Rapmoney:
There is no need arguing with you! First, your post is filled with silly grammatical errors!!! Again, your post has no weight because it is dumb! In fact, you just proved yourself to be worse than a half-baked graduate and an ignoramus!!! Go and learn something useful before you quote me! Orue!!!
yeah, exactly my point why you are a fool, cos my post is filled with grammatical errors doesn't mean that I am half baked.. believe whatever you will, I have said exactly what I had in mind, and I bet if your skill set and mine are compared it will be like 1:100, and trust me I am not exaggerating here....... Find yourself a life and stop trying to make people feel bad about themselves, fool

Also bro, the Grammatical errors on my post are virtue of the fact that I am human, rather than my level of education, and typos can be made by anybody, not to boast I have a typing speed of about 60 WPM (words per minute) on a PC, I doubt you can type 8WPM, fool

Even if it were that my level of education is so low that I cannot construct proper grammar/Sentence, well bro, English no be my papa language and I am very much excused, abi you think say Dangote sabi English like that? fool

Most of what you say a plain rubbish... what you have said simply means you have not passed through a Nigerian university, or you are a first or second year student.

I am going to scrutinize each one of your points to show you how they fail woefully

Point Number:

1) PART OF SPEECH: If I ask you how many part of speech you know and use consciously, I bet it won't be more than 3, Noun, Pronoun and maybe verbs..... This is a very useless point, can you remember how to solve quadratic equations using Completing the Square problem, or calculate the distance and time between two points on the globe using Longitude and Latitude as ref? If you can't solve it without consulting a book or the internet, then you also are halved baked cos you have been doing maths since kindergarten

2) READING: I do not think there is no graduate that "can't" read more than two pages... If they find it stressful its a whole different thing, but to say they can't because of the level of education.. well, if at all it will apply to like 0.0000000000000000001% of the graduate population.

3) and 4) MECHANICAL ENGINEERING & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING: This is plain stupid, the fact that you can't understand that number 3 and 4 belong to the same category and should be treated as one number is dumb of you, plus this point should not apply to only those two, it should go as far as the whole possible courses offered in the university. Your lack of understanding of what goes on in the Engineering faculty can be pardoned if you are not an Engineer. Engineering goes far beyond Fixing light bulbs or fixing your own car, what do you expect of an Mech Engineer who specialized in Thermodynamics or Air Conditioning (PS: for those who don't know Air conditioning does not imply just to that your home appliance), or an Electrical Engineer who specialized in Telecommunication or Computer, I studies Electrical and Specialized in Telecoms.

If you are to make that a point, you should talk about things that are really related to that persons course, like an Electrical Engineer not being to analyze and build a circuit or a Mechanical Engineer not being able to develop a prototype for an Engineer, things are related to the actual/specific thing they have studied, I am not saying that a Nigerian graduate should know all these, because in the University in Nigeria, nobody trains you that way, so you can't blame them.

This point applies to Computer Scientist who can't write a simple program, or medical doctors who can't perform surgery, these things take time, and it is after graduation that you are expected to develop the skills..

5) Inability to Teach Others Mtchewww, Don't you have lecturers that can't teach, do you think everybody was built to teach?

6) Confidence : Confidence is a whole different skills, it is not learnt in school, it is virtue of the way an individual is brought up, its psychology.. so no point here

7) Cant' Read and Write: This point is the same as number 2)

cool Can's User MS Word: I don't know why this is a point, but I can't argue with you on this, but trust me anybody is excused if they can't use MS Word, you think say na everybody get money like your father to afford a computer?

9) Discussing in Beer Parlours: Firstly I totally love beer parlours, secondly, I believe there are cultist who are first class graduates and lecturers seff, its low of them to keep on discussing of such things, but it does not mean they are half baked.

10) Watching Porn and Chatting with girls: I do not see how the Blackberry or Iphone strengthen this argument, so I removed them, about watching porn, well I can be the CEO of Shell and watch porn and also chat with random girls, nobody grows beyond chatting with new girls.

