I follow your page on IG and likes your post whenever I go there. I like hardworking women. Well done! If teaching is your forte, I think you should have a masterclass/online course. It will help a lot of migrant wives with kids.
Chreze: Also I have called you bro because of the (m) on your profile, if I was wrong you correct me. It’s more reasonable addressing people by what they prefer.

IDK but i kinda have a feeling it might just be a false story. I don't take FB stories seriously and also deportation seemed too extreme. Haba But I have taken some lessons from the story whether true or false. I have just been thinking how that family will survive such? Whoever suggested the shopping is in a big mess lol
Chudi147: I'll ask you to learn HTML which is like the basics. It'll give you an idea of what programming looks like, then you can go into python and javascript... considering the way tech is moving with AI and ML booming in the past few years programming might not be very much needed in the future as it's needed today because machines will be able to learn on their own and not requiring programs to tell them what they are to do. But IoT will still need to be programmed I believe and that's where JS and Python come into play. Most people prefer Python over JS because it's beginner-friendly and cross-platform. JS is a little difficult for most beginners but to be a power programmer you would need to learn the two. Here are a few links to the best tutorials on youtube I've seen so far.
mayluv: I personally don't think it matters. You should be able to prove that they are one and same person. If you have a marriage certificate, I believe that you should be covered. NB: this is my personal opinion and not based on any rule please
quivah: Hi my people. My family and I are enroute Swansea come Jan. Finally!!
However, there's one thing I have on my mind that has been given me concern. During covid vaccination I dropped my father's name as my last name however, my passport, health certificate and everything carries my maiden name. I did the vaccination before any of the others avd it just happened that I dropped my new name subsciously lol. But thinking about it now, it's scary. Is there any implications to this? Or is it possible to change the name I have on the covid card??

Biko help a sister.
Please advise me. Should I leave things as they are, or I should try and see if I can change the name on the card, or can my marriage cert and newspaper change of name stand in?

