Quick one, please if a Toks Toyota Corolla 2003 was serviced with Total 20w50 (first service after purchased) instead of the recommended oil. Can someone start using the recommended oil after?

Thanks @radautoworks.
I'm really grateful.
I have been hoping of getting a replacement of my autel ds808 that got spoilt while helping to check for error codes on someone's car over a year now. I haven't been able to repair it because I've not seen a anyone that can do so.

I guess the mistake I made was.

1. USing the other oil filter that is not master park version.
2. Using the word sub total before the total, which includeds total part and total labour.
3. Not including shop supply and vat in my calculations.

I'm not sure.
And you just got yourself some oil to boot!! VAT is 7.5% and Americans don't include it in listed price. I'm glad you were able to replace the scanner damaged while doing a good deed!

cheesy cheesy

@ThatNiccur come back and explain the dollar conversion grin grin grin since you're the PR of @radautoworks

This one is sold for 2000naira, this are scanners that if you plug in ur car, if na brainbox, it will tell you is plug grin

Is not all about money, is all about selfless service, if you buy one scanner 2000 you sell 25k and you will come here and claim madam charity.
This is your problem. You are so desperate to hide your true self. You found picture of a knock off while mine is an Autel. You also "failed" to notice the minimum order quantity for that price on a KNOCK-OFF is 100 units- which doesn't include shipping or import either. So how much is the real one grin Chai, so envy causes blindness!

You were challenged to give back too since my methods don't meet your approval and are too cheap. We are waiting. Lockdown, I was here. Where were you? Christmas I am here, where are you? In between, I've been here quietly doing my piece. Where have you been? My case is like an iceberg. You only see the tip and it's giving you heart palpitations. Careful not to run into the full thing.

As far as why I don't buy car for drivers, dru23 already answered you. THAT IS NOT MY CORE COMPETENCY. And it seems neither is it yours.

As far as ThatNiccur, if being happy and speaking the truth makes him an ass licker, where are YOUR ass lickers grin

My issue with you is not how you run your "business". It's your condescending attitude to the members the thread is meant for and your constant denigration of said members. I really hope you are not like this in real life. There is no way your personality can be this lousy... Is there?

Anyways, eyin guys your thread don derail for a few pages but Oga had to be put in his place. The guy is not all that to be coming here insulting people upandan. 4 more "N2k" scanners are remaining and next challenge is tomorrow. Back to regularly scheduled programming.

Help
My a/c was not cooling well, I took my car to a/c specialist who told me he needs to change compressor clutch. I asked him to change after which it didn't work, he had to change compressor and condenser, still called me that it wouldn't still be okay till we change evaporator, that he just found out that it's leaking and I sent him money. I went to pick my car on Saturday evening and on my way home the AC stopped working again, and the worst is that the car is overheating.
Please what could be the problem and possible solution.
Thanks
You likely didn't have to change all those parts and just had a leak.

Interesting...

Whenever you close your eyes and open your heart to pray to God, do not forget to ask for the principal thing, which is Wisdom.
Some would pray to have money, forgetting that it takes wisdom to multiply it and when the money finishes they go back to God to ask for more (lack of wisdom)

I am not here to preach, but in a country where the leaders are not making it easy for us, everyone is looking for ways to cut corners, if you find someone who is LOYAL, Honest, you need to appreciate that cus it is not easy.

Just recently, i had a business transaction with a friend, I transferred the cash to him, we got the items, did one or two and we made profit from it. I didnt oversee the transaction as I left everything for him to handle.
Now this is where it gets interesting, when he gave me the breakdown on expenses (not the first, second or third time I have experienced this with him), he inflated almost everything, yet we shared the profit equally despite me putting a larger % of the capital. Well I kept quiet. Keeping quiet doesnt make me a fool or less of a man, I chose to ignore. He isnt honest but I still need him

Why am i saying this :

In Business, everyone cant adopt same model, some decisions will be driven by personal experience while some maybe emotional or sentimental attachment.

