Ekaladerhan does not exist, unperfected story telling. The story started in 1975 when the Ogiame began a court case of challenging the Oba over their kingdom and land, they quickly came up with that nollywood story titled "Ekaladerhan " to defend their court case. Meanwhile, they forgot Oranmiyan is a grandchild or last son of Oduduwa, who had elder brothers, the like Owa Obokun of Ijesha, Alake of Egba, Olupopo of Popo (Benin Republic), Onisabe of Sabe (Benin Republic), Oba Ajashe of Port Novo (Benin Republic), Alaafin of Oyo, Orangun of Ila and many more. All of them said their father Oduduwa is not Ekaladerhan, Oranmiyan is just a grandchild that cannot tell the story of their father, Oduduwa Olofin Adimula. Obatala, Oduduwa and some others were siblings from Otu-Ife. They never migrated or came from anywhere, that's where they believe their ancestor was created by God (Orunmila about 1000BC). macof: 1 Like |

1. Ogiso never existed in BC, but in 10,000AD - Many historians and explorers wrote, even Benin historian Eghareva said in his book 2. Benin never built long wall but surrounded by a large moat mud not up to 100 km.- No archeological or anthropological to prove it, but sketch picture and lies that follows it. 3. Benin Empire fell in the early 1800, and already lost its influence before British came to finish everything. 4. Oba Benin didn't wage war with British, he didn't sign agreement, but the British came back to the palace with their Saro soldiers from Lagos to finish the remain of Benin Kingdom. 5. Oyo Empire is 2x of Benin Empire when they both thrived as empires, Benin was not the most influenced. 6. Oba of Benin is a prince of Ife, the cradle of the Iran'fe people, also known as Yoruba people - Oba of Benin is an Iran'fe known as Yoruba today. 7. Edo People are 4 types of People, they were taken to the new land from Ife, under the Ogiame/Ogiso suprachiefdom of Igodo. 8. Edo people were not satisfied with the leadership of Ogiso/Ogiame, their chiefs came back to Ife to seek for the kind of leadership like the system in Ife and other Kingdoms, which produced them the Oranmiyan, with his warriors that destroyed Ogiso/Ogiame suprachiefdom and established Oba dynasty. But despite that, they were never satisfied and causing anger and havoc in the land, which led the place named "Ile-Ibini", meaning the "Land of Anger". 9. Oranmiyan short stay in Ibini, established the new system of leadership, also instructed the warriors turned chiefs that came with him from Ife to stay with the child he bore and install him as the Oba of Ile Ibini, which coined the title of the Oba as "Omo N'Oba n'Edo", ("Oba of Benin" is not a title) "Omo Ni Oba Ni Edo" is a Yoruba word, NOT Edo language. The first word that came out of Oba Eweka was Yoruba words "Owo Mi Ka" (my hand has touched it), which the chief chose as title during the Oba Eweka coronation "Owo Eweka". 9. Oba of Benin refer the "Ooni of Ife" as "Oghenne Uhe". 10. Internation schools and studies have considered the Benin history as mostly lies and irrelevant. Especially, when no evidence to back up their historical claims. 11. Benin did not start using gun in 1400, the gun that the Portuguese sold to Oba Benin in exchange of over 2000 slaves were 65 musket guns in 1740, which was invented in 1665. 12. Oba Benin sold slaves that the Portuguese used in their sugar-cain farm, at the place today called Sao Tome and Principe. They later stopped selling male slave for warfront purpose, and Oba started selling their mothers, sisters from age 7 to 35 to Europeans and which they'd used to force having sex with another male in other to give birth to another slave just like dogs. 13. Many of Iran'fe (Yoruba) language names in Benin have been lost by the Edo people adding "C", "V", "Z" to them, and sometimes called it as its not spelt. Examples are the: "Ewuare" (Ewu are), which means "Victory", they call it "Ewaye"; "Orogbuwa" which means "Wealth bore Character' in Yoruba, changed to "Orhogbua". If you ask Benin person to say the meaning of those words, they don't know, or they would say "god has done something"... First of all Edo is a people not a land. You are confusing with Edo state which is a land named after the name of the people who live in it. |

