RedEagle: It took a second read to see the "sarcasm" (in small fonts)
This doesn't read sarcastically in any way.
It is just like saying to someone you don't know "You are mad" and claiming sarcasm.
Sarcasm needs wit, guile and barb... It isn't just about saying something
So your "joke" being misunderstood is more your fault than anybody else's
Better luck next time Sarcasm is "a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter gibe or taunt.i guess we both have different definitions of the word |

asuustrike2009: There is nothing wrong in a man taking of child. There is no law that states that a woman's chore should be wearing her children shoes, clothes e.t.c. It doesn't downgrade a man instead he earns respect. Na people like u go make men turn their wives to house girl or even slave. C'mon this is 21st century and not Ancient days were our fore fathers turn our mothers to slaves. Exact point I was trying to make ooh |

misssclassy: Actually a good thing? Are you for real? How is it a good thing?
Imagine how nairaland would be like if everyone could delete comments on his or her thread. Do you know what would happen if everyone is given such power?
You would have people deleting comments for their own selfish gain. Nairaland would be in a state of chaos, discombobulation and disorganization. Their would be a massive infestation of Trolls who would create topics to cause trouble so they could delete comments.
People would start e-wars on their threads so they could delete opposing comments.
Please Nairaland doesn't need such feature. |

snakebeat: Shaaraaap!!!!!! What do u mean by there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER for a man to beat a woman? This is were woman get it wrong, propagating bias ideologies to suit their selfish interest. What if it was the woman that instigated the fight, by assaulting the man first? Or u think women don't instigate, incite and engage in fights?
Haven't u see women mistreating & beating their children? Even if a woman slaps a man, beat his mum, he shouldn't retaliate because she is a woman? How would u feel if u & ur mother got beaten & chased out by ur brother's wife upon a visit, will u still be saying this statement, or u don't know some women are wild? Why marry an abusive woman?? |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Reason Why Islamic Threads Do Dot Make It To The Front Page On Fridays. by raayah(f): 11:08am On Jun 22, 2015 |
DonXavi: I visited the Islam confined section of NL some time ago and saw a thread where they were criticizing and accusing the moderators of being bias, thus not pushing the Islamic threads to the front-page on Fridays as their worship day, in contrast to the Christians who have the front-page replete with their threads always, every Sunday. Then I thought: how do you expect your threads to be on the front-page when it’s only a selected few that is allowed to contribute to your threads? The front-page I suppose is for the general public and if any thread should make it to the front-page the general public should have access to freely contribute to such thread. But this is not the case with threads opened in the Islamic section where you’re forced to convert to Islam first, before you can contribute in their threads. A section where divergent views and criticisms are not tolerated and any disagreement, scrutiny or opposition to the status quo results to a ban. I actually see what’s happening on NL religion section as a microcosm of the same problem of intolerance, narrow-mindedness and fanaticism plaguing the world today . A world where some set of people will migrate from their land to some western countries and there, protest and demand for equal rights, freedom of worship and so many other freedoms and human rights they never enjoyed in their country of origin, and at the end of the day they’re conceded their demands. But on the other hand, in their home countries stringent laws which carry up to death sentence are enacted to forbid others from worshiping their God freely, they even go to an extent of banning and prohibiting some religion’s holy books from entering their country. What a world! Beautiful post. Makes me tear up! |

sixtuschimere: An unknown sick woman who has been lying along Amichi street in Surulere Lagos for days now have been rescued by the Lagos state Emergency service.
People had earlier thought that the woman was dead.See photos of the woman receiving medical attention in a hospital/before being rescued after the cut.... If it takes days for an "Emergency Service" to respond to an incident. I don't think they are doing a good job. |
