Madam dangota products cannot be in existence and we don't see it on the street. HE has good logistics for his businesses Your first link was 2018 and anything can happen to business within then to now.You remember dangota flour was dead and sold off too.
The second link did not say dangota produced the rice that was distributed as charity. He could repackag the rice in his name.it is a normal thing.
I don't see sugar going below #30 .It was simply, alhaji wanted to use rice to accumulate sugar to himself which I had started in the past.

The big lesson, it looks sec is beginning to wake up to its responsibility.Onado delisting will not scale through sec at ridiculous price. There is hope now for oando shareholders

You are right that SEC is rediscovering its teeth. This increases the possibility that we may wake up one day and hear that Oando's trading is suspended just like the JSE did. That will throw lots of people into despair.

Where did you get him saying he insists on delisting. He never said such at the last AGM in Nov 2022. Rather he bragged of how he has turned the company around for shareholders. And how things are poised for good.

Body language. Read all their company announcements on the court case. They always refer to their "Scheme of Arrangement.." what does that say?

The shareholders that applied to be joined in the suit are minority shareholders that are opposed to the delisting. Their action should serve as evidence to the court that those who were seeking for delisting of Oando do not have the mandate of all minority shareholders, and do not represent the interests of all the minority shareholders.

The loopholes/hurdles in the bid to delist Oando shares are quite obvious.
1. There are no records of any mandate by minority shareholders or minutes at AGM authorizing the delisting
2. You cannot ask for a delisting price of N7.07 when the shares are already selling at N10-N12 in the market
3. The SEC just recently rejected a similar move by another company (cannot recollect the name now), thereby paving the way as precedent to reject Oando as well.

Can't understand why WT still insists on delisting OANDO. After all the recent demonstration of opportunities for wealth growth offered by the market to individual billionaires. One would also think that he will want to help his uncle who is struggling to rebuild the economy by attracting investment anyway he can; even going out to ring the closing bell at the NYSE. WY definitely cannot help by delisting one of the largest indigenous oil companies in Nigeria at this time.

All he has to do is to play by the rules just like Dangote, Tony, Rabiu and others are doing. Dangote is now probably the one person that can single handedly determine the direction of the Nigerian economy. He got here through the stock market and demonstrating ability to run honest businesses. Through this he is able to raise $20b and build one of the largest oil refineries in the world. Today if he is to start another project worth $50b he will be able to raise the money. Imagine where Oando will be today it was run like the Dangote group.

Lol, you and this your transcorp. I know how much I have made from vitafoam(price appreciation) and wapco(dividend and price appreciation) since you started calling transcorp. Hope you are really making money from this NSE or is just averaging down and down

Me I try to stick to certain sectors/stocks and master them. I try to avoid bothering about gains in other sectors/stocks. I look at the market like the local town market. The one selling provisions doesn't care what the one selling grains is doing. I hope this will work out for me in the long run.

Investment One have similar through their finance house, that is Orange One Finance.

Interest rate is 24%, processing and management fees is 2%.

So FSDH at a total of 22% is better, the rates can be negotiated based on the size of your loan.

United Capital is about 16%, but they only accept their Fixed income Fund, Eurobond Fund and Money Market Funds as collateral, shares are not acceptable

Thanks for this additional info. It really takes money to make money.

What we really need is for Flourmills to say exactly how much they are planning to pay per share of Honeywell after considering all factors including Honeywell debt. I don't know why that kind of transparency is so difficult to get at the NGX. Of course they can't come out and say "Oh. We have been stupid. We forgot that there are legal issues here".

Banks prefer bonds to shares.

If have dealing with Stockbroking firms that are subsidiaries of banks or Investment banking firms you can get "Asset Backed loans".

I have one running with FSDH Capital at 22% per annum. I am running for 6 months at a prorated rate of 11%, although the normal thing is for 12 months.

Payments of interest MUST be paid every quarter

Payment of principal can be paid every quarter depending on your cash flow. Debt must be liquidated at maturity or you can rollover.

So N1 million loan at 22%. You will pay an interest of 55k at the end of the quarter, you can decide to reduce the principal by 200k.