"EKO" means "Farm" in Awori dialect. Regular/General Yoruba dialect call it "OKO". Just like "Eba-Odan", general Yoruba call it "Ibadan", so Eko, Oko, Iko, r'Eko, Egbe, all these they are Yoruba language with different subgroups of dialect, referring to "Farm". Lagos Island was not the main "Eko", its the "Iddo" that all the harvests from the farms used to gather to sell, as getting to "Iddo" then, the left and right of Iddo were farms, so people coming Oyo, Ijebu, Egba and many other places before the Dutch arrival used to call it what the Awori call it as 'r'Eko", which means going to farm. The downward part to the other farm of pepper and woods is referred to as "Isale Eko", meaning the downward side of the Farm. But people that keep asking, what is the meaning of Edo, Ado, Esan, Benin or Onitsha, Anambra, Owerri, Warri? jades5050:The Esan people in Benin refer themselves as Yoruba, not Edoid, they were carved into Bendel State from Ondo by the Federal government in the 70s. The Esan people are from Ile-Ife, so their language should be Yoruba, and would probably speak close dialect with Ondo, Ijesha and Ilaje. So tell me what is Farm called in Benin? |

Oba of Lagos does not have territory in Lagos Island, its only Idu-Iganran land gifted to him as base, that plots of lands his highest territory. The Oluwa of Lagos (Lord of Lagos) an Awori is actually an Over-Lord in Lagos over the Oba Eleko. Oluwa Amodu Tijani was even more respected by the King of England, King George V, the father of Queen Elizabeth. He was even the closest friend of Herbert Macaulay, the prime minister of Nigeria, who the Awolowo, Zik and Saudana were looking up to, that they could not do anything without his approval. Even the land, from UAC and Church of Christ at Isale Eko, thats where the territory of Oniru started from, later they moved their palace to that of Mekunwe, where ferries and traders were paying to cross to and fro, 5 cowries as toll, I'm talking about Five Cowries Creek Ferry Park in Victoria Island today. Then later the British chased them again, where they finally moved the palace to Makoko village, called Iru Estate today. Sammy07: 1 Like

