Gradually Ibos will learn that nzogbu-nzogbu politics can never take them anywhere.

Everything isn’t Nzogbu Nzogbu. Diplomacy goes further.

Everyone is aware of the insecurity around that area which caused the delay, as the Minister understandingly stated, but he also gave them a firm deadline with a subtle threat if they fail.

”What I want them to know is that there are other construction giants that can also deliver quality work. So we don’t want to go beyond 2024 with this project, not 2025. That is not what the president has directed.”

The minister confirmed that funding for the project is not the issue for the delay in the road completion, saying insecurity also played a role.

They are APC members in the day time and Labour Party members at night.

"So there is no way they can convince anybody that knows them very well that they are APC members. These are characters I know very well that worked for Labour Party in the last general elections.

"It's bad for them to be playing the hide and seek games of parading themselves as members of Southeast APC Young Progressives Forum when they are actually backstabbers of the same APC.

"Pascal Candle that parades himself as their national convener is my friend, so I know what am saying. He is only claiming APC with his mouth but he is actually working for Labour Party.
No wonder PitObi got 99% percent of Anambra & SE votes.

Even the few assumed APC members were working for ‘Elupee’. Yet the same clannish hypocrites would attack WIKE, our FCT Minister, for anti-party activities.

PoliticsRe: Niger Coup Is Hausa Coup (facts) by QuotaSystem: 5:36pm On Aug 13, 2023
a4cube:
How yorubas and hausas are taking different stand also baffles everyone.

You guys want to use ecowas to attack buhari in Katsina in the guise of fighting Niger.
It shouldn’t baffle anyone.

Some selfish, insensitive and ignorant Yorubas are desperately trying to save face for the President after the initial blunder of issuing an ineffective ultimatum (understandably due to inexperience), and want a military show of strength by invading Niger without considering the effects on bordering Northern states and of course the North will not allow such foolishness by any means. A good chunk of them also nurse the fear of a similar occurrence here if nothing is done which is also rational but highly unlikely.

What irks however, is their seeming insensitivity to the plight of the North if war breaks out and seeming readiness to sacrifice Northern interests for their injured, drooping ego with the failed ultimatum. Forget all the baseless Hausa vs. Arab ethnic conspiracy theories they’ve been spinning that are full of holes like some smart members here have called out.

However, this is just a misunderstanding that is being ironed out diplomatically. The North-West alliance remains as unblemished as our continued support for President Tinubu, the best candidate in the last elections that we unregrettably gave our winning mandate. I’m glad our political and religious leaders took the rudder and the coupists are finally willing to dialogue with ECOWAS for a peaceful resolution and return to civilian, democratic rule.

The threat was a masterstroke, remember AU also issued a 14day ultimatum. The major saving grace of the coupists are the northern elites who intervened based on close affinities to both sides. The latest resolution by ECOWAS to deploy standing troops also sent down shivers, who could think that a military dictator could apologize. ECOWAS negotiated from a weaker position in Mali & Burkina faso which the current leadership of ECOWAS doesn't want a repeat.
I would have totally agreed with you if all these happened before the initial ultimatum elapsed.

The fact that they called bluff on the ultimatum without consequences….let’s just count our wins…including the crippling sanctions.

The initial threats and needless ultimatum complicated what could have been resolved earlier and more easily. We were talking at each other, instead of talking with each other.

Thankfully, wisdom and reason have prevailed and peaceful routes to resolution are now the only cards on the table. The wicked dreams of embittered ipob terrorists and other selfish & insensitive war mongers have been prematurely terminated.

PoliticsNiger Coup Leaders Agree To Dialogue With ECOWAS by QuotaSystem(op): 2:15pm On Aug 13, 2023
Niger Republic coup leader, General Abdourahmane Tchiani has agreed to dialogue with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) after his meeting with Nigerian Islamic scholars led by the national leader of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau in Niger Republic.

According to Niger Republic’s Prime Minister, Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine, General Tchiani gave the green light for talks with ECOWAS and was optimistic the talks with ECOWAS would take place in the next few days.

“We have agreed and the leader of our country has given the green light for dialogue. They will now go back and inform the Nigerian President what they have heard from us. we hope in the coming days, they (ECOWAS) will come here to meet us to discuss how the sanctions imposed against us will be lifted,’’ he said.
More details...

Nigeria’s Intervention Team, which included notable Islamic scholars from the country, met with the coup leaders in Niger over the weekend, and all parties decided to strengthen the option of dialogue in resolving the country’s political problem.

The Islamic Ulammas led by Sheik Bala Lau met with General Abdourahmane Tchiani for several hours in Niger’s capital Niamey during which they deliberated on all the issues including the demand by ECOWAS leaders that former President Bazoum be reinstated.

Bala Lau, who is the National Chairman of Jamatul Izalatu Bida Waikamatu Sunnah, said the clerics were in Niger on behalf of President Bola Tinubu who accepted their request to intervene.

Sheik Lau said the team had earlier told President Tinubu who is also the Chairman of Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government that their position is that the political impasse in Niger is resolved through dialogue.

