Pls who has d current bid size of sky @ 0.66

Funny enough, millions of units are changing hands @0.6 and these are the last significant trades on the floor so far. Every other trade @0.66 has been less than 50,000 units. Except someone sells minimum of 50,000 units to the current bidders @0.66, there is a high risk that the market will close @0.6.

On the other hand, the guys who are trading @0.6 behind the scenes may be the big winners if it closes today @0.66 ie Instant 10%. These are the men in black!!! cool cool cool

Very likely it will drop tomorrow. Whatever happens will not affect me since I JO today.

No, PMB is wrong...Mordern economics requires innovative and creative thinking and not medieval approach...The initial measure- capital control used by the CBN was only for a short term as continuity of such policy would have thrown the economy into perpetual wilderness and place untold hardship on the people...In fact, it would have been more terrible than what we are currently experiencing as a country...

Devaluation can either make or mar an economy depending on how it's managed...With the crude oil prices reaching historical lowest levels and full recovery not in sight there is no way our country will survive and continue to grow - no thanks to the Dutch disease that our economy has suffered over the years.

One of the key benefits of devaluation is economic stabilization it will restore which we are in dire need of currently...What I think government should do so that it doesn't become disastrous is to continue to work at diversifying the economy, provide socio-economic infrastructures including power, pursue regressive tax system, ease cost of doing business, and strengthen agric and agro allied sector of the economy.

You can do the bolded part of your post without devaluation. And finally PMB took the advice of the modern economists (or rather currency speculators). Let's see what it does to the exchange rate. I know one of the excuses is to sy we'll "he did it too late".

Bros,

Thats the irony that keeps deceiving us, we have devalued our currency and still we cant find the foreign inflows... from 199 to 250 to 280 to 283 now 293 to dollar as at friday.

if really we are an investment haven as claimed, FDI suppose done flood our economy since.

Just saying..

That is why I believe PMB was right. We should never have devalued. We will never see the end of it. They will soon start asking for further devaluation until we become another Zimbabwe.

Hello house,
Please does any one have more information on what is going on at Transcorp Plc. The stock is consistently going south. Transcorp doesn't seem to have a bad outlook considering it fundamentals. Or is it just sheer sentiment that is not in its favour. Any info would be appreciated.

Just the usual JIJO cycle... grin

Kai! See as FO is likely to gain another 20% this week. I had chance to buy at N190 and I only bought some tasere units. You just can't win in this market. Even when you see opportunity at the right time fear no de allow you capitalise on it.

Its 5million to open the account.

I guess if one has more than N5m to trade with it is safer for one to use the likes of Stanbic. They are less likely to go under with your money.

Looks very similar to Morgan. Question now is what are the transaction charges, and if there is a minimum amount for opening an account.

http://www.cnbc.com/2016/04/25/saudi-arabias-government-officially-unveils-long-term-economic-plan.html?__source=newsletter|breakingnews

Saudi Arabia's government unveiled a long-term economic blueprint on Monday for life in a low-oil price world.
Titled "Saudi Vision 2030," the plan includes regulatory, budget and policy changes that will be implemented over the next 15 years in the hope of making the kingdom less reliant on crude. It aims to build a "prosperous and sustainable economic future" for the kingdom, according to the press release.

The plan said the country will raise its share of non-oil exports in non-oil GDP from 16 percent to 50 percent.
The planned economic diversification involved localizing renewable energy and industrial equipment sectors and creating high-quality tourism attractions. It also plans to make it easier to apply for visas and hoped to create 90,000 job opportunities in its mining sector.

Most oil producing nations has moved on While some are still praying for oil to rise. What an irony.

I understand that PMB already has committee working on this.

Good morning house. Please I've got a little issue with Morgan Capital: needed a hundred thousand naira to attend to some engagements so I sent them an email to withdraw the said amount from my MC account.
They sent an email later saying the transfer had been done and my MC account was debited immediately but it's been a week now and I've not seen the money (had to get from a friend), sent them four mails about the 'transfer' that didn't happen but nobody is replying; all their lines are unreachable as well.
This is not exactly what a customer wants to go through when hard-earned money is involved.

Kind of worrying to see more and more complaints about Morgan services recently. I hope they are taking note and addressing the issues. It is at times difficult to cope with success and you could start declining.

Me I will avoid Conoil. I got stuck there for a long time. Also avoid jumping into a stock that is going down. Wait till it shows signs of rebounding.

Crude Oil now $45.58... grin

http://www.bloomberg.com/energy

May be Obama's trip to Saudi Arabia has something to do with it. He may be there to convince the Saudis to drop there demand for Iran to join the oil production freeze. The US also needs the price to rise to help their shell producers. Just my hunch.