Oba Eleko of Isale Eko is between the BINI and the IJESHA! But firstly, we must ask who own Lagos or probably who owns the land of Lagos. We must also differentiate between Eko, Isale Eko, Lagos Island, Lagos and Lagos State. Sometimes in the early-mid 1400s, an Ile-Ife Prince Olofin Ogunfunminire and his family left the Ife palace, with an instruction of Ifa (Deity Oracle) to place a place a "Plate of Sacrifice" (Awo Ipese Ebo) on the water and sail behind it to where it goes, and wherever it sinks, they should make their settlement and expand. After the long journey following the plate, the plate finally sank at Isheri (the water at Berger-Ogun Kara Bridge), then the name "Awori" came into being: "Awo" (the Plate), "Ri" (Sank). After sometimes, the other wife of Olofin who did not conceive of a child, then because of it, Olofin consulted Ifa, and he was instructed to move further to the bank of big and salty water, there he should stay and his wife would be able to born a child. He then moved further, and got to the place called "Iddo" (m. Settlement) (near the today's Marina water), there his wife was able to give birth to children. One of his sons who was able to swim across the lagoon, down to the down Island, named Aromire (the friend of water), was made the owner of the territory by their father Ogunfunminire, while the extension of the territories shared to siblings Moba (a daughter married to Ikoyi Eso), Iru (Victoria Island today) and Eleguish (Lekki). Therefore, before the death of Olofin Ogunfunminire, he had shared all the territories to his children, including his children-in-laws. Many years after, the Iddo had became the trade center, where the Ijebu, Ilaje, Oyo, Egun and other territories came to trade, while also the Dutch sailed to buy Mable Blocks of Salt, Pepper, Fishes, Ivory, Gin and Cotton. All the trade concentrated at Iddo, as the edges of the market to left and to the right were Farms (Oko/Eko/Iko) of crops and avenue to and from to the Iddo market. Also, downward across the lagoon was also the farm of Aromire, known as Isale Oko/Eko or Iko (Downward Farm), where he had the standing trees of different kind of fruits and peppers which also partially became a market. The Idu-Igaran (Standing of Pepper trees) is of the Pepper Farm, Idu-imota (Stands of Knowing Price/Trade) was farm-to-resellers center in that downward. The Osere trees being used for Ikan (carpentry) to make chair, stools, canoes and other played significant role in concentration of buy and selling in that Idu-Imota that attracted some traders to cross the water to buy on Aromire farm. Osere tree at Igboosere (Osere Forest) used for planks and woods to carve at Onikan (the Carpenters) moved finished products to Iddo market. Sometimes in the mid or late 1600s, which is about two centuries and more than 10th generation of the Olofin Aworis, the Benin sailed in to also trade. During the reign of Omo N'Oba Ohuan who visited the Iddo market, and was so honored. The dispute between a successful trader called Aina in the market and the other rivals, being labeled a "witch"; she decided to take her case to palace of Benin where she reported her case. The Oba of Benin sent his chiefs to mediate and settle the dispute, but on their way, they spotted the woven fishing basket and arrow hook , which they mistook for readiness for war. The chiefs went back to the palace for what they saw, and then the Oba sent his army, led by Aseru, the prince of Benin to conquer Iddo and extensions. Yes, Aseru with his army entered Iddo town, the army attacked and dispersed people, burnt trading stands and stalls, the Iddo city deserted, till they fought down to Isheri. The Olofins fought back, with the help of their in-law from Oyo, Ikoyi Eso (The Army Guards of Oyo means "Ikoyi Eso", led by Ashipa (m. the Frontier) that considered the Benin invasion as "cheat" on the defenseless people; they joined the Olofin and conquered the Benin army and even drowned prince Aseru in the Isheri water , to death. Ashipa who led the guards from Oyo, took the body of prince Aseru in self-arrest with other Benin army to Benin palace, he was imprisoned in Benin for many months, but was later released and lived in the palace for sometimes, the Oba of Benin gave an instruction with "Royal Drum" given to Ashipa to become an Oba on Isale Eko land, with other appointed chiefs to make the installation of Ashipa as Oba Eleko possible. But yet, the Idejos (Aromire and brothers) did not agree, their term was made clear that: for Ashipa to be an Oba Isale Eleko on the land given to the Benin, their ownership must not pass the of land and space given to them by Aromire as garrisson/base at Iga-Iduganran, that the land, water and fishes on Isale Eko belong to Aromire, they'd also take the 70% of Chieftaincy and the tax collections taken by the Oba in Isale Eko must be shared among the Oba and the Idejos, with other portion taken to Benin. This agreement was not settled for many years, until the death of Ashipa. Late his son Ado, was installed with the agreement of ownership and Obaship. The fall of Oba Eleko from BENIN Lineage to IJESHA Lineage: The Oba Ado, Gabaro, Akinsemonyin and Eletu Kekere were the last Oba that was connected to Oba Bini. The kind of system of Obaship title of Benin is quite different to other Obaship title, mostly among Yoruba kingdoms. The Benin system use the first child to be in line to the throne, while the Yoruba system uses the system of all princes are entitled, taken the princes name to Ifa (Oracle), Ifa trim them down to, then the other princes vote. This is the case of Eletu Kekere who did not have a child during his 5 years reign as Oba Eleko. Erelu Kuti who was the Wife of the Ologun Kutere was the Royal lineage, since she could not become an Oba, his husband Ologun Kutere was installed by the Chiefs, then the Obaship fell into the hand of a descent of an IJESHA, called OLOGUN KUTERE, who fathered the Kosoko, Akitoye, Osinlokun, Idewu Ojulari and Eshugbayii with other wives from Ijebu, also his grandchildren are Dosunmu, Oluwole, Adeniji Adele, Oyekan and Akiolu (his mother was Benin descent and last wife). History has it that Oduduwa was a Benin prince and the progenitor of the yoruba race hence yorubas descended from Benin and not the other way round.so why should the oba of Benin be classified as a king under yorubas?? Odùduwà doesn’t have any linage with Ogiso. Ekhanadehan was the son of the Ogiso Owodo , he banned and sent exile from the palace with his mother by the Ogiso, he wondered in the forest with his mother and where they settled to set Uwhoto, which is part of Delta Urhobo today. So Oduduwa doesn’t relate with Edo or Ogiso itself. And Oduduwa is a title chosen as an Oba, his real name is Adimula. |