Meaning your new principal is now 800k and the interest to be paid at the end of the quarter will be 44k plus the outstanding principal

With this your total interest on N1 million for 6 months will be 99k

Thanks. I will see if GTB will do similar with Investment One.

Liquidity is important.

Acceptability of the shares to financial institutions and lenders is also important, especially for those who use their shares as collateral to get loans and credit facilities

You mean there are still financial institutions that accept shares as collateral?

No matter how the market batters stocks. These stocks I listed below are high dividend yield stocks at NSE for now. They are good at the current market prices.

Zenith 12.27% dividend yield at the current price.
Gtb 11.81%
Npf 11.43%
Stanbic 10.82%
Cap 10.77%
Mansard 9.87%
Lasaco 9.43%
Access 9.29%
Dangote sugar 9.11%

More batter means more dividend yields.

Let's cherry pick from these list.

What of UCAP?

I wonder how anyone will think FMN is not aware of the indebtedness to Ecobank in the first place.

A company willing to buy 76.75% of Honeywell at a huge premium, paying a whooping N80B, how can N5.5B be an issue to them??
Who is Ecobank to dictate what FMN should or should not do to them?

These guys are just trying to trend and create issues where there's none.

Guess Ecobank is trying to create awareness to FMN and looking for a way to benefit here as well.

FMN has signed the deal, Ecobank's noise can't get to them. .......Otudeko on the other hand is smarter. tongue

They didn't pay the N80B. The amount to be paid in the end will depend on the debts. This is where I smell some deceit. Why mention the N80B when it is not the final price?

I agree with you. I think eco bank is just being wise by letting FMN know that it has a 5.5billion loan pending. After all the payment of 80billion by FMN for honey well is subject to deduction of all the debt owed by honeywell. At the end i wonder what would be left.

I think yMcy56 is right, I remembered when I entered AP then @20+ and later sold @220....I will always follow him,Dangote and uncle T.

AP also dropped to N10 despite his manipulation and destroyed many investors. Only good thing now is that FBNH, unlike AP then, is under a strong regulator. So he can't sustain any price manipulation with earnings.

Pray no pull back O wink

Waiting patiently for the 9 months results to be released in about 2 weeks plus the management conference call that will follow. Hope the analysts that attend the call will ask better questions and management will not dodge about. Their dividend needs to jump to not less than N1.00 for it not to fall below N10 rapidly. At least they should be able to afford N1.00 dividend. Doing less will cause serious pull back.

Whoever is buying at these crazy higher and higher prices is not worried about pull backs. Just hope our small retail investor friends do not get caught up in the aftermath.

Oga, no dey talk dis kain talk. Dis month alone, Nigerian businesses owned by Nigerians don bring new investors on board and you sef no know. You dey see person wey buy 400m units at once worth billions you still dey write turenchi. Pesin wey buy 400m units of one company come play for your eyes?

Oga, follow the money make you no be like me wey miss DF because of this your kain oversabi.
Whoever dey mop HW no dey NSEMPA level o and the pesin don see wetin me and you no see. You dey see 7k dey complain when ordinary 1k sef, DF no pay for dividend and still cash out for N24!

Person wey move money into Eterna, HW, Capital Hotel, DF, M&B etc no be NSEMPA mate o. In this life, levels dey o, dem no be
NSEMPA mate o.

I salute you and respect your opinion. I too missed DF badly. But that is the nature of the market. There are bulls and bears on every stock and given situation. Some of us are over cautious, but it doesn't mean we should not express that caution. It is up to every member to digest all views and make up their mind. It is always easy to see things in hind site, especially where we missed opportunities. People hardly remember where caution saved them money. We just hope and pray that the sum of all our actions amount to success.

It was the sale rumour that catapulted the share price of HW and not necessarily it's present state, capacity or ability to pay higher dividend overnight.

So we should expect a reversal now?

Btw I missed the details of that sale rumor. I never believed it. Nigerian companies with such high profile owners are usually highly leveraged. Whoever wants to buy will have a nightmare when doing due diligence. That is if the owners will ever want to sell.

I really hope we don't turn this thread into a forum for political debate, as I am seeing from a few recent posts. This is what destroyed the previous thread. Personally I am here to exchange knowledge and gather information that will help me reach my objective of possibly making some money in the NGX. I go somewhere else for politics, and I urge others to so.
