Godlylifeoneart: If the proposed acquisition /merger of access + diamond scale through, then there will be an imminent dilution of access bank shares regardless of book value. IMO , there is something intrigue the public are not yet aware about this deal. If in the affirmative, the share price of access will nosedive TO N6. +-2.5 in the coming days. Wigwe will not use his personal fortune for the acquisition the shareholders of access bank are meant to pay for it. No wonder, despite the significant PAT in 2016 to 17, the access mgx has not paid a reasonable dividends. This is what Wigwe has been eyeing. Better to sell 50% of holdings in access and buy diamond before a technical suspension is placed on the share. Otherwise... The dumpling effect will tell on access by February 2019 plus the imminent bonanza foretold by chibuking aka bonanza crew Dz is strictly my opinion... Not an advised to buy or sell... I hold 15000 units of access Not an
The NSE doesn't always behave as one would expect. Normally the price of an acquiring entity in a merger should fall for several reasons including the dilution you mentioned. But today Access gained maximally. Holders of DB shares actually made a double gain today. 2 Likes |

In my humble opinion, there is every possibility of a deadlock.
The shareholders will go for a higher price.
Access may not want to pay the higher price given that they have already offered ~30% of book value and Access itself is trading at ~50% book value.
this deal has a 50% chance of going through. IF it doesn't go through, I expect Diamond to drop down to 80K.
We will see. It's a matter of bargaining. If Access really wants the bank they may have offered a price they know will be rejected, and they will have to increase over. Meanwhile bids are heading to 300m. |

austinkenneth: The diamond deal will not fly at N3.13 because it is at huge discount to the net asset value of the company.
The shareholders know more better than that and will not approve the deal..Carlyle owns more than 17% which they purchased at about N9.00
Without their approval, the deal will be dead on arrival.
The legal battle involved will take at least a year.
Good news for some SANs. Meaning the market MAY push it to at least N3 b4 the shareholders vote. |

Lower than 1.3? Lol. More like 1.725% + 4 naira to buy. 2.025% + 4 naira to sell. You are not only paying for commission though. They all have the same rates, you are not buying those stocks from Morgan or Merristem or Stanbic or United capital etc, you are buying it directly from NSE through their platform, which I suspect the charges are regulated. I don't think the rates differ or else people will be using the cheapest broker and not touch the rest, 0.1% sometimes can become a lot of money for some people. The high charges make high frequency trading unprofitable. The highest charge is the broker commission charge which is supposed to be variable but set not to exceed 1.35%. The other charges such as for NSE are fixed and common to all brokers. The only way one can save is to find a broker whose commission charges are significantly lower than 1.35% before negotiation. That's what I am looking for. |

You waited 100 days for Buhari, you can still wait till next month for NSE to restore their service.. Nothing had to wait for Buhari. There was an Acting President with full powers, and he ran the country well. You are disrespecting the VP with this kind of talk. 1 Like |