Thank you for noting that, I also wondered why he had to refer to the woman as " yeye mother" which was just uncalled for. Nigerians and curses.
meanwhile I feel that this beating is an extension of slavery and punishment by the white masters which was learnt by our fore fathers, and was used to train their kids too now its part of our living. just like they brought Christianity and now we are carrying it on our head, like we are the one's that invented the bible
Bro abi na sis, your thought process right now is an extension of slavery of our fore fathers, the fact that you think slavery is the cause we beat children, it means that it has messed up your head.

Are you trying to say they do not beat people before slavery, it is in the Bible that they say spare the rod and spoil the child not in 12 years a slave.

There’s this girl in my department, same level. We’re very good friends who flirt a lot and equally share the same dreams.

In fact, most of the activities we’ve carried out in school were all her ideas. She’s just all over me and attached herself so much in my future. She sometimes jokingly says she wants to marry me. People recommended that we are going to make a good couple. So, I then thought of all of these and how compatible we are, I then took the bold step to ask her out. She only responded that she has a boyfriend and we should drop the dating discussion for now since we’re still best of friends and we have
enough time to talk about it. I dropped it. After sometimes, she started complaining that she doesn’t like my being strange. I told her I loved her so much, she replied via chat “I understand but I love my boyfriend, he’s the best part of me”.

Please help me with what to do. I love her and I want to marry her. She knows but the only challenge now is her boyfriend.

What should I do?
Bro I am having same issues here, I asked her out two weeks ago, now we are like strangers to each other, we used to talk a lot on phone and laugh, she used to call me like 4 -5 times per day and we talk at length.. But after asking her out we no longer talk, everything just changed, she claims that my timing was wrong.... I am in a mess.... thinking about her every moment, every time my phone rings now, my heart skips a beat, hoping that she is the one calling..... I wish I can help you bro, but we share similar issue here

Till this very day, if a girl starts asking me for credit too much, I just tell her to never call me again, it is not as if I can't offer, but I know where I come from and how far, I know the struggles I passed through to get a job, and I am sure as hell not gonna spend it on some gold digger...

If I want somebody who will chop my money, I had rather get a hooker, at least I know that is what she is doing, rather than moving with some low live gold digger....

And it has also come to my notice that most of the girls who make a big deal of whether a guy should have money before he is date-able or not are girls that come from poor background like me and fugly ones for that matter... girls piss me off sometimes, that is why I do not pity some when I see them at 38 without having a man to marry.

OP
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you most likely will not get her.

If you've been friends for this long and she hasnt given you any hint she wants you to press through for a relationship, she most likely isnt into you.

You may say "but she enjoys talking to me"..She may, but usually girls av been known to be more chatty and expressive with members of the opposite sex who are just 'friends'.

Just keep your game tight and draw back from her now (start by limiting how often and how long you call her).

That should give you a hint of your stand in her life. If she barely notices or acts aloof too during dis period..Baba just ignore all dat feeling you think you have and look for a babe that likes you for you.

Dont waste your time!!!!
yeah, I think you are right, you know she has barely called me since the day I told her about my feelings, apart from yesterday when I was somewhat ill, I think I will give her the space like you rightly said, and see where I stand in her life, thanks a quadrillion..

Be matured about it, she might not be feeling the same way however you have got to hope that with time. She charges her mind. Also it is best if you ask her to give a tangible reason, it .might take time but if you are destined to be together. She will be yours
Thanks a lot, I probably asked her out thinking that she feel the same way as I do... I guess that is why I feel this way, thanks for pointing that out to me

RomanceI Asked My Friend Out, Now Things Are Weird Between Us by Ramos16(op): 6:58pm On Oct 18, 2015
Hi guys,

I recently decided to ask out my friend who I have had a crush since university days, that is about 6 years now. We have been in touch, and just a few days back I decided to ask her out. We do not stay close to each other, and we normally communicate over the phone.

