Family › Would You Go On A Trip With Brothers & Sisters You Do Not Like by r231(op): 3:08pm On Oct 15, 2009
Would you go on a trip with brothers and sisters you do not like- just because they are family?

I suspect that many of us spend alot of time with people we do not like just because they are family. I know there are members of my extended family (Aunts and Uncles and Cousins) that I see and socialize with on an occasional basis that I would prefer that I never see again but am forced by my Mother and Grandma to put on a happy face and grin and bear it. (I see the bad relatives to keep my Grandma happy)

My fiancée  has a distant and cold relationship with her brothers and sisters but has agreed to get together with them for trips just because they are family. She would not give the time of day to any of them if they were not family.

Just because someone is family, is this a good enough reason to spend time with them even if the relationship is terribly distant and strained?

I do understand where the poster is coming from in regards to people selling up and flying to the UK
I know a man who sold his 4X4 bedroom home and flew to the UK. What does he do in the UK - Cleaning. grin grin grin
The man is dey suffer no be small. He even brought in his family. Suffer Suffer come escalate.

I don mind people coming with a reasonable objective maybe to study, get a proffessional job to gain experience or maybe establish some business. Fairplay. but to sell up to come and do jack shit. Total nonsense

Secondly, In the long term, People should plan to go back home and contribute. Empower our/your people back home. A business of £20k in 9ija is enough to yield a good return capable of employing 10 people. Let me do the maths for u

(£20,000 x 1,000,000 uk residents x 250 naira exchg rate) = N5 Trillon Naira - enough to employ 100,000 unemployed nigerians.
I am contributing my own quota to my motherland. What r u doing?
eating ground rice and chicken at mama calabar, paying thru your nose to London electric, paying tax to keep roofs over lazy yobs who don't give a shit about you.

MAKE UNA DEY SIT DON THERE DEY ENJOY WINTER  grin grin grin
Na colonial mentality dey worry una. wake up shocked shocked shocked
its very easy for you to do the maths on paper but what about pple dat really have business in 9ja and employ pple and d pple still screw u over all d time (I am an example) you didn't think of dat did u.

Its not like we are talking about not going home at all. I go home at least 2-3 times a yr but if its not the right time to go and settle down there would I force maself.
Abeg u too wake up

Hypothetical situation/question. Does not relate to me in any way. Just curious on your thoughts because a friend of mine encountered a situation similar to this recently.

A man the age of 39 years old is interested in you. You work hard and are financially stable and have a nice place. The man works but is not as financially stable - lives in a trailer home - lives paycheck to paycheck. But he seems sweet. He would like to go out with you and asks you out on a Tuesday for a Saturday night and adds, "because that's after he gets paid and will have the money to take you out after it clears the bank after a deposit on Friday." The man refuses to allow you to pay for anything - he is not the go dutch type.

- Are you turned off by him after he says this to you?
- Any other thoughts welcomed.

Romance › Ladies Would You Be Ok With Skipping A First Date/meeting Because Of Rain? by r231(op): 7:37pm On Oct 14, 2009
I talked to her last night and explained that since it was expected to rain this evening we should reschedule because NASTY WEATHER is not good for a first meeting. Now if we already knew each other I would go but I like that first meeting to be on a nice day or night?

Anyone agree? I just don't feel like holding umbrella in the pouring rain on a first meet. First Meets should be on nice evenings always. So the girl did not agreed with me and said 2dy or 4get it

Any Ladies/guys agree?