JP, whatever business model u have chosen, good for you. Your decisions (maybe) are as a result of making this basically your major source of income and you are trying to protect it, I understand that as well, even the bible says where your treasure is lies your heart. The issue alot of people are having with you is the fact you try to shove your model down our throat and make it look like it's the best decision so far. Your fire brigade method might indirectly be taking away something from you, you may not notice it now but in future it prolly would get clearer.

Kudos to everyone contributing positively, you guys are doing well.

In response to jpworld's comment about the giveaway, you still don't get it.
First, you're wrong about the scanners. Second, even if the scanners cost N500 it's not about the money. It's about what helps people. I could have given out cash but how would that help people or my mission? Cash would be gone quick but the scanner lasts as long as the car and helps many.

Mr JP do some self reflection and realise EVERYTHING ISN'T ABOUT MONEY and I guarantee you will have a better quality of life.

EDIT: 17. 17 scanners grin

The gbo gbas is never ending.

I think maybe jp has been duped severally by being too kind and he decided to change it for any intending employee..(to show them say "my hand no dey soft oh, if u get craze, I get double craze"
Then show craze to the ones wey dupe you not person wey no dey therehuh Na only him get bad experience for this world? What about drivers wey almost pay finish and owners use loophole keep the car? They should show the next owner craze? When when will it end?

Like dru said when they see how well the next one has it they are the ones that will be begging and pleading to come back. Everyone that has ever left my company is wanting to come back (not that there are many lol).

At the end of the day if na 1 million per week sef you wan charge, go ahead. But stop talking down on people and telling all the other owners they should be charging one million because it is "smart business".

I have read all your posts on this thread and today I'm going to address them.

This is why "Nigerian workers are bad". Bosses/owners make them so.

You obviously don't understand it costs more to find and retrain a new employee than it does to retain an old one. Same as customers. You obviously also don't understand what it takes to build LOYALTY and employee buy-in/ownership in your mission.

The companies that started fresh are struggling with new employees. Not to put my business out there but I made sure not to let ANYONE go during lockdown (even the ones I was thinking of firing before). I informed them because there was no income I could only afford to pay 40% and they were okay with that. How? FROM PROFITS WHEN THE GOING WAS GOOD. I prioritized their safety and opened later than other businesses. It was the that employees who insisted they would take the risk and go to work until they couldn't. THEY came up with a plan where they took turns running a skeleton crew. Why? I was thinking of them and in turn they thought of me. They understand we are a TEAM through the good and the bad.

During lockdown they did everything they could to stay open or continue doing business wisely. Guess what? EVERY MONTH SINCE SEPTEMBER THEY HAVE BROKEN THE PREVIOUS SALES RECORD and IN MY ABSENCE! They are currently posting numbers almost DOUBLE what they posted before all the katakata started. Their productivity is through the ROOF and my complaints/mistakes are the lowest they've ever been, even with the ones I was considering firing. I have been contacted by other frustrated businesses owners asking what I did to make my employees so loyal as they tried to poach them repeatedly and they won't budge. I just tell them I treat them like like to be treated. Even one of the so called "bad NL Uber drivers" now works for me and can testify to this if he chooses to reveal himself.

So please stop coming to this thread to insult and demoralize people trying to make a living. Create an Uber owner partner thread where you can criticize, insult and advice all you want and no one will bother you but savvy business man you are not in my opinion.

That's all the energy I have for your matter.
And in case you think I'm lying

I just want to clarify few things......

When in business you have to find your COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE ..... At the time people were using Toyota cars Corolla and " Big daddy " etc .. .. The cost of those cars tokunbo and even naija used went up.. It didnt make sense for me to buy Corolla or camry, plus I didn't like those cars at all .. They were like sachet of pure water litter on Lagos road.. It was an eye sore .....

...

I have been saying this time to time .. Don't put all of your eggs in 1 basket .. Transportation business should be a section of your business.. It is equally as good as it is challenging .. You need to diversify your business to avoid headaches... I wouldn't want to have more than 5 cars on ehailing.. At times it is very tempting to do so ,but for now 5 is my max..
THIS is how sometime who really understands business thinks. Droppin' some learnin' on 'em!