For the past two months we have been communicating on a daily basis, we talk for about 4-5 times a day, each spanning at least 30 minutes, and it was always beautiful talking to her, I could tell she also enjoys talking to me from the way she responds. So last week I asked her out, on phone. I am one of those people who hate distance relationship as I perceive that they never work out, but in this case I could not let her slip away again.

On the day I asked her out, she was quiet almost throughout my sermon and professing of my love to her, I tried to get her to tell me how she feels about everything I had said to her, she only said she was not angry with me, I tried to push harder to get more specific and possibly positive response, but nothing came, she said I just told her about it, and she cannot make any decision at the time, so I should give her more time to think about it. Its about 4 days since that day, and we still talk on phone, only that this time, we talk like 1-2 times per day for just about 4-5 minutes, its almost like we now have nothing to talk about.

I really love this lady, my love for her is genuine, I love so much that if she eventually says "No" to me, I probably would not be able to be her friend again, not because I will hate her (that can never happen), but because my eyes will tear up and heart bleed every time I realise I might never be able to be with her, certainly being her friend will never make me heal.

I wish to know what y'all think of this situation, was it a bad move from me in the first place to tell her how I felt about her? and what is all the weirdness going on between us now?

PS: I am still waiting for her reply

Okanokan:
You just made me a PROTESTANT CATHOLIC. What we, Protestant Catholic are saying is that Catholic Church is an extraordinary neighbour, collecting tithes, offering, vows and other sundry charges for mass etc, and after charges a school fee that the average Nigerian cannot afford. What Nigerian are saying is that you cannot appropriate our land in communities across the nation to build schools that our children cannot attend. (Most land owned by the bigger churches of which the CATHOLIC CHURCH is the greatest beneficiaries were gotten free from the various communities with no form of encumberance), when they came into the country during the colonial era. What happen to CHARITY as a fundamental platform of catholism? Am of the opinion that the communities should enter into new agreement as done with oil companies, its time that communities whose land were given to these churches free be returned back, or renegotiated, 100year have passed since the church took control of our lives and land and force us pay for them.
Finally i am indeed a catholic and don't need to lie about it, there is nothing special calling oneself a catholic my grandfather brought catholic church to my community but am not proud of current leadership.
you are actually right, you are one of the few people here who have said something sensible... Its quit unfortunate though, but it is not a catholic problem, it cost a lot to run a university... the reality of the expense comes to view when it is not a government sponsored school.. Trust me if the government should remove sponsorship from all public universities, they will definitely turn as expensive as this ones.... if you feel aggrieved about the leadership of the Church, you seem like a smart person and I believe you can do something about that smiley

I have nothing against you, and trust me I will say the same to you even if you are as huge as an Iroko tree, which I very much doubt... Plus you just strengthened my point by bringing up PDP in this so unrelated issue..... My major anger with you is that you had to change the whole essence of the OP's post to hate talk, and that made almost every other person here follow suite.

See, no vex, my point is simple, Catholic Schools are expensive, and if you know better you will not be saying all these things you are saying (or feeling) now...

Cheeeeers
You obviously are a very ignorant person, with very little intelligence, no offence smiley, I do not know where you get your news of the Catholic church spitting Oyedepo and his likes, last time I checked it was fellow "Pentecostal" worshipers that do the spitting..

Why I say you are not smart, why bring your case up now, when if you look around, you will see a lot of catholic schools which are the most expensive in the country, especially their secondary school... I have not heard of a Catholic school that is not expensive, never heard of... So I feel it is foolishness for you to think that the Catholics spite Oyedepo, they barely know him seff.. and anybody with good level of intelligence should be able to point out the obvious to them (the Catholics), if at all I believe your story...

Do not let you shear hate for something cloud your judgement, it is one thing to just hate something or somebody and speak of it, it is another to be able to make sound judgement void of mawkishness.... and this goes to every other person out there, that is thinking with their leg instead of their head.... fix it or leg up...