He, therefore, told General Tchiani that the visit to Niger was to engage in constructive dialogue to encourage him and other military leaders behind the coup to toe the path of peace instead of war to resolve the crisis. Responding, General Tchiani who accorded the team warm reception welcomed their intervention. He said their doors were open to explore diplomacy and peace in resolving the matter.

General Tchiani, however, said it was painful to the coup leaders that the ECOWAS leaders did not hear their side of the matter before issuing ultimatum to them to quit office.

He claimed the coup was well intended, stating that they struck to starve off an imminent threat that would have affected not only Niger Republic but also Nigeria.

He also apologised for not according the team sent by President Tinubu led by former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd) the required attention because they were angry about the ECOWAS ultimatum.

While tracing the historical ties between the two nations, he said Niger Republic and Nigeria were not only neighbours but brothers and sisters who should resolve issues amicably.

Speaking with journalists in Niamey after the meeting, another member of the intervention team and Chief Missioner of Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Sheik Ahmad Abdulrahman, said contrary to reports in some sections of the media, the team was well received by General Tchiani and both parties had fruitful discussions.

“We will now go back home and report to President Tinubu what we have discussed and press it on him that war is not an option in resolving the matter.

“We believe that war is an ill wind that will not blow any good and that peaceful resolution should prevail.”

The team comprised scholars from various Islamic sects in the country. Among them were Sheik Kabiru Gombe-Secretary, Jamatul izalatul bida waikamatul sunnah, Sheik Yakubu Musa Hassan Katsina-Director Daawah, JIBWIS, Sheik Ibrahim Dahiru Bauchi- Rep Sheik Ibrahim Bauchi and Dr Khalid Aliya- Secretary General, Jammatul Nasril Islam. Others included Sheik Karibullah Nasiru Kabara- Leader Khadriya Group Nigeria, Sheik Ahmad Abdurahman, Professor Salisu Sheri- Deputy Secretary-General Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sheik Nasiru Abdul Muhayuid- Director Admin, JIBWIS Jos, Professor Mansur Sokoto, and Alhaji Mele Kyari.

Lol!

You can continue to twist arguments to suit your narrative to please yourself.

My aim was to point out to you that the president doesn’t always get what he wants from the court no matter how powerful he is.

Buhari hated Igbos with every vein in his system. He desperately wanted to deal with Nnamdi Kanu (would have even killed him if he had his way), but the judiciary still ordered his release under the nose of the one with “yam and knife”.

So, I gave you the instance of Nnamdi Kanu and Buhari to let you know that Tinubu might not get what he wants from the judiciary no matter the influence you think he welds.

And I don’t you were gonna dispute the fact that Tinubu will be become useless from the second he’s sacked by the court.

Dem no born him and him generation well to try nonsense if the courts sack him.
You're going around in circles without making any concrete point.

The supreme court never released Kanu. The appeal court gave the order, based on technicalities, which Buhari succesfully evacuated to ensure Kanu faces his actual terrorism charges. Kanu can never escape those charges, take that to the bank.

Buhari then still has his way, as he will inevitably, succesfully (and legally cool) nail Kanu after succesfully bundling the terrorist back and caging him in Nigeria. Yam & Knife.

Tinubu won his election and we in the North that gave him our mandate know it (nobody can win Nigerian elections without northern votes which ip-obi can never get) so it is impossible for him to be sacked by the tribunal.

Even Hoe-bi did not dispute his victory & your hope for his disqualification based on watery allegations, is but a pipe dream.

Exactly!

Buhari obtained a stay of execution.

But why did he obtain stay of execution if the Supreme Court hadn’t ordered the release of Kanu against his wish?

And do you compare the Kanu’s issue to Tinubu’s mandate?

Stay of execution could be gotten against Kanu’s release, but the very second the Supreme Court sacks Tinubu, he loses all powers and becomes worthless like a used sanitary pad.

If he does do anyhow, he would be charged for treason; he and whoever helped him.
Wrong again. The Supreme court NEVER ordered the release of Kanu. That was the Appeal Court & the FG succesfully secured a stay of execution so it can file 9 new grounds (the reason Kanu is still rotting in DSS dungeon today).

You cannot appeal the judgement of the supreme court. You probably know that but are just trying to be crafty.

The appeal court only gave the release order based on the FG's violation of extradition laws, and no court ever aquitted him of his terrorism charges which is why Buhari's govt obtained the stay of execution so he can be properly tried for terrorism.

As for your imaginary sacking of President Tinubu, that is a future impossibility but you're at liberty to hold on to hope especially considering your penchant for grasping on straws.

Has Kanu been released? Lol.

Aquitted by which Supreme Court? Of Biafra? Lol.

In case you didn’t know, Buhari obtained a stay on the execution of that ruling and that’s why Cownu is still in DSS dungeon writing peace letters. The ruling on the appeal will be given on September 14th.

The disrespect was really to ECOWAS and not the personalities of the Sultan or Abdulsalam per se. I don’t blame them because the war threats and ultimatum as a first resort, was unnecessary. The wisdom of the northern intelligentsia led by Emir Sanusi, amidst the crippling sanctions prevailed.
