I realizd that lagosians overrate Lagos, I just came into lagos, one month now, and i realize that my kaduna is way better.
The only thing i can agree to about lagos is that it is dirty, smelly, and of course lots of business opportunities and traffic . Lagos is stressful only because of traffic nothing more.
The problem with Lagosians is that they hardly travel, hence they have little knowledge of other places

I know so many of you are still crazy for university degrees without valuable skills. I think you know the number of graduates are roaming the streets looking for jobs. Degrees without basic skills needed by employers are just meal tickets.

Just shut the f*uck up man, you do not know what you are saying, what skills do you think you get from a polytechnic that can compare to a university degree, if you can't achieve to get a university degree or do not see the value of the one you have, do not discourage others

Based of your write up clearly shows that your level of literacy without doubt is excellent. I will strong advise you to follow your heart. You pointed out that you have strong passion for engineering, which you studied Engineering in your first phase of polytehnics education. I will STRONG advise you to go for HND programmes, as also advised by your father. You should not seek for admission into university education, because others are all rushing for university degrees. I am going quote from James Altucher book's 40 Alternatives to college.

I am list basic skills to have before you complete your tertiary education, if you even can secure an employment at the end of the day.

- Learn how to code aka computer computer programming- choose from any language, preferably python
- Investment massively in areas of Engineering you have passion for; softwares , books, time, energy and other tools valuable tools.
- Dig deep on how to solve people's problems with aquired skills.
- I know you can write, try to improve on it.
- Learn to network.
- Learn to negotiate.
- Learn how to sell.
- Begin to start a bussiness now.
All the above listed are not taught in school

guy don't be too sure, i am a lover of MS Excel, i use it to do most if not all of my office work, it's fun understanding how excel works, i use to dislike maths but working on Excel, over the years had made me fallen in love with mathematics all over again.

lol, what you are falling in love with is elementary math/stat, trust me, real math is e^100 of excel maths

I prayed they wouldn't ask me to practicalize like some of the candidates that went in before me.

funny but true, engineers deserve to be treated as good as doctors, its unfortunate the nigerian government have not recognized the role of the engineer, but the truth is that there are more engineers practicing engineering than doctors practicing medcine, hence engineers contribute more to the nation than medcine, the only difference is that engineers deal indirectly with clients whereas doctors have direct contact hence their impact
