LANDING GIST This has been way overdue but I just have to give it anyway. This journey has been long and it is only favour that brought me here. I shared my PPR STORY here. Booked my ticket with Ethiopian airline for July 31st. It was almost a 24 hour journey. Got to the airport just two hours before but was able to check in very easily. I didn't have any food nor did I have goods to follow. Only had one bag with excess luggage and gladly paid 60USD for it. (I heard Lufthansa is $173.) It wasn't easy leaving friends and family behind but the moment I entered the plane, I was already focused on my new life. First part of the journey was easy, just about 5 hours to Ethiopia. I ate the food as I don't discriminate. I forgot to mention that an elderly woman wanted to do a Soyinka with my window seat but I politely asked her to move. Another woman asked I let her just sit but I told her that I chose the seat for a reason. Used the wifi at Ethiopia to keep the fam updated and to download some youtube videos to watch on the almost 16hour flight to Toronto. It was largely uneventful and long. Kept standing up to walk around and stretched my legs. Watched about four or five movies and ate all the food that came my way. Also met a nice Nigerian couple with their children who were moving to Alberta and we talked for a bit. Landed at Pearson airport according to schedule. The line for immigration was so long and after about one and a half hours, I was finally welcomed to Canada and then did my SIN. My wife picked me up at the airport and not long after, I had eaten both food and something else . Went out the next day to get my SIM, opened a bank account with RBC and got a credit card for $2,000 and I don't pay charges for the next one year. Started driving that day as I needed to acclimatize real quick. Started my ACCES Employment bridging program in Brampton and it has been good so far. I end that next week and really look forward to starting a job real soon. Wifey has been good to me and this is the first Saturday I have actually just sat at home all day. I hope to do my driver's licence soon and get a job. I am just glad for the time I arrived because summer is ending now and "WINTER IS COMING". Hope to keep you guys posted. 87 Likes 5 Shares |

mercy2019: You basically have an opportunity to venture into any career that might fascinate you. Look inwards to your strengths and qualifications and look at jobs that might be in demand where you are settling down. Something might resonate with you. Don't rush into doing any other MSc. Wait a while to see what you really want and if a masters will help you advance better, you might then consider it. It will be easier for you to do survival jobs while you are waiting to decide, get a bit of "Canadian experience" and transit to what you may want in the long run. May the odds be in your favour. 29 Likes |

Rence22: Don't give up yet. Just put things in place for you guys to be in the pool. Do your ECA and ace your IELTS. Pray that God touches his heart and be prepared if he eventually changes his mind, you will be ready to go at the slightest notice. One of my friend's wife did the same. Only told the husband when he was required to do medicals (even though he was an unaccompanying spouse). That was when he decided to go ahead with it. While I definitely don't advise you to do this, be prepared (at least be in the pool) in case he changes his mind 5 Likes |

Thanks to everyone that congratulated me and wished me well. May we all have our own testimonies too. Thanks @DadR. I surely remember the moniker from way back. How are you doing? Like someone used to say here, it will end in praise. 10 Likes |

It's been a long while I have been here. Decided to share my PPR story even though I didn't get it through express entry. May 2017- Wrote IELTS for the first time and passed. (Just expired last week). July 2017 - Got the result of my ECA assessment from WES. July 2017 - Dived into the pool with a total score of 466. August 2 2017 - Got an ITA as lowest CRS was 441. August 9 2017- CRS was 433. After due consultation on this forum, I realised I had wrongly put a certification that I had not assessed with my ECA. I was advised to remove the certification and revert to my 433 scores since it would be sufficient to get an ITA since the last draw on August 9 was 433. August 23 2017- CRS was 434 September 6 2017- CRS was 435 September 14 2017- Celebrated my birthday and lost 6 points. My CRS dropped to 427 September 20 2017 - CRS was 433. The rest as they say is history. CRS never dropped again to levels achieved in 2017. I was sad, cursed my luck and was unhappy. I continued with my masters program in Unilag, hoping to finish by the end of 2018 so that I could get the extra 40 marks for masters. As I type this, while I am done with my course work, I'm yet to defend my project, talk less of results or certificate. January 2019 - I got married to my girlfriend who was a PR. January 2019 - I got a new job. February 27 2019 - Submitted my sponsorship application (Average time of processing is one year) March 2019- I did my biometrics. May 16 2019- I got an e-mail that I was eligible for pre-arrival services. May 16 2019- I got another e-mail to go and do my medicals. I was so excited about this that I was bubbling up and down. People usually do medicals 6 months or more after the application has been submitted. May 16 2019- I got yet another e-mail from Accra Immigration notifying me that my Visa was ready. So is my COPR. I had just gotten the PPR email. I was behind myself with so much joy and I still can't believe it. But God did it. I share this to encourage someone. Be patient, keep at it and God would bring your own testimony for you. I couldn't keep up with the thread from Part 3 because my situation wasn't changing. I am pretty sure that people we started together then are well settled in Canada now. But I am just so glad that God showed up for me this way. It's only him! 122 Likes 8 Shares |

Good afternoon all. I just got an e-mail that there is a test for May 18. I didn't do the test on February 15. Can anyone help with the format of the test and materials for preparing? Also, is it possible to change my date/time for the test? |

It's been such a long while here. Left things off maybe in Part 3 when scores refused to drop and my CRS kept dropping with each passing year. Just finished my masters with Unilag, yet to start project because of ASUU strike. Whenever my results come out, I will assess them and that would boost me. So happy for all the stories of PPR here. God has done something great for you. To think my IELTS from May 2017 will soon expire is crazy. Like Teecann always say, it shall end in praise. By the way, if anyone has information on how Canadian sponsorship works, let me know or point me in the right direction. 22 Likes 2 Shares |

Onedimple: I know how this feels. God will perfect what he started. Who knows whether a draw might be done before then or if they keep increasing the number of people invited, the scores will drop significantly by the next draw. Congratulations to all ITA recipients. 3 Likes |