Seriously, Jostpay is rubbish upon rubbish. If you want to send money using BTC/PM, it's better you find a crypto-currency buyer elsewhere, transfer to them and get your actual cash/bank transfer. After Jostpay making a lot of profit from your BTC/PM sold, you will still be asked you cannot withdraw all your BTC/PM for withdrawal. For example, I had $200 worth of BTC, I put it on Jostpay to sell and get my cash, in the process of withdrawing, I was told I could not withdraw the $200 on Jostpay for cash but maximum $190. After doing that, my $190 converted to Naira at N380 per dollar (elsewhere N430 per dollar, lost N50 compare to an elsewhere buyer ) for withdrawal. I got N72,200 withdrawable amount. In the withdrawal process too, Jostpay still charged N300 from my 72,200 what I got in my account was N71,900 that is 2 days after. So if you convert $200 to N430 for selling to elsewhere its N86000, but with Jostpay, 71,900, loosing N14,100. Buying BTC is N520, so Jostpay sells BTC for N520 to buyers just like other dealers. This day I cried, what I wanted the money for was N90,000 so I could find 4000 to complete it, but this stupid Jostpay scammed the hell out of me that I was looking for N18,000 instead of N4000 to complete the money. |
Nairaland / General / Re: How To Send And Receive Bitcoin On Jostpay.com by ralphorb(m): 4:17pm On Mar 02, 2017 |
No its not true. You jostpay.com is a scam and ripper. If you try to sell your BTC on it. You just have to kiss your money goodbye. It will ask you to put your money in a JostPay BTC wallet, when you put your BTC money there, that is the end, you can't send money with it or withdraw it, its simply goodbye to your btc. If you attempt to use it send money to account, you will keep getting this message: "Your CONFIRMED balance is 0.00120668 BTC, you need at least 0.02411463 BTC more to send 0.02415451 BTC" It means you must leave half of your money in it, meaning not withrawable. |

Its like this: The artisans and Ladipo spare part dealers (shops only) pay N100 per day. They call it "Owo Fashola". The commercial bus drivers pay N200 in the morning, N100 to Lagos State tax + N100 NURTW. N100 in the mid-day and last N100 to work from 4 pm till night. So do the math. Rose2014: |

At where in South East? Imo State has the smallest quantity of oil reserve in Nigeria, which is even not in commercial quantity. Nigeria has total of 11.63 mmboe x 10 (about 12 billion barrels) of oil reserve, Lagos discovered 856 mmboe that is 0.856 billion barrels. Even in my own town Epe, Lagos State East, there was another discovery of just 91.5 mmboe which is 92 million barrels in reserve and still doing more discovery on the offshore. Several millions of barrels was also discovered in Dahomey, Lagos West. So, I don't know the reason why South East always want to go with South South, they said they are not Igbo or Biafrans, even if Nigeria would disintegrate, i'm 99% sure, Niger Delta won't annex to South East, they would rather be a nation. Igbo doesn't have oil except Imo. Yoruba has in Ondo and Lagos, not sure of Ogun. Hausa didn't have at all, except non-commercial quantity in Sokoto. So the oil riches of Nigeria lie in Niger Delta which consist of different ethnic groups known as minority group and some parts are closed to Yoruba and Igbo especially the Benin and Delta.
