It is clear that this country is now being led by people who do not believe in it. Why do you make NYSC posting as regards to insecurity a matter of policy, and formally state that only students from insecure areas should be posted there? Shouldn't such issues be left to the discretion of the Service? Even at the peak of insurgency in Borno and Yobe states NYSC members were formally posted there, but they were instead sent to serve in other states. When will our leaders understand that insecurity at the level we have it now has to be fought nationally and not be regarded as the headache of those states that are suffering from it. Which states are really free of it now?

megawealth01:
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a major overhaul of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployment system, announcing that corps members will now be posted to states based on security risk assessments rather than the existing nationwide allocation model.

Under the new policy, prospective corps members will no longer be deployed indiscriminately to states facing serious security threats. Instead, postings to such areas will prioritise indigenes, residents, graduates of institutions within those states, and those from neighbouring states in the same geopolitical zone, following detailed security evaluations.

The President said the decision forms part of a broader reform agenda aimed at protecting corps members while preserving the NYSC's objective of fostering national unity. He noted that security realities across the country require a more practical and flexible deployment system.

Tinubu also approved other far-reaching reforms, including extending the NYSC orientation camp from three weeks to six weeks, replacing the military Director-General with a civilian DG, and introducing expanded training in entrepreneurship, leadership, civic responsibility, and job creation.

He directed the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and the Ministry of Justice to begin amending the NYSC Act to provide the legal framework needed to implement the reforms.

According to the President, the changes are intended to modernise the scheme, enhance the safety of corps members, and better prepare young graduates for life after national service.

Those people who used to bring FIRSTHOLDCO sharply down at close of trading through large volume cross trades strucked again today. It is a typical accumulation style that will be followed by a massive move upwards when the time comes.

The drop in Dangcem and Buacem maybe due to a complaint by gov on the rise in the price of cement in recent months. The gov said that they are meeting the manufacturers. The price of cement has gone up 30% since January, and is still going up, causing serious cost issues for builders and contractors of gov projects. I hope the gov backs it's complaint with threats of allowing imports.

Aradel acting as a nice shelter against the NGX carnage. It is good as they have not removed the 100k trade requirement. Those selling at 1,575 must really need the money. Why sell at 10% down when the price will not move? Clarify the big guys who can move the price have decided to hold for now.

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 8:15pm On Jun 21
If you are using charts like the one on Investing.com the closing price is not N55. That is because they don't catch prices of trades done after 15:55 hours immediately. You need to check sites like TRW-stockbrokers.com that report actual NGX price list. If you also check Morgan's eTrade you would have seen details of actual individual trades which clearly shows the cross trades at N55 done late and recorded as executed at 1600 hrs. The closing price on NGX is determined only by the NGX rule of the last single trade of 100k volume.

ositadima1:
I don't think you read that very well. It only traded ₦578 million on Friday, and it actually averages more than twice that amount. The day before, it traded over ₦7 billion.

I don't think it closed at ₦55 because a cross deal wanted to push the price down that Friday. I think it was more likely due to a few secondary reasons:

1. There were not enough buyers that Friday.
2. Sellers were more aggressive and willing to accept lower prices.
3. Just general bad market. undecided

But I'm not saying it won't recover.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 12:09pm On Jun 21
It will go back up to 60 tomorrow. That 55 was a cross made at close of trading. They had to clear all bids above them on the table before they can execute the trade. That is why some lucky people got to buy at 55 also.

Sad story for Nigerians. So Nigeria now refines petrol, export it to Togo and then reimport it so that importers can continue business as usual. In the process Lagos loses business to Lome Nigerians pay more for petrol and we create jobs for the Togolese and unemployment for Nigerians.

Please is Oando the only company required to have their FS vetted by the FRC? Or are they just doing it to give some sense of regulatory approval to the results? Two weeks is certainly not enough time to vet the results of such a large company as Oando, especially going by the time the CBN takes to vet banks' results.

There's no perfect approach. It's just a matter of being prepared and able to take opportunities when they appear. It is the massive rally in the last 2 years that on hind sight shows an advantage for buy and hold. During this same period many traders did well too.

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 9:35pm On May 06
He is probably just thinking aloud at this stage. You cannot just produce 20k megawatts without transmitting and distributing it. There is currently no capacity for that. So he may also have to build a grid and local distribution. If he plans to use the existing networks he will have the same fight he had with the oil and gas cabals and the unions. The power sector unions are just as powerful as the O&G ones.
