That Guy is not an America. It a nigeria scammer. Once did that. It called apartment scam. The rent fee is going too good to be true. He's gonna tell you that He will send you the key.

My friend and me doubt he is Nigerian. Myself, I went through a similar scenario 5 years ago. I asked the person to call (just like my friend is doing now) and it turned out to be a Latino sounding person. We will see who this one turns out to be. They will call, eventually.

You can only driveby the house as I don't have anyone to show the inside of the house

This was the red flag that put my friend's ears on end. He is smelling a dupe here. Now he is at alert for the person's next move. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

A friend is moving to a new city on work transfer and therefore looking for new accommodation. This is a real online proceedings between my friend, prospective tenant, and the prospective landlord on Craigslist:

(Nigerian-American): I saw your rental advertisement on craigslist and I am interested in a 4 (or 3) bedroom, 2-3 bathroom rental accommodation. I will be needing this accommodation starting from July 2016.

Could you kindly respond with any details you may have so that we can take it from there.

Many thanks,

XXXXXX
==================================

(American): Yes my house is what you are looking for but first I need you to know that I am looking for a tenant to rent my home, I relocated to California after having a surgery to live with my family and help me raise my kids. I listed the house for sale with a Realtor but I realized that the real estate market here is rebounding tremendously and keeping my property rather than selling it would be likely very rewarding to me. so as soon as i get a tenant to rent my house am taking it down form the market.

It will also worked out well for the landlord and Tenant not to go through a Realtor because it saves a property manager fee and time, this will make the rent more cheaper and affordable Plus a management company does not give any personal attention to the home. I am just a number in their management files.

Pet Allow

PLEASE NOTE: You can only driveby the house as I don't have anyone to show the inside of the house, I will send both inside and outside pictures with the address and application to you if you are still interested.

Get back to me if you are interested in renting my home

Thanks
(No name)
=========================================

(Nigerian-American): Hello,
Thanks for your response. Please may I know whom am I dealing with here (as in your name)? As you can see I am a living person, with full contact information below. So it would be nice if you put a name to our conversations moving forward. Thank you.

That said, I would be interested in your rental and would like to schedule a visit to look at the property at some point. I have certain criteria that need to be in a house I would be renting. For now you could send me pictures of the inside and outside of the property

Please get back.

Cheers,

you provided no info about the town they are from, nothing about the meeting itself, nothing about their agenda, nothing about what they do, you are only impressed because Oyibos saw them in native attire moving along the street.

um.

Those details are not important for this thread. Why not also ask me to provide the names of the people in the photo?

Majority of those who responded to my post show and confirm what I know about SOME of my people. Some of us are just too emotional to reason rationally. What is the non-fact in this post that anyone, let alone an Igbo, should even argue about?

No wonder we have been left in the political doldrums in Nigeria.

Politics / Igbos Have One Advantage Over Other Nigerians????? by Ramnon2: 4:31pm On Feb 25, 2016
Are igbos economically savvy?
They hold 99% of the economy of their zone, while holding between 20-60% of the economy of other zones in Nigeria. This is a huge advantage, I believe.

Is this largely insular economy an advantage to the Igbos? For example, no ''foreign'' (by which I mean non Igbo Nigerians or real foreigners) entity can threaten to ''pull away'' their investments in Igboland, because ''foreigners'' invest little in Igboland to begin with. Virtually everything in Igboland is owned by Igbos.

My one advise for Igbos is for them to go slow on their one-man business mentality and form groups of business people among IGBOS only. Put their companies on the stock exchange for Igbos only. That way they can gain the advantage of economies of scale and still maintain their insularity.

One thing they are doing well, so far: they have business partners abroad, such as in China, USA, EU, Brazil, India etc. They must keep those partners by all means.

However, this ''Igbo only investment'' mentality in Igboland may pose a problem for Igbos when/if Nigeria separates. Igbos will lose nearly every investment they have elsewhere in Nigeria, and would not have equivalents of such businesses owned by non-Igbos in Igboland that they could confiscate in retaliation.

Also, politically, Igbos are still infants and need to learn how to play the game Nigerian style, which is ''eat them or they eat you first''.

What's the primary responsibility of "Management", at least for C-Level execs like a CEO? It's Planning or rather, "Strategic Planning".

To plan, you must prepare and to prepare you must have a vision, and often times, research provides insight to a vision. After a vision, you can make quality assessment based on preliminary findings and determine if it's worth advanced research that requires the actual plan and objective. The plan stages involves leveraging professional relationships which is required in the implementation and review of the whole process. For instance, no matter your growth plan, if you're unable to secure financial/regional partners in your field, your plan is as good as dead. CEO's are not hired because they have advanced degrees, they are hired because of their networking/funding/management potential. There are many CFO's, COO's,CMO, and other C- Level execs that have advanced degrees than a CEO, but what sets apart a CEO may be because of his background/relationships.

Therefore, my submission is that one is a strategic planner and the other is an implementer/reviewer.

Bleep-xxxx is an implementer, he's only responsible for managing a niche: implementing and reviewing. He would make a good candidate for director/Unit Chief or Chief Agric Officer, etc but he isn't a strong candidate for a CEO job. This isn't that he isn't fit, BUT he isn't a strong candidate.

yyy-yyyy is a planner who has leveraged business/professional relationships that may prove useful when needed. The fact he consulted for an international organization makes a difference. Also, he oversees the project as an "officer" rather than just a phase/portion of the project proves that he has not only professional but management skills which is beyond professional research.

I would hire yyyy for the reasons outlined above.

In essence, xxxx is a specialist/technical expert, while yyyy is a generalist. Gneralists are typical of higher outlook than specialists.

i think xxxx xxxx should have the job.my reason being that his resumé shows that he has got experience with organisational management and as such should be well suited for the job.

But have you considered the global and regional (FAO, IFAD and ECOWAS) organizational experience of yyyy yyyy? Could that help to attract international connections/gains/advantages/perks for the company?
Politics / Re: Secret Comparative Qualifications Between an Igbo and a Yoruba: by Ramnon2: 5:51pm On Feb 24, 2016
Comparing these two guys with other colleagues in the company, a few things are clear:

1. A degree from abroad is advantageous in Nigeria
2. A Masters degree seems to be preferred as the minimum qualification for mid to senior level positions
3. Working experience from different (rather than one) establishments counts, irrespective of number of years in each job.

I am playing a secret ethnic game.

These are two Nigerians below. One is Igbo, the other is Yoruba. I have removed their names and their Nigerian universities/schools of attendance to help in not identifying them easily.

They both work in the same organization involved in agriculture and food security issues.
They are both at the same rank presently.
Obviously, they both are rising stars in the establishment.

Based on their overall (academic and professional qualifications) who do you think should be made the future CEO of the organization? The information below comes directly from the Company's Website, whose identity I have also removed.

I want to see how many of us can unknowingly chose the candidate that belongs to their own ethnic group. I will disclose who is Igbo and who is Yoruba between them later.

Another foolish Igboman goes to develop and enrich SOUTH West. Don't even tell me about nearness to raw materials (Economics 101), as there are no tomato farms in Lagos. There are no motor raw material parts in Anambra/ Enugu, yet Innoson is producing from there. So there is no excuse for Umeofia.

These types of Umeofia Igbos - and there are millions of them- are doomed until they start asking why other rich private Nigerians are not investing in Igboland as they (these Igbos) do in other parts of Nigeria.
