Fourwinds:why cant the people of Abia learn from Niger state? The average northerner is ready to die to protect their votes but our Igbo brothers don't do anything and many of them didn't even come out to vote. The turn out for Abia state election was about 30%. Until Abians start protecting their votes and voting in mass, they should stop complaining. Ochendo is not greater than over 2 million Abians |
Otondo |
I love this man political wit. He is the maradona of Abia politics . congrats senator Ochendo |
proudlyhandsome:he is saying the truth. I also served in Ngwo Enugu and I have similar experience. Enugu and Ebonyi state have water problem. |
biteck:why does he keep winning election if he is unpopular? Most of you people don't even come out to vote but are always complaining on nairaland and social media. |
qualityovenbake:do you think the right for British premirship is free. They paid over 100 million dollars to BPL for exclusive right and they are trying to make back the money they spend from the TV right. Every business should have the right to fix the price of their services. Its not a right but a privilege to have dstv service. DSTV is not NTA and they are in business to make money and profit. They have not break any Nigeria law by increasing the price of their services. If anyone cant afford their service then he should unsubscribe from dstv. |
Ibime:you are ignorant. Which politician don't steal or oppress. Ochendo is popular that is why he keep winning election in Abia state. |
The problem with Enugu and Ebonyi state is that they don't have good water supply. |
qualityovenbake:are they forcing Nigerians to subscribe to their service. Its a free market and they have the right to charge any amount they want. |
francizy:he is trying to protect his investments because he knows with out government support his business will fail. People like him and Dangote have monopoly in Nigeria business community |
ShowYourCertificate:please don't pray for failure because if Buhari fails as a president. Its ordinary Nigerians like me and you that will suffer it. We should all support Buhari and hope for the best. If he doesn't perform like GEJ he will be voted out too |
omenka:if he is so much hatred. Why do you people keep voting him into office? weather you hate or love him. Ochendo is a good politician because he keeps winning election. PDP won all the senate and rep seats and are leading in the governorship election. |
Ochendo!!!! The maradona of Abia state politics . I love this man for his political wit. |
InvertedHammer:According to the AP news report, The Federal government has refused to extradict him back to US. Its not the responsibilty of the US government to go to Nigeria court and ask for his extradition. Its the responsibility of the federal government to honor the US indictment and extradition request. Stop supporting corrupt politicians. The US government is not witch hurting anybody. The right thing for him to do is to go clear his name since he said its a mistaken identity. The federal government should be fair because if it was ordinary citizens like me and you, we would have be extradited to the US. Anyway, thank God Buhari is taking over so its no longer business as usual for people politicians like Senator Buruji and Senator Joshua Dariye who have intelpol warrant out on them |
InvertedHammer:he should go and clear his name if he is not not the one indicted. He has an Intepol warrant out for his arrest. as long as the law is concern, he is a wanted fugutive. If he is innocent why is he still running from the US government |
condralbede:Tinubu dont have any drug case on him. most people confused tinubu with buruji Kashamu because obj said a leader in SW has a drug case in the US. OBJ was referring to buruji and not tinubu. Tinubu travel to the us regularly if tinubu was a drug baron he would have been arrested, convicted and deported from the US |
Ralphlauren:I agree with you. There are millions of free nollywood movie on YouTube. I wonder why anyone will want to pay subscription to watch Nigeria movies when you can get it free on YouTube |
None |
tit:can you post a link to support your claim that Tinubu is a convicted drug dealer |
Only in Nigeria can a criminal become an elected government official |
ozoigbondu:Is it Ameachi responsibility to provide Electricity for the state? The last time I checked NEPA is control by the federal government. |
Ok |
IGBOSON1:Its because Nollywood supported GEJ. Anyway I think celebrities should stay off politics |
Really sad. Africa needs to develop our different countries. Running to Europe is not the solution to Africa problem. We need good leadership |
Can a dead man rise again. PDP might even perform worse in 2019 because no more free federal government money and police protection to rig election. APC will be the major party for at least 12 yrs |
jaybee3:I think GMB should consider him for EFCC boss. Ever since he left EFCC died. He did a really nice job in EFCC. If Buhari give him the free hand to work as EFCC boss , I believe corruption will reduce because he will put many people in jail. He is the only one qualify for that job because of his police experience. |
asha80:you are right. The gap is just too much even if election is held there wont be more than 50% turn out of register voters which is less than 80,000 votes gap. Otti only hope is to go to the tribunal and get the election cancel. |
Imo is going to be APC while Abia and Taraba will end PDP. |
After long hours of suspense, the Abia State INEC collation and returning officer, Prof. Benjamin Ugwumba, yesterday declared the governorship elections in the state inconclusive.Prof. Ugwumba, who praised the election exercise as a testimony of the resilience of Nigeria’s electoral process hinged his decision on the high number of cancelled votes, which doubled the difference between the votes polled by the candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and his closest rival from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). According to Prof. Ugwumba, this result failed to meet the electoral regulations, since Dr. Ikpeazu polled 248, 459 votes against Dr. Otti’s 165,406 votes, which represented a margin of 83,053 votes. “From the figure, it was apparent that the margin of the votes was lower than 179,224, the number of registered voters, where election did not hold or cancelled. There was therefore no winner,” the collation officer said. Also in the election contested by 11 candidates and characterised by pockets of protests caused by the earlier cancellation of elections in three local councils and its subsequently reversal, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Ayim Nyerere polled 10,065 votes to trail behind Ikpeazu and Otti. The APGA candidate also won in nine out of the I7 local councils against eight local councils won by Ikpeazu, the PDP candidate. Total number of votes cast was 43,0454 of which 8,893 was rejected leaving 43,0461 as total valid votes. Before the declaration of the election results, there was tension in the state following the outcome of the elections, which process and conduct had generated a lot of concern for residents. There was however heavy security presence in and around Umuahia, the state capital in anticipation of any breakdown of laws and order. Total number of registered voters in the state was 1217632, while the total number of accredited voters was 470900 representing 38,67 percent of voters turn out. http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/04/inec-declares-taraba-abia-gov-polls-inconclusive/ |