GirlieforJesus: 1. Nurses from Nigeria are getting NHS job offers through direct applications, not all NHS jobs are meant for nurses who are already in the UK, there are jobs advertised for people who need sponsorship for tier 2 visa.
Like I said, I just prefer NHS job for a start, i'm more comfortable with their packages.
2.Concerning the covid certificate, this particular care home will request for it before even considering you for interview.
1. I didn't say otherwise. I only pointed to the fact that most ads I have seen wanted Nurses with UK experience or are in the UK.
2. Oh wow. I got an offer from a carehome without them asking for covid certificate sha. Infact, I just collected my shot on the 1st.
I was about to ask here if it's possible to collect the 2nd dose in UK because I will be there before the date I was asked to come for the 2nd dose.
GirlieforJesus: I have a link for care home jobs, if you are interested drop your email. Personally, I would prefer to relocate via NHS job so I'm still applying and hoping for a positive response soon. I've gotten interview invites from care homes but I didn't reply their messages. I'm 100% down for NHS jobs even if it takes more time to get an offer unlike home care jobs.
NB; a major requirement for this care home link is covid vaccination certificate, ensure you have one pls.
Why are you so down for NHS job?
I thought we all are. Care home just seems to be the faster option and from there you can easily move to NHS or private hospital. Most of ads I have seen from NHS want RN with UK experience or RNs that are already in UK that's why it seems a bit hard getting an offer from them Plus doesn't NHS require covid vaccination too??
Pagxy: Congrats o. Have you finally decided on taking the Swansea offer? Hope all of us will have the same testimony.
Yes, I am. I have done my research and I have been able to reach two of their staff. I heard something good. A friend who left for Sunderland 2 weeks ago also said the £10k clause was in her contract too. And Amen
chidirobert: 3 Congratulations to you bro and thanks for answering my question,I wish you all the best as you move to UK for a better life and pray I will be joining you sooner. You passed IELTS before writing CBT?
Yeah I passed IELTS first. But there is not order. And thank you. And Amen
chidirobert: Please how long did it take you to get the job after passingCBT AND IELTS exams??. I got an offer in Swansea. Care home job. But what I am reading about Swansea isn't isn't that pleasant. Is there anyone living in Swansea here?
Do you think I should look further? The care home contract says 3 years or if i intend to leave before then, then I will have to pay a fee of £10k. The manager said they had to put the clause in place because a lot of their RN leave as soon as they get hospital jobs...causing constant change in staff with affect their patients. I googled about the care home and the reviews were good but the important question is how is Swansea??. I seem to be reading lots of violence, drug, ruggedity about them online.
It took me a while to pass IELTS. but I got a job within 4 days of passing cbt. I haven't completed my nmc registration. At the last stage tho, just waiting for their response.
Richdee1: You signed up and applied. Sorry to ask do you have experience or is experience needed when you're being interviewed?
I have experience. I got 4 interviews. 2 paper interviews. The first was about myself, education, and career. The 2nd was about my field,... a clinical interview.
Then I got 2 other Skype interviews. The first was about my work experience and things relating to my field and current place of work..covid19, how fast I can start blah blah The 2nd was about their job description and then contract
It was tough I won't lie. But my experience was asked but I don't think it's a big deal...because it was just a "by the way" question.
Hunnybee: No, I am not in wales. I am in England. There’s too many red flags here. Knowing what I know about the UK now, I would absolutely not take the job if i were you. What is the definition of ‘if you don’t commit to your work’ ? Does that mean if you don’t do overtime or extra shifts? Or does that mean if you refuse to come back in on your days off? My deduction from this is that it’s a small care home possibly without any other branches. You’ll be isolated, they can change the law as they please, if you fail to comply they can threaten to take away your sponsorship, they might even make things up and report you to NMC, or you might genuinely make a mistake and they take it up with NMC. It sounds like modern slavery to me. Are you a RMN?
Can I send you an email? It is a highly recommended care home on carehome UK. The 6 probation period has to do with when I pass osce. Then a 3 month probation period after which permanent employment will be confirmed as long as they receive no complaints about my work. I have another interview with the Manager today. And i will be sent my job description in a doc. I'm a RN.
I will take your concerns up and ask better questions regarding the probation and why staff leave often. I have researched about them and they have more than 95% +ratings
Hunnybee: If i were you, I would be more concerned about the fact that 1. They have a high turn over rate even though they pay more than the NHS does 2. They require you to pay more than they spent bringing you in before you can leave. Why do the nurses keep leaving for other jobs like the manager said? You don’t know it cos you’re not in the system yet, but going by my experience in this Country i can assure you that there’s something inherently wrong. And the only reason why they put the clause is to stop you from leaving no matter what. £10k is a lot of money, it will be enough to put down as deposit for mortgage in some parts of the Country. Please choose wisely.
Yes, also a big concern for Me. I spoke with the owner actually, and I asked why such amount. He said it was £3500 before but they had to increase it because their RNs were always leaving within months of starting because they get hospital jobs. He said most of them just used care home as an opportunity to leave the country. And since their facility is a mental health institution, constant change in staff affects their patients...blah blah. He was overly friendly and I kon dey reason say hope no be trapped based on my interview experiences here. It's still a big concern for me. In fact, they sent me their contract last night. Non negotiable. I will start working on probation for 6 months before becoming permanent staff. If I however, don't commit to my work, the probation period will be extended until I satisfy them. I have to work with them for 3 years or pay £10k if I intend to leave before then Pay is enticing No public holiday Monthly staff rewards Osce, visa and flight will be paid for Single room accommodation Shift
Naijasumii: As a Nigerian, I don't think that should be much of an issue to you... Once you know how to conduct yourself.. Since you already the knowledge of how the place is, it will help you to be better prepared
Lol @moniker.
My brother, I'm not in a haste. Na strange land we dey talk about. I just need a better knowledge of what's happening there.

AmandaBloom: Good evening house, please there's this question I've been meaning to ask, I'm a young nurse and I'll like to migrate to UK so, is it advisable to process the whole immigration stuff through the help of travel agents (the likes of Johnathankings) or just process it myself.
sharkdodo14: You didn't miss a step, you can input your surname as company name. Only ensure that you choose online delivery(into your mail) in the space for where you want it to be delivered to. You don't have to worry about VAT too, put your correct name, home address, email address, phone number and postcode. And also, use same info for billing and shipping address.
Thank you.. yes, I didn't make any mistake. I have booked the exam. Centre is in Lagos
MindHub requires a voucher, which i presume you don't have.
I really can't vividly remember the process again but you need to choose an exam centre that is close to you here in Nigeria. then you'll see their contact details.
Wait sef, is it NMC UK verification/registration you want to pay for OR CBT exams?
Im certain I didn't miss a step but i will go back and check..maybe on laptop.
I'm trying to pay for CBTexams. I'm trying to pay for the voucher on mindhub and on mindhub, I haven't seen where to chose the local testing company.. the stage I am right now requires I pay for the voucher...yet I'm asked to input a company's name but I am lost. I will starg the process again...maybe I made an error somewhere.
Hi guys. Please I am trying to book my cbt exam but I am stuck here. What company name am I required to put? My place of work?
Sorry if it sounds stupid, but the payment isn't refundable so I'm just trying to be careful plus no answer came up on Google regarding this question. Please, help. Secondly, can I use another person's credit card(USA) to make payment?
